Prior to my dad's death my husband contacted Grand Rapids Cremation Services to inquire about cost and instructions for when he did die. When dad died, shortly after midnight in early June 2025, the hospice nurse contacted Grand Rapids Cremation Services as I requested. The gentleman who came for my dad was dressed professionally in a suit and tie. He was so kind and gave me condolences while sincerely looking me in the eyes. My dad was handled so carefully, nicely wrapped and securely buckled on a gurney to leave the assisted living facility. Meeting at the office with a representative to make specific arrangements was just as consoling. They listened, they were comforting. The visit was a mix of business and personal conversation; we had laughs and tears. All our questions were answered and we were encouraged to contact them with any other questions. Everything was done for my dad as promised--at the quoted price and within stated timeframe. Because my dad was a World War II veteran, I received a very nice folded flag. His cremains were shipped to Riverside National Cemetery for interment. Later this year I will have a military ceremony for him there. The experience with Grand Rapids Cremation Services was as pleasant as it could be when making arrangements for a loved one who died.
