So, how's this for a car detailing experience!…read more I pulled up on a Wednesday with no appointment. An attendant jumps in my car and drives me directly across Main Street to my little towns adult libation emporium. I'd tell you the name, but Yelp gets a little pissy about using other business names in a review. I meet up with friends there and quaff a beverage or two or three. 90 minutes later the owner of AAA showed up with my keys. My beautifully finished car is parked outside waiting for me! $40 + tip and my car was spotless inside and out! Note that the price depends on the size of the vehicle. I've been using them for years and couldn't be happier!

We were particularly impressed with how careful they were around the pool. Our weekly pool service commented on how little runoff and debris was in the pool, they didn't have to do much beyond standard weekly maintenance. We HIGHLY recommend Step One Car Wash and Mobile Detailing. They will be OUR FIRST CALL if we need any exterior cleaning in the future.

I used to bring it somewhere to have it done but I find mobile detailers much more convenient. These guys responded to my online quote request within minutes. I was scheduled the next day with a thirty-minute arrival window and they arrived on time. They looked at my ride and said it would take about an hour. They proceeded to swarm my car with all kinds of pressure washers, vacuums, and potions. It did indeed take about an hour. You would swear my car came right out of the showroom! Maybe even better than that! The tab was $40, and I didn't even need to leave my condo. Sweet! You can bet I'll be reaching out to them again when I need an excellent detailing at a great price!

It appears that the owner has other locations in nearby small towns. There is an automated drive-through bay. There are four levels of wash ranging from $5-$9. OMG! How will I pay the mortgage? This is a brushless operation with high pressure only (Touchless) which lots of folks prefer. I tried the $9 (Works) wash and was very very pleased. There are also two, do-it-yourself bays. Every time I've been there, folks are happily doing their own thing! Of course, there are coin operated vacuums. I pull around and where typically at any other car wash there would be a foreman to look at my receipt and determine which wash I had purchased. At this place, I was left to figure it out on my own. I asked one of the guys working in one of the bays what I should do with my car and he said to just pull in to one of the bays, which I did. And I waited. And waited. And waited. All the while the guys working continued meticulously (read: slowly) detailing the cars in the other bays. I waited by my car because I wanted to make sure that no fragrance was used and also that no Armor-all was used on my dash. I waited about 10 minutes and then I shut my engine off. I waited a few minutes more and then moved my car out of the bay, went inside and requested a refund, which they cheerfully provided. In fairness, the outside wash was adequate. They did provide an attendant to interpret their not-very-user-friendly touchscreen menu where you pay for your wash. I am going to suggest that they ditch doing a full-service wash and just take appointments for detailing. The setup they have isn't conducive to what a normal car wash should offer.

Just for the hell of it, I went with the $15 package which they call the Uptown. The Process- The touchscreen process was easy. It gently tried to get me to upgrade but I told it to go to hell and got what I wanted. The Wash & Dry- This is a drive-thru facility and I've been to a million of these places but this one is a little special. They've got strong LED lights that keep changing color as you move through. One minute the inside of your car is glowing blue, then green etc. It's a little like an amusement park ride and not unpleasant. When you exit there is a long line of do-it-yourself vacuums that are free. They are very powerful. My car looked great. Their pricing is in the middle of the competition in the area. All in all, a solid experience.
