Well, I finally got a chance to come back to Augusta and attend an event hosted here (85th Birthday Celebration). The facility (multiple banquet halls) was nice inside and out. The banquet rooms can be set up anyway you arrange. The banquet staff was very polite and attentive. However, the food was a little disappointing. The Tempura Fried Fish Filets were wayyy over cooked (dark brown and brittle), the string beans and sliced carrot were tooo salty, the roasted turkey and garlic mashed potatoes were decent, and peach cobbler was just okay. Having organized many business seminars on the west coast (and one of sisters owned an event planning company in Los Angeles) I would suggest that you request a tasting, if possible. Or maybe this place needs to just get a new chef. Not sure what was going on with the ladies room. It appeared clean but wreaked of urine(?). I am a super clean person and having owned a business with public bathrooms ... odors mean something was not sanitized correctly(with bleach solution). Back to the positive side of things... The food presentation was nice as was the dining area. Table was set up nicely. However, there was only one water glass per setting (no glass for the pitchers of tea and lemonade?). Neither were there dessert plates, salad forks or spoons in the setups? Never seen this before(?) I drank up my water to empty the glass to try one of the other drinks on the table. Same with my fork. I kept the same fork to eat my salad and dinner. There was a dessert fork above the place setting but you had to plate the dessert (peach cobbler) onto your dinner plate as you went through the buffet line. Never seen this before(?) So, the bottom line as in any event you plan you'll have to work very closely with the catering manager. I would ask specifics about your place settings and food. Nice facility though.

Recently I visited for a Women In Business event hosted by the Augusta Chamber of Commerce. They used two of the spaces, which were decorated beautifully. They used one room for a pre-reception and bar area. The other space was where the main event took place. The venue is spacious. I believe the catering is in-house. We enjoyed the meal. If they are in-house they were prepared with vegetarian options, which is always a plus. There is plenty of parking in front and behind the venue. It can be hard exiting the venue parking lot, but it won't take too much time. This is a great place for weddings, upscale events.

I think the masks made it hard for them to see because they often did not have them over their eyes, instead they placed them in their foreheads. But the hostesses were very nice, good with kids, and polite. The decor was perfect, they had face painting, games, music, it was clean, comfortable, and I could not ask for more. Lavishly Posh does all of the work, even the invitations, which turn out looking really cute. They also take lots of pictures & put them in a disc for your keepsake. All that I had to do is bring the food & cake and they set it up with warm catering trays even. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone who needs help organizing a party. The staff at the Augusta Convention Center was very accommodating and professional throughout the day. The venue is large and has many rooms that can be used for event purposes. The venue also has good decor. Additionally, restrooms are throughout the venue and easily accessible. The parking is great. A large parking deck is located directly across the street from the venue. The Augusta Convention Center is a great venue for conventions and large scale events. The staff will take care of you. There are costs associated, but all in all the event will be in a state of the art facility in the heart of downtown Augusta.

I decided we could stop by early one afternoon to miss out on the high volume of people. We came today, Tuesday Jan. 26 around 1-2pm. When we got here there was only one other family, so that was really nice. Eventually they finish up and leave, and we were in there on our own. The woman working was nice and didn't rush us. My kids finally picked out their pieces and then we went to get colors. At the other location in Evans, they use to let us get quite a few choices but she specifically said they could only get 4 each. That was a little disappointing. The only minor issue is I had to grab a little water bowl from another table since ours didn't have one. Besides that, painting goes smoothly and we finish up. There's a sink outside of the bathroom, unlike the other store, and I find that really great. My daughter could wash her hands while I kept my eye on my son at the same time. Paying is simple. Since prices are listed where you pick pieces, you'll know a rough estimate. I asked if they did military or if it's only on Fridays, and she said they don't do it at all. That's a little sad given how populated the area is with military families, but I understand it could be because of Covid and hardships too. Another thing I'm only slightly concerned about, and I may have missed her do it, but I'm not sure if tables or brushes are properly sanitized. Sure they're wiped down from paint, but people are still sitting down, masks off, breathing all over the tables. If I come back to sit and paint, I'll be sure to bring some Clorox wipes to be safe.
