    A Nanny Connection

Being a first-time parent in the age of COVID19…read more.. We made an early decision to hire a night nanny/Newborn Care Specialist, since we were first-time parents without easy access to parents or relatives who can provide effective childcare support. We also have concerns over a smooth recovery period after giving birth, which requires sleep and rest for her. As for me, I value sleep too! The first few months for an infant is a critical time, so we wanted some professional help. After talking to several agencies, I decided to go with Robin to help us find a night nanny for 3 months. Robin was responsive to our questions (before and during COVID) and was transparent with her fees. The placement fee for a 3 month contract was very reasonable compared to other agencies. Best of all, she found us the perfect night nanny, G.G. G.G. worked for us 40 hrs/week on weekdays and did all the usual night nanny duties of feeding, burping, changing, cleaning, etc. while we were able to get uninterrupted sleep. G.G. managed to get our son (now 3 months old) able to sleep through the night, 6pm to 7:30am. Yes, you can learn to feed and burp a baby while he's half asleep! A good night nanny also serves as a friend and mentor - we learned so much childcare tips from G.G. that there is hope we can be decent parents, LOL! Although she works only at night for us, G.G. gives great suggestions for daytime care, what baby supplies to buy, feeding schedules, and suggested play activities. Hiring a nanny is risky during COVID19, but not having adequate child care (we are amateurs!) and not getting sufficient time to recover is also risky to our health. It was a calculated risk on our part, and I believe everything worked out. I highly recommend Robin for your specific nanny needs, especially if you're looking for a night nanny.

We had a very disappointing experience with this nanny agency. The business practices felt…read moreextremely unprofessional from the start -- we were never asked to sign a clear agreement outlining fees, guarantees, or policies before the search began. Terms discussed verbally (including a 6-month guarantee and a placement fee equivalent to 6 weeks of the nanny's pay) did not match the contract posted online, which stated no guarantees/refunds and a different fee structure for part-time placements. Communication was rushed and disorganized, consisting mostly of hastily written emails with little clarity around timelines, process, or next steps. Candidate quality was also highly questionable and often far outside the criteria we provided. One candidate was a no-show to the interview and had full voicemail/email inboxes with extremely poor communication. Another lived 1.5 hours away each direction in traffic, making the role unrealistic. Another openly described wanting "something easy" after being out of work and had no meaningful nanny experience. Out of four candidates, only one was a strong fit. When I raised concerns about inconsistencies between the verbal terms and the online contract, instead of discussing it professionally over the phone as requested, the agency responded with multiple hostile emails accusing me of trying to take advantage of them. I also noticed that many of the agency's positive reviews appear to be written by nannies rather than families who actually paid for placement services, which in hindsight feels somewhat misleading. Ultimately, we found an excellent nanny ourselves through Facebook groups. For the $6k+ fee, the experience was simply not worth the stress and lack of professionalism.

Mimi genuinely cares for every child like her own and has decades of experience. Her daughter Mahdis occasionally helps out and the kids adore her; she's just as caring as Mimi. We get daily photos and videos that brighten our whole day. Meals and snacks are healthy and delicious. Our daughter comes home happy every evening. On nice days the kids play in her backyard. Mimi is incredibly flexible, quick to respond, and teaches manners with the perfect mix of warmth and consistency. The holiday decorations are always a huge hit with the little ones. We couldn't ask for better care. Highly recommend Mimi!

She has so much experience and knowledge on babies/kids and sends us updates throughout the day. You can tell that Mimi truly loves all of the kids SO much, and it is definitely reciprocated - all the babies/kids LOVE her! Mimi's daughter, Mahdis, also helps with the little ones occasionally, and she also just loves them all so much. My daughter has grown so much socially & emotionally in the time she has been with Mimi. Her home is clean, organized, and provides a safe and loving environment for the babies and kids to learn, grow, and thrive. Mimi also provides healthy home-cooked meals for the kids, and goes above and beyond to puree some of the food she makes for the older kids for my daughter. I would recommend Mimi to any parent looking for a caring, dependable, and exceptional daycare provider who will make your child feel so loved. We feel incredibly lucky to have found her!

There is never any hesitation from our son when he goes to her home for the day. We will also get a daily verbal report of our how our son did when we pick him up. She provides nutritious and home cooked meals for the children and offers them activities, which includes art and music. At 18 months, my daughters exposure to adults have all been family, however Ms. Mau is the exception at this amazing facility with great teachers. Ms. Mau is very patient, professional, kind, and experienced. Before making a decision to join the Building Kidz family, it put my mind at ease seeing their 18 month teacher Ms.Mau interact and lead the toddlers during a facilities tour. She really embodies the mission and importance of early childhood education. It as only been a week in the classroom but I can see the change a classroom with structured lesson plans make on my daughter. We went from high chair feeding and assisted naps to solo feeds and self soothing nap times. My daughter now looks forward to seeing her teacher Ms. Mau at school. Thank you Ms. Mau for taking this first time worried parent and making the transition painless for my daughter and I. Look forward to the great daily communication and reports of my daughter's progression

Because of job relocations, we've moved around quite a bit, and this is our fourth daycare. I can say without hesitation that this center has been the most meaningful and reassuring experience we've had. From the moment my children started here at age 3, the sincerity and genuine care shown to them every single day has been nothing short of a gift. Mom guilt is very real, and trusting someone else with your children's hearts, growth, and well-being is no small thing. Knowing my kids are loved, supported, and truly seen when they're here has been a huge stress relief for me. What stands out most is the way the staff partners with parents. Whenever one of my children has needed a little extra encouragement or a gentle push in a certain area, it has never felt one-sided. Instead, we collaborate--sharing strategies, tools, and resources--to support them together. That level of communication, care, and intentionality is rare and incredibly appreciated. My twins are growing not just academically, but emotionally and socially, and I truly believe that's because of the environment this center creates. They feel safe, confident, and excited to learn--and as a parent, that means everything. We are so grateful for the dedication, compassion, and love poured into our children every day. Building Kidz of San Ramon has been a constant for our family during a life full of transitions, and I cannot recommend it highly enough to any parent searching for a place where their children will be genuinely cared for.

We have had two really really bad communication issues both from their main office (both involving Morgan Everett) one was years ago that I've let go, this recent one was this last weekend and one of the worst parts is Morgan never apologizes for the situation. This time we had a caregiver reach out to myself directly and say she tested potive for covid on the 30th of Dec. fast forward to today Jan. 3 at 9:30 and I still haven't heard from the office about it. I inquired why I haven't heard and Morgan said "they are working to inform all the families she worked with and re-schedule her assignments this morning, and because of the holiday they are just getting around to it". I have kids in public school and daycare and they still haven't felt the need to inform us that the girl who was in our home the day before she tested positive has covid if she hadnt told me herself I probably still wouldn't know ‍. I don't blame the girl/caregiver at all but for the love of God they didn't communicate about the positive test without me asking and they can at least apologize for anything at all! It's insane to me and terrible customer service super disappointed that this is still how this this agency is being run as it's a great concept and under the old owner the service and communication was way better (3 yrs ago it changed owners I believe).
