Showed up for dinner on a complete whim on Saturday, Oct. 30/21 Pleasantly surprised they had live band music & they were great! The group that need night sang & performed (well) a good mix of modern & classic rock. I would have stayed longer if the resto opened later. If you're looking for a boodle fight / kamayan style dinner - this is a wonderful place to go. It was just the 2 of us, so our GK Regular platter was perfect! A fantastic mix of de-li-cious Filipino style grilled squid, BBQ Pork Skewers, fried tilapia, mango salad, grilled eggplant, fried chicken that includes a large bucket of rice. LOVED the Buko Pandan Royale, as the roasted rice sprinkle was a tasty crunchy salty surprise with the sweet coconut pandan jelly, tapioca balls mix. We're definitely coming back here again for this legit Filipino food place. Staff was great as well, being very hospitable and friendly. My only 'complaint' is that they should be open later than 8pm on a Friday and Saturday night.

Kare-Kare with pork bagnet. Delicious!
Beverly A.

We had high expectations from this place as it's rated 4 stars but we were a bit disappointed. We ordered the Palabok, chicken and pork BBQ, caldereta, grilled squid, crispy pata, Kare-kare with pork bagnet (crispy pork belly), halo-halo, and turon. The only memorable dish from our dinner was the kare-kare. I like how it was more of a destructed Kare-kare because they grilled the eggplant and steamed the veggies while still crispy and fresh, so it wasn't all mushy if it was all stewed together (like how it typically is). The crispy pork bagnet definitely elevated the dish. If you're going to come here, definitely order this! Other than that, everything else was ok. Although the service was a bit slow due to rush dinner time and being short staffed, they were all friendly. Would I come back here? Maybe not because we've definitely had better overall Filipino food at other places.

Attended a catered reception at this place with friends and was very happy with our experienced. The table and backdrop setup was very nice. And of course their Filipino foods were very delicious. They served us Chicken BBQ, Pancit, Pork Sisig, Beef Caldereta, Sweet and Sour Fish Fillet, Chopsuey and Lechon Pork Belly and some assorted desserts. This place is highly recommended for Filipino dishes.

Very good! This was our first night in Canada and we enjoyed ourselves. The food was delicious!! Enjoyed the music also. Wished I could have stayed longer to hear some Karaoke. Will be back!!

The service was very friendly and courteous. The portion were large and very good. The prices are reasonable. I'll be returning!

Pinakbet and garlic rice is a good combination. I would say the small rice can feel 4 people so don't order much

Arrived in Vancouver BC for another round of checking out restaurants and a little shopping. So hubby recommended this based on feedback. We don't usually agree on food recommendation but we agree this time. Place is clean. It was easy to order. Try the Filipino veggie Pinakbet. Love th sauce. It wasn't fishy and dish had both meat and veggie good for 2 people. Tapsilog was ok accdg to my son but I prefer a not so dry tapa. The calamari! Yes order that. Make sure to eat it while it is hot. Pork bbq is good too. We also got the fried chicken skin for starters. Be careful eating a lot when you have high cholesterol :-). I got myself sago and gulaman drink. It's not that sweet so it's not distracting for the diff taste of the food. Highly recommend.

If your are thinking of trying out some Fillipino food Grandt Kitchen is a good option. They have quite a selecting of dishes to choose from. We ordered the bbq chicken skewers garlic fried rice, grilled bangus belly, palabok, crispy pata, lumpia, and chicken adobo for the familh to try and they all enjoyed the experience! The crispy pata was a favourite. The skin was soooo crunchy and crispy! It was hard not to eat the skin! They are addicting like chips! Everything was super flavorful as for most Filipino dishes and had generous portions. A great place to try something new!

So I just had my birthday and usually have two separate events. One for my immediate family and one with my friends. We always have the same restaurants in rotation and so I decided let's try some Filipino food. My husbands coworker recommended this place to us and told us to try the Boodle fight. I was the photos and read the reviews and contacted Neil who is the owner to make reservations. 4-5 people it's $100 but 6-7 was $150. Seems pretty steep but considering the amount of food and preparation put into it, it was well worth the experience and my parents were happy! The boodle fight came with Fried chicken, stuffed squid, milkfish, pork skewers, lumpia, eggplant and zucchini as well as mussels too! We ended up getting mango juices as well as coconut drinks and couple orders of lumpia while waiting for everyone to arrive. Total was $223 which included 20% tip and all taxes for 6 people. Neil even bought me a small cake which was totally unexpected and tasted yummy!! The only issue we really had was the location. Just make sure your GPS is up to date and you should have no issues. We will be back to try the all day breakfast next week and thank you Neil and your workers for your kindness and hospitality!!! If you want to try a crazy cool experience and different style of eating, make sure to order the Boodle fight!

Boodle Fight!

Everyone's gotta try a "boodle fight" with a group of friends and/or family at least once, and Grandt Kitchen is a great place to do it! This traditional way of enjoying Filipino food is also known as "kamayan" - which is a Tagalog word that means (to eat) "with your hands", so there are no plates or utensils. This restaurant in particular has several tables and a large and spacious room dedicated to accommodating large groups for their boodle fights, and reservations are highly recommended to avoid disappointment. Came here for my birthday and was impressed by their service and process - they get you seated, ready to eat and with your drinks, and you can actually WATCH them assemble the delicious & piping hot layers of freshly cooked food right in front of your eyes! Everything is laid out on banana leaves, and you get the chance to try a large variety of delicious vegetables, meats, and chopped mangos with garlic fried rice. Be sure to come hungry as there is tons to eat, and order the DELUXE boodle fight (which is an extra $25 more than the regular, and throws in a crispy pata and shrimp...SO WORTH IT!) I love supporting Filipino businesses in particular, and it's great to see one that pays special attention to their food, customer experience AND their service. Their boodle fight is better than others I've tried locally, and I haven't tried their regular menu or desserts yet...but I'll definitely be back to see what else they have to offer!

The first time i went there to eat with my friend, the food was not good . We ordered pork sisig and chicken bbq. The pork sisig has to much fat and a little bit of meat in it. I dont think they actually use the actually part of the pig for the ingridients. My friend and I were so excited to try the chicken bbq because it looks yummy but then the taste doesnt taste like chicken so we did a couple bite again to make sure but its not!!! Its pork!!!. TODAY, i decided to give it a chance for second time to eat lunch , there's no one really in there and its freaking friday! ; theres probably only three costumer including me. I ordered garlic rice and pork sisig, then after 10 min the girl brought the food ; I can hear the sisig sizzling but then i look at it and wondered why is so dark and burnt. So i tasted it and it tasted like a freaking re-heat from left overs or so , i dont know but it doesnt taste right at all. I was so disappointed, i only ate a little bit because i was really hungry. It cost me 17$ for the unappetizing sisig. I asked to make it to go because i dont wanna waste my money, the girl didnt event asked how was the food so i can comment on it. The first boodle fight that i did with my friends was ok!!! because they cooked it before your reservarion i guess, but dont even bother going there for walk in or else they will serve you crappy left overs!! I just hope they will also serve better food for walk in not only for boodle fight costumers!!!!

Wow, pretty good. Although you have to trust your dinner companion's as you eat with your bare hands. Food was quite tasty, as picks will show. I would reccomend min 4 people to spread the cost and get and diverse grouping of tasty eats...

Deluxe Boodle Fight

What a fun and unique experience! My family and I came here for "Boodle Fight" which apparently started as a Filipino army tradition. All of the food is placed on the table which is covered in banana leaves and you eat with your bare hands! No gloves, cutlery, or dishes are provided, nor are they required ;) Reservations are required so make sure you do that before coming here. The restaurant is also oddly located in a sort of industrial area.. we had a bit of a hiccup while getting here since we couldn't directly access it from the highway (check the map beforehand!) The Deluxe Boodle Fight is more expensive than their regular one at $125 but it includes crispy pata (pig's leg), BBQ pork skewers, spring rolls, grilled stuffed squid, shrimp, mussels, fried milkfish, tocino (type of pork), okra, zucchini, eggplant, corn, mango salad, and unlimited rice (!). This is apparently good for 4-5 people but since we were a group of 8, we ordered 1 and a half orders of this. I watched in amazement as the food was placed in the middle, along the length of the table starting from the rice, then the vegetables and seafood, and meat. Everything was very neatly presented and evenly distributed for all of us to share. Everything was very tasty but I think the best dish for everyone was the BBQ pork skewers. These were very tender and not too fatty. Perfect to eat with some vinegar! I've never experienced anything like this before and it was actually really fun eating with my (clean) hands. By the end of the meal, I think I had somewhat mastered the art of scooping up rice with my fingers :P The service was also very friendly and welcoming. Since we were there for my sister's birthday, they even provided us with a large slab of chocolate cake to share! That was very nice of them. All of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. Although I don't see myself coming back any time soon since it's so out of the way for me, it is definitely something you should try at least once!

We went here for Mother's Day. What a fun and different experience from the norm. Boodle fight. A filipino tradition of eating. All this food piled on the table on top of banana leaves. Spoon and fork? Nahhh you use your hands. That's what's fun. You can fight for the food. What feast can you expect? Deluxe boodle Crispy pata (look it up) Shrimp BBQ Pork Skewers Lumpia (also look it up) Grilled stuffed squid Fried chicken Mussels Fried tilapia Okra Zucchini Eggplant Corn Mango salad Unlimited rice whattttt I highly recommend. They've only been open for 4 days the time I went.

The food was a typical filipino food; no better than any other filipino restaurants. One of my friends found paper in her halo-halo.

They offer Eat All You Can buffet, ala carte options, and even desserts! The food is good, especially their fried chicken and lechon kawali! Some other dishes were okay for me, but for the price of the buffet on the weekday, I would still come back because I feel like I get my money's worth and feed my craving. The ambiance of the place is awesome! After coming back from the Philippines, the second time I visited this place, it made me feel like I was back at home. The aesthetics and the overall vibe is very warm and comfortable. They offer guests to sing karaoke if you want, which is great since you can burn calories singing your heart out while enjoying the buffet meal hehe. I ended up staying at the restaurant for almost 4 hours because we were singing so much lol. The service is almost a do-it-yourself kind of feel. You are welcomed and offered to sit anywhere there is availability. There is not much staff the few times I have been (1 in the kitchen, and 1 in the front who is also cooking), and it can be a bit slow, especially when bringing out the food for the buffet. But they are very courteous and polite. It has not been that busy when I went on the weekdays, but I think it is also a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. I do believe the restaurant has so much potential, and I encourage people to come and support this local restaurant. The owner is also very nice and shared the story behind the restaurant. It is located close to the Guildford Mall, so instead of eating at the food court, head over here instead!

So I ate my meal 3hrs after the movie...one should keep that in mind when reading this review. Let me say first, the restaurant was very festive on the inside and service was faster than I expected. I ordered Lechon Kawali (without rice) and Flan, The pieces of the lechon were small, and not very juicy. I've had lechon that I didn't eat immediately after the order that while cold was juicy and tender...this just seemed overcooked. The flan, while not sweet, which I like was also the consistency of yogurt, very soft and offered very little resistance, which isn't my usual experience with traditionally made (Filipino) flan. I only tried two items on this menu...and didn't like either...I'm sure there are others who would disagree particularly versus an in restaurant experience. I'm going to wish these guys good luck!

It has a very convenient location in a shopping plaza on 120th and 80th in Delta. We were able to score primo parking right infront of the resto (plenty of parking regardless.) The interior was surprisingly modern and bright. It had high ceilings with exposed duct works (lofty!), plenty of natural light, painted concrete floors and lots of room between tables. After reading through the giant menu, we settled on garlic fried rice, dinuguan, sisig, tortang talong, pancit bihon and BBQ pork. (Some of us don't often have Filipino food so we went a bit overboard!) The garlic fried rice was the perfect pairing for the "ulams." The garlic was perfectly minced and fried just so it wasn't bitter. The dinuguan had plenty of tender pork pieces that had been cooked slowly in the blood sauce. Yes, it's made with pig's blood with vinegar and a bit of chili peppers. It's a rich and flavorful stew. The other stand outs were the sisig, crispy pork pieces (traditionally from the pig's face) cooked in vinegar and served on a sizzling plate with an egg that you have to mix while the plate is still hot. It tends to get oily so can't eat much of this delicacy. The tortang talong is an egg omelette with sauteed pork on a grilled eggplant. The eggplant adds another level of creaminess to this brunch dish. The pancit bihon was too oily and nothing special. The BBQ pork skewer was also a disappointment. I wish it was grilled with the sauce as the meat didn't absorb the sauce much and was a bit dry. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our food came out quickly as it became ready in the kitchen. My Mom purchased some delicious looking Filipino pastries and bread from their in-shop bakery. (Sadly I was too full to try them out.) Nevertheless, I'm so glad we had plenty of leftovers so I can enjoy them again. We'll definitely come back.
