In addition, Be cautious of this clinic's business practices. I discovered today ( over a week after my initial visit ) that They require upfront payment for visits, regardless of insurance coverage. I paid $150 plus a non-refundable $5.99 processing fee. I was assured that with a referral, I'd get a refund, minus the processing fee. I was told that day if I could get an approval from my doctor that I did not have to pay the $150 but since it was a Sunday and he was not the one that was on call, I had to wait until the following day to get the approval Sent through properly. So I'm not sure how we went from. "We only need a referral to avoid the $150 fee and the 5.99 processing charge" to now we need to be paid by the insurance company before we can refund you. That is two totally different scenarios. I also have never had to pay a processing charge at a doctor's office ever before. I confirmed with Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) that my referral was approved for emergency visits for one year, and the visit was indeed covered. Despite having full coverage through BCBS and a referral from my primary care doctor for an emergency visit during a recent snowstorm, the clinic's refund process was inconsistent. Initially, I was told I'd receive a refund check the next day, but when I followed up, they claimed it would take at least two weeks because they needed to await the Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from BCBS. BCBS confirmed that the clinic should have access to real-time data showing my coverage and the referral, debunking the clinic's claim. The clinic's information and requirements changed each time I called, suggesting a possible scheme to retain both insurance and patient payments. I wouldn't have left a negative review if the information hadn't been so misleading and inconsistent. This experience makes me long for a time when patient care came first, especially for those with comprehensive insurance. If there were any doubts about insurance coverage, they should have been upfront about it, rather than changing their story after collecting the payment.

I admit I have had to go to Medhelp in Pelham several times over this past year with respiratory infections of some sort. I have a tendency to have an awful cough day and night and the only thing that works is a cough medicine yes with (omg a narcotic). Dr. Wever's nurses and staff are wonderful but today he treated me as if I was only seeking drugs. I am writing this at 3:30am because I got prescribed "pearls" which are the equivalent to taking a tic tac so, I am awake coughing. This bodes well for my nursing students tomorrow. I realize there are people just wanting drugs and, if that was the case, I could get better drugs outside of the office if I wanted. I was there for help with this cough and, to listen to my lungs, Dr. Wever barely touched the stethoscope to my back ( in just two places) and two on the front. Never asked me to take a deep breath or even looked at my throat. He made his mind up I was only there for a tiny bottle of cough medicine, that would not get me far if my goal was to get high. I love paying a co-pay and to take time off work to be viewed the way I was, and to still be up coughing. I also didn't appreciate his nurse being the one to tell me he did not prescribe me any cough medicine. That was not her responsibility to explain why he chose not to treat my cough appropriately. The front staff and all nurses there are absolutely wonderful and this review does not reflect on them in any way. I work in healthcare and I know we all get skeptical but sometimes, just sometimes, patients need to be treated as an individual that comes in for help but instead leaves feeling worse than when they came in. The person on the phone said they'd have to run the insurance card to verify so we went on in. When we got there they wouldn't verify that they would accept our insurance, even with the card, and wouldn't see my wife unless they scanned our credit card in advance. I don't know about the docs but the front desk was not helpful. We left and went a couple blocks down the street to Eminence Urgent Care and it was great.

Called today to simply ask if my dr was going to be sending off my urine for a culture, because not every place does that. Some just test u and give u results on if u have a UTI or not. The receptionist said "if she said she's going to send it off then she's going to send it off" I said "thats why i'm calling, to see if she is GOING to be sending it off, she never told me that she was" & she continued to talk to me sarcastically & rude, NEVER messaged the dr or went to ask, and then said "MY GOSH" before hanging up the phone with me. Ma'am, u need to go work at McDonald's, they love hiring people with your attitude and trust, I'm gonna meet you with the same attitude the next time I see you. Do better. People like YOU in the medical field is WHY the medical field has a bad rep. Glad I don't have to work with people like you.
