Pretty spacious for an airport hotel
    Jennifer T.

After a crummy lost day of travel and missed connections this was a welcome site. Its right at the airport so no need for an uber. Its right in Terminal D. Huge rooms, fancy robes, and a comfy bed. The best part its literally overlooking the airport so you can watch the planes. This was a great night sleep.

This hotel never paid my parking bill at DFW parking office. Since Feb 11, 2025, I've repeatedly had to call front desk to continuously fill out a form that the manager signs and emails to the DFW parking office. I'm continually receiving debt notices from DFW parking office SINCE MARCH 2025 for the balance. Today I spoke with the director of the front desk and he was super condescending and ugly to me telling everything is confidential. I let him know that I actually was given the email to the payments at DFW parking so it's not confidential. He asked then why was I calling? (Gee, I wonder myself why I'm calling and talking to someone so rude and incompetent that's being paid as a director).., so I explained yet again talking very slowwwwwly so he could grasp it. And he said well I'm not going to fill out the form over the phone for you? Well all the front desk people paid less than you filled it out over the phone for me, but I need a copy emailed to me once it's signed cuz obviously I have to take ownership of this AND EMAIL IT IN MYSELF. I realized that I was getting no where so I made a formal complaint to Hyatt customer service at an 800 number. So they created a ticket and I'm hoping to get it handled soon. I'm really disappointed that Hyatt standards are so low in their management choices.

I thought this was a great place to stay for long layovers or to be already at the airport for a very early flight. Reduces the anxiety associated with getting there on time etc. Lovely decor and felt cozy. Getting here was super easy being so close to the baggage claim and checking in was a breeze. It came in handy when I overslept despite knowing about the early flight and still everything went smoothly and made it to the gates with enough time to still get refreshments. The amenities were lovely and it felt spacious. Would be wonderful if all airports had a nice hotel such as this.

"Jet Airliner" - Steve Miller Band. If you have an early flight out of Dallas (ours was 6 AM), this is the perfect place to stay as the hotel is right in the airport terminal (terminal D). It was a bit confusing to find as we went around in circles for a while but managed to find this beauty when we saw the very long escalator leading up to the entrance of the check-in area. Check in was fast, quick, easy, professional and efficient. There were no lines, no waiting. Check out was just as fast at 5AM. There is a card key drop off box if you are leaving very early, but at this hotel, the desk always seemed to be manned by human, unlike some other budget places that have that dreaded "we will be right back sign". Room and Price - Nothing about this hotel is budget, of course; It's a Grand Hyatt. We've stayed at other Hyatts that were not impressive but this one was very nice; At $315 a night it's not exactly budget but we paid for the convenience, and it was also very spacious, modern, clean, comfortable and quiet and a good deal for the price. Automatic shades that go up and down, dark black-out shades if you want to sleep in. Noise - Did not hear a single noise. A good thing about staying in an airport hotel near the runway is that the rooms have extra-good sound-proofing. Huge windows to watch the planes taking off and landing. Entertainment right in your room. Beds - were the most comfortable I've ever slept on in a hotel. I like firm beds. It was firm yet plush at the same time. Pillows were clean and fresh. Sheets crisp and clean-smelling. Bathroom - a large spacious bathroom with a walk- in shower and a separate bathtub. Full amenities including magnified lit mirror, hair dryer. Food - we did not want to go through TSA to get to the food courts in the airport terminal so we took advantage of the Grand Hyatt's Grand Met Restaurant and Bar attached to the hotel. We opted to sit in the bar area to eat appetizers, grab a craft cocktail and a light dinner. See separate review on the Grand Met, which was very good. Other goodies/amenities - Complimentary water and chocolate chip cookies across from check-in counter, and coffee in the morning. There is apparently a pool and gym on the top floor, which I wanted to check out but ran out of time. Return factor: a 100% for sure at this fabulous hotel, and still dreaming about the Grand Met's Cowboy Candy appetizer!

    moldy blanket

After a long day of work and preparing for an early flight, I pulled the blankets up and they were all moldy in the inside. Luckily there were 2 beds in my room and the other blanket wasn't moldy. I have never seen anything like that at all hotel before. When i told the front desk lady she said "we will let housekeeping know. thank you for telling us." Meanwhile, i'm traumatized for the rest of my life thinking hotels are just gross. Although it was convenient to stay next to the airport, I got no sleep because of the mold I saw.

One of the better in-terminal hotels, wake up and walk down to your departure gate. Rooms are beautiful, half overlook the airfield at DFW. Located in Terminal D (American Airlines) take the escalator up from the TSA Security Checkpoint. The restaurant / bar is located lobby level on the 4th floor. Shockingly, the food quality and menu selections are fantastic. Service at the bar was exceptional - thanks David and for the fresh hand-stuffed blue cheese olives. I had a the Garden Salad, Crab Cake Appetizer at the bar, and a Pepperoni Flatbread to go. All items fresh and all were amazing. The salad dressing was a vinaigrette and was notably memorable. Highly recommend to all you weary business travelers out there! I'll be back for sure. Sorry no food pics just the rooms!

As a result of American Airlines failure to keep their aircraft staffed and on time, I had the pleasure of draining my wallet at the grand Hyatt Hotel! My connecting flight was canceled as I was on route to the Dallas airport on the first leg of my trip. After standing in line for an hour and a half at the American Airlines Customer service counter at gate A20, I was told that they would not pay for my hotel and that my next flight would not leave until the following day. However, there are three hotels within the terminals at DFW. I took what I could find and ended up at the Grand Hyatt! I booked a reservation online and made my way to the hotel. The staff at the front desk was very easily the best customer service staff that I have ever experienced at ANY hotel. They were well dressed in suits, extremely well mannered, curteous, and well spoken. Within minutes of my arrival, I had received my room keys and a rundown of the amenities and hours of operation for each. Once in my room, the experience really began! The window shades automatically went up when the door was opened. The lights automatically turned on (and off) for my safety. The bed was more than comfortable and room was adequately spacious. The TV was extremely easy to operate (even for the technically challenged) and looked to be half the size of a KING size bed! Room service was lightening quick and made zero mistakes in my order, although $50 for a burger & fries is quite pricey!! Above all else.... I don't think knives ever seen a cleaner hotel room ANYWHERE! The chrome in the bathroom sparkled! Although my say was just overnight -- I've never had a better hotel experience! They definitely helped my airport woes be forgotten (if even for just a few hours) after such a pleasant stay! Even the airplanes that I could hear leaving were quiet..... RIGHT OUTSIDE MY WINDOW! This just proves to me that you get what you pay for --- now back to work so I can pay off the bill on that charge card!!!

Great hotel for DFW layovers. Clean quiet rooms with a good view of the airport. The staff was friendly professional.

Grand Hyatts remind me of old money. The decor is a little dated, but well-maintained because of continuous upkeep. They always have controls throughout the room to control lights and shades, so you can do on a whim without lifting more than a finger. I've stayed here a few times and look forward to coming back whenever I have a need to be in the DFW area. Restaurant is good. I liked their crab cakes, and they made me a delicious off menu side of broccolini. Gym is great with lots of options. They kept it nice and cool in there. Nice view as well on the top floor.

You can definitely take the sky link to the next terminal. The hotel is just outside of security so you can take your pick if going through security and then the train or vice versa.

There's lots of homeless people outside and not safe in my opinion. Just beware when booking. There wasn't many highly rated restaurants near Omni hotel, had to drive to places. They also host lots of events outside the hotel on their lawn. Hotel is nice. Staffs are super polite and trained. Everything is clean and super decorative. Hotel has restaurants on the first floor, they have small pool, small gym, and spa which you have to pay for. I stayed for two weeks and needed my clothes washed. The hotel does have a service where they send it out to get it washed. But it was insanely expensive. To wash a shirt was around $10. It would have cost me like $150-$200 for a week worth of clothes. I drove 20 min to the nearest coin laundry and spent couple dollars. Would love to see coin laundry in the hotel. Gym: The gym has dumbbells that only go up to 75lb. No barbells. The machine to do back, arms, etc were uncomfortable to use. Pool: Pool is on the same floor as the gym. Can see downtown Dallas. I think it's infinity pool(?) but it's pointing to the hotel building rather than facing downtown Dallas. Room: Room was super nice. The A/C is amazing, works very well. As soon as I got back to room, I set room to 62F. Then to 68F when i got cold. I stayed for 14 days and found out on my last day that there's a fridge hidden in the cabinet. I was super upset about that. The soaps, shampoo, etc are nice. The staff gives you new set even if you are using them and not empty. Price: My rate was $170 through business portal. So probably cheaper. For 14 days (13 nights), I paid little over $3000 due to various taxes and parking your rental car is like $30(?) a day. Really nice hotel, fast elevators, has gym/spa, near freeway and in Downtown Dallas. I just didn't like the environment as soon as you leave the hotel, feels unsafe.

We had breakfast in the hotel and our server was helpful, friendly and had a sense of humor. We visited the pool and were surprised that it was not heated. The hotel gym was decent, could use a better (newer) bench but it had the basics. Our room had everything we needed (the bed was quite soft) and a great view of the eye across the street. My first shower would only get warm and not hot so maintenance had to come up and show me a safely button to push which allows the water to get hot. This was after texting with hotel staff (a very helpful option) but surprising that they didn't just tell me about the button and chose to send maintenance. We were in room 852 on the North side of the hotel and overlooking the eye. We came back from dinner around 10 on Saturday night and were kept awake until about 1:30am. I guess Main St is where people choose to drive their cars with the music so loud it feels as though it's in your hotel room. The motorcycles and cars also like to rev their engines.... A LOT. The windows appear to be single pane and they don't keep any noise out at all. Due to the noise level, I would not recommend staying at this hotel.  Being on the 8th floor and feeling like I was in the cars that were driving on main st and blaring music 2 nights in a row was incredibly disappointing.  If this was a 2 star hotel, okay.  That is not the case.  Upgrade the windows to double or triple pane.  Your location is great, service was friendly and efficient, but one generally wants to sleep at night and that is not possible at your hotel. We even asked the front desk on our second morning if we should change rooms and were told Sunday nights were quiet. I should have listened to my gut as our Sunday night was not quiet. Although the amount of cars & motorcycles wasn't as much as on Saturday, we still heard several cars with music blaring or motorcycles reviving their engines until around 1am. This was the beginning of a long overdue vacation and birthday celebration and it did not get started on the right foot unfortunately.

The lobby store is small and not cheap but it beats a vending machine, especially if you want an ice cream sandwich or fingernail clippers. The "South Beach" pool is saltwater, so it's softer on the skin, eyes, and hair and avoids red eyes, green hair, and pool smell. Location: Though the Cedars district is the industrial historic heart of the Dallas arts scene, it's a bit gritty and has *freeway noise*, with gentrification friction, being a patchwork of high-end luxury lofts sitting right next to dilapidated industrial warehouses, making it feel half vibrant but half abandoned. The Walkability Score is 73, thanks to massive railroad tracks, the I-30, current construction, and inconsistent sidewalks. Be warned this isn't a tree-lined, window-shopping destination like Uptown or Bishop. Finding food, a drink, and even a movie will be much easier than groceries or a pharmacy (though drugs is a different story). I wouldn't feel comfortable with any single female friends/family to stay there by themselves. The very first interaction I had in Dallas, the VERY FIRST was a *ahem* "lady of the night as I was getting out of my Lyft and approaching the front doors of the hotel. She walked directly in my path, looked me in the eye, and with no warning said: "For $50 you can do whatever you want to my asshole" Do you know how hard it is to make me speechless? I muttered and stuttered my way past the woman to check in. Homeless people and working girl are a REAL problem here. In my eight days there every time I left the hotel I ran into one group or the other, some times both. I check in, go to my room, do a quick inspection and in the shower I find.....black mold!!!! An easy enough fix I think, I go downstairs report it to the front desk, go off to the market for supplies, and come back. The front desk guy tells me that he's made a concoction of sorts that gets rid of mold and he's left it in my room for me to apply it in the shower. A VERY WTF moment!! Bro I don't work here, and don't know enough about this chemistry experiment you've cooked up. I go back downstairs and they finally give me a new room. I'm not much of a complainer and I have a clean new room so let's just sleep and see what the next day bring. I wake up and decide to hit the breakfast. I grab some undercooked bacon and potatoes, as I'm grabbing juice I notice the employees were closing everything down (five minutes early but I get it) the really weird/annoying thing was that they were turning the lights off on all the people still eating. It felt like last call at a seedy dive bar. Like I said, I understand wanting to go home but turning the lights out on your guests was a complete and utter FAIL. My last notch in the complain column is that the building itself could really use some attention. When it was raining the ceiling by the front door was flooding like a TLC song. The elevators never seemed clean either. So if I'm going all Final Justice on my review why did I give it a three star and not a one? All the positives come from the front desk agents. Jasmine was the best agent I've had the pleasure to deal with in almost a decade. She was warm, welcoming, and quick as a whip. Every day that I came downstairs she had a different suggestion on where I should go and what I should eat. Honestly if I was building a management team from the ground up, I would poach Jasmine in a heartbeat. So yes on the strength of one employee a hotel gained two stars. Otherwise I can't really recommend stay here until they make some major changes

The bathroom was great, and the shower had the kind of water pressure that makes you want to stay in there longer than you should. The little extras were appreciated, especially the cookies that come out on certain days, and the morning coffee and fruit. The reason I cannot give it five stars is the overall value. The price point sits higher than what you actually get. The room furniture was pretty scratched, the bed sagged in the middle, and we had some maintenance issues on our last morning with the toilet not flushing well and the shower backing up. Nothing trip-ending, but noticeable.

While it is a business area with large beautiful buildings and is safer than other parts of downtown, like all major US cities that we travel to frequently for work, homelessness has increased in the area--be careful walking around, especially at night. As for hotel essentials, on the third floor water pressure and temperate were good. The mattress was good and did not hurt our backs. Lighting in the room was brighter than many other contemporary hotels. Some staff were friendlier than others, but all were at least ok. There is a free hotel shuttle that will take you within 3 miles of the hotel--remember to give the driver a small cash tip. On this visit it seemed like the hotel elevators were in need of service. Although the hotel is known for their themed rooms, we prefer the non-themed ones. Last time we were in an Africa themed room and did not like it. This time we were in a non-themed room and it made our stay much better. The standard room was one of the top nicest and most beautiful rooms we have stayed at on a business trip. The room was spacious, well maintained, had high quality decor, and good aesthetics. We would definitely stay in this room again. There was also a private balcony with a sound/storm door. There was a good desk to work at. There is a business center down the hall, free coffee in the morning on each floor, and free snacks in the lobby in the evening. The hotel is near by several upscale restaurants and a strip mall. The strip mall has a gas station and across in another strip mall a Potbelly Sandwich shop, Smash burger, and an upscale possibly private steak house that took over for Morton's that closed. A little further at 2100 McKinney there is the 2100 Deli that is good for a cheap fast breakfast. The hotel has the Dragonfly restaurant off the lobby. It is more of an upscale sit down experience. We had breakfast here on our previous visit and it was nice. The hotel still seems to us more like a business stay place than a family vacation type stay. However, if on another business trip to the area, we would definitely stay here again.
