4/17/19 date this was written/occurred!…read more Bankruptcy automatic Denial....supposedly! So we went yesterday to apply for an apartment here and we saw the apartment and fell in love with the apartment (we had been looking at apartments for sometime in WV and even out of state) during the application process we had told them that my other half had filed a chapter 7 bankruptcy and that it had been discharged. (at this point based on what we were told later they should have made us aware immediately) well we left and had given them information to hold the apartment for us and made them aware that we would be coming back within the hour with the necessary paperwork they needed for the application and proceeding (again during the time we were gone if they had discussed between staff/manager and saw or knew of previous bankruptcy) they could have called us and informed us not to waste our time and drive all the way back down there.... We had went home gotten all we needed and drove back and felt like we hadn't even got to sit down and get comfortable before having to leave because we were upset; basically we were meet with same staff we had dealt with earlier and the Manager whom looked at our application and basically said a Bankruptcy is an automatic denial!! Wow just wow, it was a chapter 7 and has been discharged. Furthermore they seemed to offer another option (which is unethical) that I thought was helping and that turned out to also be not so true; they offered to have me be the primary leaser and have all responsibility and my other half would just be listed as an occupant; we have always been responsible parties on a lease and are both liable (if something happened to me and he just the occupant he could be evicted because he wasn't liable and just listed as occupant; WV law states in order to prove occupantcy with the DMV you must show proof with LEASE or a letter from the Landlord. So legally he wouldn't be able to get a drivers license or update them). But we left that first day and came home talked to a few people and decided that maybe we misunderstood what they were trying to say to help us out (or at least that is what we thought) and because maybe we had blew up not really listening to what they were trying to say, so reached out to the manager (on her off time) and made an appointment for 930am to be told just what we had thought. That if we proceed with me being primary person on lease and he listed as an occupant it all depends on the financials, but in this same meeting we brought the discharge information and presented it to Manager and also proceeded with the determining if I was primary leaser if I would qualify, even though his income counts in our household; and him being listed as occupant and they then determined that I do not make the "3 times gross pay" so we left having presented the discharge information and other financial information and for her to call later (again this was 930-10amish) that she said she expected to to hear something in a couple of hours if we were to proceed, 2pm rolled around and at this point we wrote an email stating to cancel all proceedings because we felt discriminated against one for having a previous bankruptcy and then after giving it some thought because we were two "LGBT" men looking to rent a one bedroom apartment...

Ok so I definitely wanted to be able to get pictures in here because the apartment…read morepictures/description online do not do this place justice. We applied to live here and were only able to preview a 1br which was fine it was actually pretty large so we were pleased enough to go ahead and sign for a 2br without viewing. We came from a house we were renting so everyone thought we were crazy but we needed upgrades, more closets and amenities! (We just aren't ready to commit to a home yet.) This place is amazing for us! 2 adults and 1 - 8year old we have plenty of space. We have total 7 closet areas. Which was top of the list for moving. Moving in the home was fresh paint new carpet everything was CLEAN as if it were new and just what we needed. A fresh new place to call home. The buildings are very private and quiet. We have a large outdoor space and plenty of community areas to hang out in. This space is very open concept it makes for a great kid friendly area they are able to eat and do homework in the common area and still be in view of everything. It allows for more a more structured environment. Overall we love this space is cozy, spacious, and just convenient all around wether it be convenient places in our neighborhood or convenient trips to the store and local places. We are excited to call this our home!
