My Chinese thrift gene generally keeps my spending in check but I have a weakness for cookbooks and kitchen appliances. Visits to Lakeland stores have therefore been dangerous sorties for me and my wallet in the past. Now, they've only gone and opened a store where I work! They carry a range of kitchen and household products. For my American friends, think William Sonoma but with a wider range of goods. They opened for business yesterday and I only had a brief look round. Fortunately not enough time to browse and buy properly. When I feel strong enough to resist, I'll be sure to be back.

Unfortunately I can not enjoy them ,diabetic, but my wife will, with the oven hand muffs , and an item that I can only describe as a mini microwave cooking pot, in durable transparent plastic, which cooks baked beans and other tined items in their emptied form ,do not put the tin inside, unless you want wings or a trident, Long live Lakeland.

The bloke that chatted to us was pretty helpful, although he did follow us around the shop, even though there were other people who needed his help...maybe I was looking shifty?? The selection is bigger than Chris Stevens up the road, and more interesting than Tops Tiles. You really need to peek behind all the pillars / lift up displays to see everything. They are a bit more expensive than the other places we looked at, even during their current sale. However we fell in love with one of their patterned floor tiles, so I'll be back soon to buy them.

We spent…read moreages looking for unique well priced tiles and were feeling deflated with the whole thing until we stumbled upon Tiles etc. Within 30 minutes of being in there and talking to Simon we had decided everything. The customer service was excellent and now the tiles are installed they look even better. I wouldn't even bother looking in Topps tiles and big companies like this anymore. They have a really good selection and much more funky tiles than we had seen anywhere else. Simon and his colleagues really know their products well and give great recommendations

I returned 11 items to the Builder depot store in West Hampstead because i bought the wrong items…read more(the items are brand new, I have not even opened them. They refused to replace them, I had to return the unwanted items (for which they charge me 15% restocking fee ) and buy the correct ones, which I did. I accepted the terms and conditions. However, it t has now been 4 weeks, and I still have not been refunded the returned 11 items...

Deeply regret we deviated from our clients preferred supplier and provided this company with our…read morebusiness. To start with just to get a refund for returned goods is frustrating with no clear communication or urgency. A few weeks have passed since we first reached out in an attempt to return some unused and untouched stock - 13 lengths of cornices - following surplus based on the company's own quantity recommendation. However we were informed by Mark (the owner) that this was not possible due to space limitations. After our initial conversation with Mark, we attempted to follow up to see if space had become available and another staff member mentioned the company had multiple storage options but when we raised that point with the owner, we were met with: "Whoever you spoke to does not know what they are talking about" and no solution was offered. Despite our willingness to cover restocking and delivery fees as outlined by the company on our previous return, and even offering to store the items until space became available, we have been met consistently with dismissive responses and repeated avoidance of our requests. There has been zero regard for customer satisfaction, environmental responsibility or basic fairness in how this situation should have been handled. We won't be using them again and wouldn't recommend them to others.

I decided I wanted a refurbishment of my 120 year old and cornices and ceiling roses as part of…read morelounge redecoration but had no idea of how so dropped in on London Plastercraft who are local to me. Though not getting any business they were very helpful and gave me good advice especially about the stripping substances/how they work. When the decorators put this into practice the results were not as expected because the underlying cornices/roses turned out to be not only multi coats of paint covered but damaged as well. I contacted London Plastercraft again and they sent Andrew out to take a look. Andrew gave further advice but I was feeling less confident about results in the short time I had a available so asked what they could do. Well they couldn't have done more from setting out options (including renew which we decided), helped us select what we wanted, producing it, and, just 8 (Eight) days later, their smart young team installed it so enabling my decorators to maintain schedule. It looks fantastic, I couldn't be more pleased with the company, the team involved (especially Andrew) or the price.
