The big tree, lights, little details everywhere. While visiting, they had a horse and carriage come to pick up the residents for a ride around Newport. The smiles on their faces were enormous. Once everyone came inside, we were treated to hot chocolate and other goodies. They also had a wonderful program called "Elves for Elders", where residents make wish lists and people surprise them with gifts, it was just really thoughtful and added so much Christmas magic. The doctor made uneven and unfair comparisons which relayed their lack of education and understanding. Overall, what was absent was a sense of intelligence...and though there were several opportunities not once did they demonstrate the ability to meet a challenge with proper skill and knowledge. A rehab facility with no expertise or honest assessment replaced with a dismal environment? I'd look elsewhere.

My loved one was there and was treated very Rude by most of the aides. The aides showed No Compassion or Empathy. While there she allegedly contracted a MRSA Infection in her wound and in her blood causing her to have temps up to 103*! MRSA is caused by a highly Contagious Staph Bacteria transmitted by Poor Hand Washing and/or Careless Wound Care administered by Staff Members as I didn't change my own wound care dressings. It was not uncommon to be left on the bedpan or on a commode for up to 15 minutes. Once while an aide was assisting my loved one back to bed, the aide bellowed out these exact words "WHY YOU SHAKE SO MUCH YOU GOT THE PARKINSON'S OR SOMETHING?". Ironically she was being treated for Parkinson's Syndrome and my loved one began to cry as the aide walked out of the room. Another time while visiting at mealtime, someone came out of the kitchen and yelled down the corridor "WE JUST RAN OUT OF CHICKEN WE'RE GONNA HAVE TO GIVE THE REST PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY SANDWICHES!". When her Dr. found out that she allegedly contracted MRSA while Rehabbing at ROYAL He put ROYAL on his Do Not Admit to this Facility List ! All I can say is Do your Homework. Do not trust the Medicare.gov website for accurate ratings, but rather rely on word of mouth from Friends and Co-Workers.

Each time went as well as can be expected and I would return if the need arose. Parking is generous. Emergency room parking has a lot closer to its entrance. General parking is across the street and I had no issues. If full, there is some street parking in the surrounding areas. If you've never been to this hospital, you must show a government-issued identification card. The receptionist will take your information so that the next time you visit you can simply just give your name and proceed to your appointment area. Homemade masks are not allowed. If you're wearing a cloth mask, one will be given to you that meets their standards. You can wear one or both but mask-wearing is mandated inside the hospital at all times. The nurses and other workers I came into contact with were very helpful. On my first visit, I got lost and someone actually walked me all the way to the area I needed to be in without feeling like I was taking them away from something. My ER visit was a smooth one. I did have to pass through a metal detector so that was the only odd thing. I get it, at some point, something has happened to make it a necessity to do things a certain way. My entire ER visit was a little over an hour from check-in to discharge. They even had cable in the room I was placed in while waiting. I just knew I was gonna have a nap while there...nope! Things progressed in a timely manner and I was on my way. If needed, I would choose service at this hospital based on my positive experience.

I explained what the situation was, I asked if someone can fix my aunts call button. They asked who the patient was, and I told them. The woman said, "oh the light is blinking, it's working. We have a full floor and it's been busy"... I didn't want to lose it on the phone so I simply said she needs assistance getting to the bathroom. I think that crap excuse on the phone made me realize they are not hiring professionals any longer. Nursing and customer service has taken a real nose dive in the past decade or so. I wonder how many older patience are laying in urine and feces because staffing is too busy to check on them in an appropriate amount of time! I hope my aunt doesn't push the call button and it be a life and death. Nothing but negligence in that hospital. Have the ambulance take you to Miriam. They really look after you.

I have partial right side paralysis due to a stroke. I have seen sooooo many PT's and I have never…read morefelt more cared for at a PT. Every person is so kind and caring and want to help no matter how big or small. I see Allie, twice a week and she has made me not wake up in pain for the first time since my stroke. This isn't any normal PT, they don't do the same thing every time and send you home with more at home exercises then you normally do in the hour you are seen. They work with you. They care about you. They want you to be, in my case, pain-free, and better after every session. Truthfully, whenever I have to move I am going to be crushed to leave my friend here at NPT & Co. And the ON shoes, sooooo amazing! they took a while to convince me and now I am sad it took me so long. my knee doesn't hurt as much after standing on my feet and I don't have to ask someone to tie my shoes. which being 26, and not being able to tie your shoes sucks and there were no cute alternatives! until these, super cute and super reliable.

There's a small waiting room up the stairs and a clean and attractive bathroom. Anya gives a great massage. She's everything you want in a massage therapist - strong, no nonsense and can address specific issues of concern. She can vary the pressure for your taste. She uses a weighted blanket if you like that. The music she plays is not intrusive or annoying, just lovely background music (ie. No weird new age orchestral arrangements). If you prefer a certain kind of music or no music you can request that - even just nature sounds. Worth every penny.

Jaime was amazing to work with, and pushed my daughter to get herself better, including reversing what U.O. did to her to ruin her surgery healing from February 2025. She had a second double reconstruction surgery this year in April, and will begin her PT again with HighBar next week. I've never been so confident in physical therapists until my daughter began going to HighBar. They are top notch therapists who actually care about their patients, their patients getting better, and they treat their patients as if they're part of the HighBar family.
