I came in at 9:00 am (the only slot they had- they seem to book up fast), and my photoshoot was at 4:00 so I was a little nervous- but my hair held up wonderfully and I'm obsessed with the photos. As for other logistics- they validate parking so that helps a lot. The instructions to find the place are pretty clear, I just had to double check my email when I arrived. This place is the bomb. Seriously. My stylist was Isis…read more I got an appointment at the last minute for a cut and color. I brought in photos of the color I wanted, the approximate length, and a verbal description of what I was looking for in a style. I was worried it would not come out well because I've had really bad experiences with getting my hair cut (see previous review of Fringe), but this place went above and beyond. I got the exact cut I wanted and the color is spot-on. Apparently this salon is pretty new (only open for a few months). But if you're considering coming here - do it. You won't regret it. Isis spent A LOT of time on my cut and color (almost 3.5 hours) and it only cost $85!! Amazing. Even with the $20 tip, that's still significantly less than most places in D.C. would charge. She was thorough, very nice, and continually asked me if I was okay (is the water too warm or cold when shampooing? How long would you like the side-sweep? Do you want some water?). It's rare to find this level of professionalism, courtesy, and talent with such a reasonable price tag. Especially in the D.C. area. I needed a stylish, yet professional cut with a rich and vibrant color. I got it. I'm so ecstatic with this haircut. It's gorgeous. I will definitely be coming back.

Initially, back in May of this year 2023, I was excited to have read the reviews about Danielle and…read moreher salon. My first two appointments and subsequent hairstyles were great. However, my last appointment on October 13th, the outcome is not positive, and thus, I am leaving my review and pictures to substantiate the 1 star. 98% of my communications with Danielle is through text messages. I understand each industry has their own pricing, and I realize that the cost of weaves can be expensive. My weaves are $495 every 6-7 weeks. ($210 for the hair & $285 for the shampoo/quick weave). September 25th, I paid for the hair and asked if Danielle did sew-in weaves vs quick weaves using bonding glue. She does. it's $300. OK. $15 more than my current cost of $285. The day of my appointment, I agreed with Danielle's professional advice to have her sew in the last row in the back instead of sewing in the entire weave which is what I asked for through text. It's November 11th and my hair is coming apart. I don't think for $495, I should be gluing in tracks. I texted Danielle about how much is a touch up because the back is still a problem and no response . "Still" means I have issues in the past.

I took my daughters to this hair braiding salon after calling ahead, sending photos of the styles I…read morewanted, and confirming the price with the owner. When we arrived, two braiders began working on each child. One daughter was getting box braids, and the other was getting medium twists. While the braider working on the twists was moving quickly, I noticed she wasn't twisting the hair tightly enough. When I asked about it, she told me she didn't want the style to be too tight on my daughter's scalp. After both girls were finished, their hair was dipped in hot water to seal the ends. However, I noticed the ends of my daughter's twists were already looking loose, so I pointed it out and they dipped them again. When it was time to pay, the owner suddenly tried to increase the price, claiming he hadn't checked with the braiders. This was despite the fact that I had already confirmed the style and price beforehand. We were running late, so I didn't want to argue. He could tell I was unhappy and eventually charged me the original quoted price. We left and went to a nearby restaurant. Less than 20 minutes later, our server walked over and handed me strands of hair, saying, "I think this belongs to your daughter." Her twists were literally unraveling and shedding hair all over the restaurant. I had just paid over $150, and the style was already falling apart before we had even finished dinner. Several stands were completely stripped and all the hair fallen off. When I returned to the salon, the braider refused to take responsibility. Instead, she blamed me because I had asked her to trim the ends. Any experienced braider should know that if the ends are trimmed, they still need to be properly sealed. There was absolutely no accountability, no apology, and no genuine effort to make the situation right. My daughter is only 8 years old and had already sat through hours of braiding, only to leave with a hairstyle that unraveled almost immediately. The entire experience was extremely unprofessional, from the attempted price increase to the poor quality work and lack of customer service. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others to avoid this salon. There is a reason the shop was empty on a Sunday afternoon. I have photos and videos documenting the condition of my daughter's hair less than 20 minutes after leaving.
