August 1, 2013 on our route from Seattle, Washington to Québec City, our Volkswagen Vanagon…read moreWestfalia stopped running on the highway about 30 miles north of Sault Sainte Marie. The tow truck driver recommended towing the vehicle to Algoma Auto Sales rather than to the VW dealer. My wife and I took his advice and were very glad we did. The Vanagon needed a new engine! To complicate matters, a used Subaru engine! Algoma Auto Sales replaced the engine as quickly as possible given that we had to find a used engine and have it shipped from Arnprior. (We spent the first night sleeping in the Vanagon at Algoma Auto Sales where we were given a key to the bathroom and offered an extension cord.) Algoma Auto Sales had to make some modifications and repairs to the used engine. Nevertheless, we believe that their price was less than we would have paid for the same job where we are from--Seattle, Washington States. Gary (and Brian who did the installation) explained clearly what was done--no fast talk. We picked up the Vanagon August 12, having rented a car to continue the trip to Québec, then drove back to Seattle 3,600 km with no engine problems at all. We highly recommend Algoma Auto Sales--for the excellent work they did, for time they did it in and for the amount they charged for the job. Obviously, being from Seattle, we have no connection to the company. Robert Dunshee
