The first couple of times I went to check out, I got this feeling that I was unwelcome. It was the same guy at the counter both times, and he was just silent as I stood there. I came back when I saw them listed as carrying Dale's Pale, and have never seen that employee again. Now, in the larger location, the staff is all friendly as can be. Recently, they spent a long time picking through their distributor's catalog to find a bottle of Root for me. They ordered it with no money up front, and it came in only a few days. I was definitely pleased with the experience. They have a large selection of craft beers. The last time I was in there, they no longer had Dale's Pale. It was rather heartbreaking for me, and am hoping that it just happened to be out of stock. Still, they have a great selection of other beers. They have a ton of wine to choose from, and a large selection of hard liquor. It's a huge, clean store with friendly staff. They also cleaned up the parking lot recently, fixing the rough spots. The staff has always been friendly, and the store is very clean. They don't have a huge selection here, but they have a nice variety for such a small area. The store is really clean, and not cramped in the least. I love the beer coolers. They're all wood-trimmed, and are unlike anything I've seen anywhere else. They have a real vintage look...which probably means they are vintage. If you're heading out to the lake, and you need some beer, Saunders is worth checking out.

First of all, they've got a full line-up of snacks, drinks, and an ice cream cooler. Okay, that's really all I got. Apparently, it's illegal to sell things like potato chips and ice cream at Connecticut package stores. So, hop over the border and see what freedom is like. The parking area isn't the biggest, but it's right across the street from the Skybox, which has a huge parking lot. My system is to park at the bar, walk over to Oak 'n Keg for supplies, throw them in my car, then belly up to the bar. It's in a great location for alcohol hobbyists, has average prices, and an okay selection. It's worth a stop.
