I drove out all the way from Chicago because this shop was highly recommended by a friend. They did a phenomenal job. It's a family owned and operated shop. Father and three sons run the shop. I have a 2010 Audi S5 and the dealership wanted over $600 for an oil change and rear break pad replacement. They said it was because it was a special filter plus full synthetic oil and that the rear brakes required an electronic parking brake release. A lot of shops around Chicago said they couldn't do the rear brakes because they didn't have the right computer or something like that. I brought it to this shop and they did everything for $250. I saved about $400 and they did a great job. They are friendly and go out of their way to do the job right. One of the sons showed me an advertisement for Advance Auto Parts with synthetic oil plus filter on sale for $30 and then explained how I can easily change the oil myself in the future. What kind of mechanic would do that for their customer? Only an honest one in my book. I highly recommend this shop.

After test driving the car, we realized it had some serious mechanical issues. We were still very interested in the car and had talked to the owner of the dealership about fixing the mechanical issues and then we would purchase the car the next day. The next morning we kept trying to get ahold of the owner, but we were only able to get a mechanic on the phone, who said he was only instructed to fix one of the problems we had spoken about with the owner the day before. After a few more hours of not getting a phone call back from anyone, we decided to stop in. The owner was in the office and tried to make excuses for why he had not returned our calls. When we asked if the issues with the car had been addressed he tried to convince us there were no issues and that the car was in perfect condition. My husband, a mechanic himself, knew there was something wrong with the car. The owner obviously thought he could sucker us into buying the car and not fix whatever problem there was. When my husband tried to shake his hand and say thanks anyways (because we might have come back in the future to look at other cars) , the owner refused to shake his hand and told him to " just get the hell out". We were shocked that he was speaking like that, and we started out the door. As we were walking out he yelled after us, trying to provoke my husband, saying "you can't even pay for this car yourself you f@#&king mooch, you have to borrow money from someone else." Which is completely untrue. We wanted to finance the car as an opportunity to build our credit, even though we could have paid for it outright. Needless to say, after that rough exchange of words, we will never be stepping foot on that lot again, not recommending them to anyone. Beware working with this dealer, as they are rude and extremely unprofessional.

Metal on metal, no pad left on any of the brakes. Cost of 4 new rotors and a brake job: 800.00$ Ed Dunne, when confronted about this, claimed the brakes were "just fine" and called me and my fiancee liars. Ed Dunne sells unsafe cars to unsuspecting, trusting people. Please think about the type of person who would sell anyone a car with 4 bad brakes... Only the worst type of person would sell a car with 4 bad brakes to anyone. He couldn't care less if they get in an accident and become crippled or die. If he did, he wouldn't be selling a car with bad brakes. But he made an extra 800 bucks! See how well that works for Ed Dunne? The man, seriously, has no conscience. Long story short: If your even thinking about doing business with this man, Ed Dunne, simply hit the gas and keep on driving till you find another dealership. He lies, cheats people and sells people unsafe vehicles, all to make MORE profit! He does not treat customers well at all. Total contempt would be the best way to describe how he views customers. So between me, her and my fiancee, there is 3 people who won't ever get cheated by Ed Dunne ever again! Ed Dunne is a bad person, with poor character and no morals. That is the only type of person that can sell a car with no brakes to unsuspecting shoppers. Good people couldn't do that because they have a conscience. I myself, couldn't do it. It wasn't a mistake on his part. He knew they were bad. But he made the decision to sell it in its unsafe condition and roll the dice with our lives. It's just how he does business. He is a bad person with no morals. Put his dealership in your rear view mirror now and drive to the next dealership. He will screw you too if you give him the opportunity. Don't! And lastly, Ed Dunne sold us a car with outstanding recalls on all of the airbags without informing us. I guess this is ok, if you want airbags that shoot shrapnel into your face in an accident. Not sure about you, but that's my least favorite thing to happen when the airbags go off. We took it to Macgrath Honda in Crystal Lake and had it fixed for free. Total time: 77 minutes. And that's 77 minutes of free work that Ed Dunne, if he was a good person with good morals, would surely have gotten done prior to selling the vehicle. Especially since it was free. But he couldn't care less whether his cars are road safe or not. All that matters to Ed Dunne is making a few extra hundred bucks on each sale. Safety be damned! He couldn't care less if you buy a car and die a half an hour later because it had no brakes or the airbags shoot shrapnel into your face on impact. He got paid and that's all that matters to this used car salesman. Buyer beware!

They professionally perform the work you request for a fair (not cheap) price. Occasionally they point out another repair/concern but never jump into it until walking you through their opinion (sometimes we do the work, sometimes we let it ride). Above all else, they are trustworthy. Finally, I've been at the counter several times when someone comes in with a vehicle blowing smoke and driving sideways, asking to make it run like new. Or worse yet, some hungover/strung-out person comes in screaming that they have to have their properly towed vehicle immediately! Its contents immediately!! Ect.!!! Simply put, no one likes the warden when YOU have done something very wrong.

Not honest. When we moved to the area the stem for our tire valve broke. I had a injury so I called…read moreahead of time and had a female family member bring in the tire. I knew the valve could simply be replaced by removing it from the tire pressure monitoring sensor (TPMS) threaded inlet. Well they failed the honesty test for a simple cheap repair. She was quoted $200 to order a new TPMS and valve assembly. That's what happens when you own a car with a fancy emblem I suppose. Too bad for them I know a thing or two about cars and didn't fall for their inflated quote for an unnecessary repair. All they had to do was unscrew the valve assembly and replace it but all they cared about was screwing us over. She brought the tire to discount tire who fixed the valve for free while she waited. I wouldn't trust this shop especially if you're an "outsider" and new to the area. This was a easy repair imagine if I brought it in for a check engine light they could have really inflated the repair estimate.

i was looking for an honest car shop. i thought a/c auto was it after junior called out work…read moreanother car shop did not do properly on my veichle. however, they charged me for it. i appreciate that greatly. so i truly thought i made the right choice bringing my vehicle to them. i initially came in for new tires, however, i wanted junior to check the work a prior shop did. unfortunately, turns out a/c auto mechanics that worked on my vehicle created additional problems with my truck as well after i spent $5000 with them in cash. they kept adding things on that "supposedly " need to be did. when i took my truck to them my baby was running very smoothly with no sound or shaking. no check engine light was on or thermostat issues, nor was my truck doing the "harlem shake". that evening after getting off work all these things happened simultaneously. after spending the amount of money i did, this was the last thing anyone look to happen. i took my truck back to him the following day disappointed of the mechanics work. junior stated the rack and pinion was a big job, he'll re- check it. junior told me not to worry he'll fix the problem. after rechecking my truck he stated the rack and pinion was now done correctly and it should be fine going forward. at least this is what i was hoping. 3 days later the check engine light came back on and my vehichle started shaking again. only this time after returning to the shop he says it's a cylinder 5 misfire. i just had my emmisions test did prior to bringing a/c auto my truck. i showed junior my pass emmission test i took right before his mechanics started working on my truck. i reminded junior these problems was the very reason i brought my vehicle back to their shop after they've supposedly repaired it the 1st time. i told junior to put his self in my shoes. knowing he paid to have work did just for this to be the experience. he shook his head saying his mechanics did nothing wrong with my truck. his mechanics also broke my water pump while doing the rack and pinion. junior had the nerve to say they put another water pump on free of charge. later admitting they broke it and put "a good used water pump" in place of the one they broke. ugh!! so many things occurred that never should have. i'm not accusing junior personally, if he wasn't the one working on my vehicle. however, i do know his mechanics are very dishonest. if he's aware of it, after defending them the way he did. then he's just as big of a crook as his mechanics are. #where #are #the #honest #mechanics
