From the moment we arrived, everything felt thoughtful, elegant, and exceptionally well cared for. Every morning, we enjoyed the included breakfast on the hotel's enormous outdoor deck overlooking the Gulf of Napoli--a breathtaking view that never got old. It was the perfect way to start each day. We also had dinner on the same terrace and loved it just as much. The food was delicious, and dining with that view made every meal feel special. The service throughout the entire hotel was superb. Every staff member we encountered was warm, attentive, and eager to help, which added so much to the overall experience. Hotel Mary is a beautiful blend of comfort, charm, and luxury, and it made our stay in Vico Equense unforgettable. Highly recommend.

Well, my first trip to Italy did not start out well at all is an understatement. Our flight Friday…read moreout of Phoenix was so delayed that we missed our connecting flight out of Chicago and the best United could do (which will be a separate review on United ), could only get us out Sunday evening!! And, they wouldn't let us have our luggage so we were stuck wearing what we had one for over 3 days! So we didn't get to our hotel til Monday night around 8pm! Our travel agent did a great job staying in touch with the hotel and updating them. When we finally got to the hotel, Francisco who checked us in said, you must be Charley and Gina Walker and mind you he had no idea what we looked like. He made check in flawless and said, we have a table all set up for you in the dinning room and will be taking care of you when you are ready to eat. We were staving and even though we needed showers and change our clothes, we headed straight to the dinning room after getting our luggage to the room. The service we received from the staff was absolutely AMAZING!!! I've never experienced such amazing, warm hospitality and how grateful they were to be of service! I wish we knew all their names so we could include them in the review. But to everyone from the moment we arrived, THANK YOU for your kindness and amazing service really helped us when we had just experienced 3+ travel days of hell trying to make our dream trip, which has been a nightmare, come true. Although those 3 days that we lost of our vacation we will never get back and now has been shortened to 4 days, we are truly grateful for taking care of us when we got here. THANK YOU to everyone!

It was a little awkward traffic backed up, but we found this to be normal in Italy. The hotel is also right next to the light rail (train) line that takes you into Napoli or Sorrento. Once here, we did most of our traveling around on that train line. The Hotel is VERY clean, and smells good! The host team was exceptionally friendly! Our room faced the back, and had no really good view, but that was not important to us. The AC worked well. the beds were clean and free of bed bug sign. Our kids got a bunk bed they liked to use! I think it is modular and can be moved to any room it is needed. The bathroom has nice amenities. Including a towel warmer... Which I did not know I needed :) The Breakfast they served was the best ever! local food, nice environment, large window facing Napoli Bay and Mt. Vesuvius. We looked forward to breakfast every morning. Vico Equense was fantastic! This was the best place we stayed on our trip!

The hotel faces the hill side filled with homes and churches and also looks out to the Bay of Naples and Mt. Vesuvias. It is an easy walk to the beach - though the beach isn't very happening after the summer time. On our first day, we got a regular standard room with a balcony facing the town. It faced the gas station and the train station. It was a clean room but super noisy because of where the room was situated. It was in between rooms and I could hear doors slamming and neighbors talking. If you are sensitive to noise, I wouldn't recommend getting this room. We changed rooms the next day and they gave us one that was tucked in the corner and not sandwiched in between rooms. The sound situation was much better and I slept so much better the next night. I happened to pass the ocean view room during house keeping and saw the beautiful view. We asked the front desk to upgrade and paid the extra fees. It was a spectacular room. If this room is available, I highly recommend getting it. It faces out to the ocean and it is pretty big. The bathroom is pretty large too. I loved the patio area where it faces the bay. You get a pretty amazing view. The breakfast every morning was very nice. They had plenty of food and a good selection. The front desk people were all very very nice. They tried to accommodate us to the best that they could. It would be a five star hotel in my book but the noise factor was a problem for me. I highly recommend staying here.

Dash was an excellent server and very attentive. The snacks they gave with our cocktails were also delicious. The cocktails were good. Of note, in Italy, cocktails are just basic mixed drinks but they were still well made and tasted delicious so that's what matters. They also had an extensive cocktail list which was nice as most of the Amalfi Coast doesn't have an extensive cocktail list. The view here is gorgeous. It is a really nice romantic place or also just a place to watch the sky change colors as the sun goes down. It's a phenomenal view.

Service was top notch, the owners constantly said hi to every single one of their guests and everything was ...just magnificent. We got a free upgrade the first night to a suite, beautiful balcony views and large room! They moved our luggage the following night to our reserved room and I loved our view there as well. We dined at Il Tridente the first night and food was superb! Make sure you try their deliza limone! I will never forget my days here and Hotel Poseidon topped it off with a relaxing, beautiful and comfortable stay. They made us feel like family :)
