The food was amazing, service was nice, and the patio was very comfortable near the river. We had 6 people. My wife had chicken schnitzel with a side of spaghetti (rather than French fried), I had ziti with chicken & zucchini, others had veal schnitzel, pasta with ham, caprese salad and some bread. Everyone liked their meal and said how it was nice to stay in town. When the meals were served they provided everyone with some shaved Parmigiana cheese in cute little holders - why doesn't every Italian restaurant in the world do that? Plus they provided us Americans two bowls of large ice cubes for our water. They had a large choice of beer, wine & cocktails. It was August and we had temps in the mid-70s, so it was very comfortable sitting on the patio at 7 pm. They also have clean restrooms. Very friendly servers who spoke & understood English well.

Nice ambiance and connected to a hotel. My wife and I began with the fresh salad of the day. Generous portions and everything was fresh. I know it is an Italian restaurant but we wanted to sample some German culture so we had the breaded Chicken Schnitzel with French fries and cranberries. It was a good choice. Two thinly cut pieces of chicken breast fried to perfection and the French fries were cooked fresh and needed no seasoning. The service was very good and friendly and English was not a problem with our waiter. The prices were very good and it would have been more expensive in the United States. There were lots of options in town and we chose the right one.

It tasted more like a very watery tomato soup. I returned it immediately and expecting to be deleted from the bill. But no, the waiter said that there was nothing he could do about it and I still have to pay. So, I paid for the nasty soup I returned but didn't tip the waiter so we broke even. Do not order the onion soup. You've been warned.

I like to try seasonal specialties, and during our June visit, every restaurant in Rudesheim was offering a seasonal white asparagus dish. So I ordered the paperdelle sparger, pasta with white asparagus. This was a mistake. The dish was well prepared, but the white asparagus just didn't work with paperdelle. Hubby was smarter and went with classic Italian: spaghetti pomodoro, and scaloppine alla Pizzaiola (like puttanesca without red pepper) with salad. He was thrilled with the spaghetti, which tasted just like his Neapolitan Nonna's spaghetti. It was the best spaghetti he ever had in a restaurant! These three dishes, along with a glass of pinot grigio and a bottle of water, totaled 44.90€ with tax. Considering the touristy location and the excellent food, a bargain!
