My loved one was there and was treated very Rude by most of the aides. The aides showed No Compassion or Empathy. While there she allegedly contracted a MRSA Infection in her wound and in her blood causing her to have temps up to 103*! MRSA is caused by a highly Contagious Staph Bacteria transmitted by Poor Hand Washing and/or Careless Wound Care administered by Staff Members as I didn't change my own wound care dressings. It was not uncommon to be left on the bedpan or on a commode for up to 15 minutes. Once while an aide was assisting my loved one back to bed, the aide bellowed out these exact words "WHY YOU SHAKE SO MUCH YOU GOT THE PARKINSON'S OR SOMETHING?". Ironically she was being treated for Parkinson's Syndrome and my loved one began to cry as the aide walked out of the room. Another time while visiting at mealtime, someone came out of the kitchen and yelled down the corridor "WE JUST RAN OUT OF CHICKEN WE'RE GONNA HAVE TO GIVE THE REST PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY SANDWICHES!". When her Dr. found out that she allegedly contracted MRSA while Rehabbing at ROYAL He put ROYAL on his Do Not Admit to this Facility List ! All I can say is Do your Homework. Do not trust the Medicare.gov website for accurate ratings, but rather rely on word of mouth from Friends and Co-Workers.

The big tree, lights, little details everywhere. While visiting, they had a horse and carriage come to pick up the residents for a ride around Newport. The smiles on their faces were enormous. Once everyone came inside, we were treated to hot chocolate and other goodies. They also had a wonderful program called "Elves for Elders", where residents make wish lists and people surprise them with gifts, it was just really thoughtful and added so much Christmas magic. It truly was a winter wonderland. Thank you Village House staff for everything you have done for my mother!

At every step, the nurses and doctors were incredibly competent, kind, attentive, and upbeat. They actually took the time to contact medical facilities back home to obtain important pulmonary, cardiac, and other medical records, making sure they had the information needed to provide the best possible care. Our family member arrived on a very serious downward trajectory and, after a week in their care, left the hospital doing so much better. I am a 61 year old Veteran and was advised to go to a community emergency room after hours due to…read morethe VA Medical Centers being closed after 4:00 pm Mon-Fri and closed Saturday and Sunday. I chose the Newport Hospital. I was unaware that I was being admitted for overnight. I tried to leave and was +stopped by the emergency room contracted security (Securitas). I proceeded to dial 911 from my cell phone and told the 911 operator that I was being held against my will at the Newport Hospital. I was then told, "there is nothing I can do, you'll have to stay". I was then told by a hospital staff member{CNA} Certified Nursing Assistance that they were going to take my cell phone and Apple watch. I refused and three Securitas security personnel grabbed me as i was sitting on a bed and physical took my cell phone and watch from me, I was treated worse than a prisoner in a third world country. i was lied to about when I would be discharged. I was finally discharged at around 11:45 am the next day after answering 5 questions from a contacted counselor. This is the way a veteran gets treated! All this was about a money grab by the Newport Hospital because i have insurance {United Healthcare} and {VA Healthcare). I did not need to have been admitted. Just Vitals and Blood was all that was required. My out of state Saturday function I was scheduled to attend was missed. Veterans, this is a warning!; you are nothing but guaranteed income for a medical facility. P.S. I can't wait to see what the bill is from the Newport Hospital!

I made the appointment and was asked if I wanted two appts - one with a consultation and one with the extraction. Well of course I didn't want TWO appts, I just wanted to get it done. I did not get a consultation, but when I asked the receptionist why it would be needed, she said "You know to discuss what is needed for your tooth." Well they had an Xray from another dentist. Seemed a waste of time to me. I told them about the anxiety when I made the appt ("I have extreme anxiety, so I may need addtl support during this"), I told them when I showed up (I have anxiety, I need whatever you can provide to make this easier). I told the nurse. I told the doctor. I told everyone who would listen I needed as much support as they had. Everyone nodded. There was no nitrous, no offer of sedation, no additional support beyond "we can numb you longer" which, bless them, is not really helpful when you have severe anxiety. I cried while they extracted it, but I held very very still while crying, except for the trembling, because my childhood taught me to be still during traumatic moments when I am being hurt. There were no blankets offered, no headphones available, no tvs, no distraction. Nothing at all really. Just me in a freezing cold room having trauma done to me. Does it make it any better that my insurance paid for it? Not really. I like to think Dr Castaneda would have offered nitrous or additional supports if they were available to the practice. I would have paid for any of it, no question - we could have afforded it. So clearly they just...don't? Which is awful, really. Not even one sad faded poster on the ceiling for me to stare at instead of a bright light. We are full time nomads. I saw a gyno in Austin, TX who had nitrous for the anxious. Too bad they didn't offer dental work. Spent the evening sobbing and being held. Thanks for the trauma. Will bring it to my therapist next time we meet. (three stars were for getting the tooth out, I suppose, which needed to happen, but holy crap is this going to take time to process)

The staff was so nice. I wasn't nervous at all. From the check in to paying my co pay. Everyone was amazing. I had the woman dentist- forgot her name, her and the 2 assistants were amazing and I felt nothing at all. I hope I don't need to go back but they're awesome I do need to!!!
