After having a pretty rough couple of years economically, things still aren't great on the job front. Many people have experienced redundancy or have had to work on reduced hours. I was one of them.
A number of months ago I spotted a job I would be interested in and it was through Grafton Recruitment., so I duly sent them across my CV. They left me a voicemail with a brief description of the job, and said the employer wanted to see me at a certain time.
I was somewhat taken aback, as most agencies, even the very small ones, will want you to come in to register personally, and have a chat with you about what sort of jobs you are looking for, I got none of this. When I tried to call back to discuss it further, the consultant was not available and despite my best efforts, never returned my calls.
I attended the interview at the time left on my voicemail and spoke to the employer, but unfortunately the job was not for me. Again I had no luck getting speaking to the consultant, so had to leave a message with my feedback.
Over the following weeks, I noticed a number of other jobs of interest which I tried to get in contact about ,but still no one had the courtesy to even respond. I am now in a fantastic job that I love, but no thanks to this agency, I would not use them in future. read more
