I came to Amanda (beyond desperate) two and a half weeks before my wedding, and she was so compassionate and reassuring and out of the kindness of her heart (and finagling of her schedule) was able to make my wedding dreams come true. She truly makes you feel heard, respected, and important throughout the whole process, from fast response times to guiding you through the process, to face-to-face interactions with friends and family. She was able to squeeze me in for a trial and put me instantly at ease, allowing my mother-in-law to sit in on the session, turning on my favorite music, and walking me through the process as she did it. She was able to take my desire for glam and my husbands desire for me to have more natural looking makeup into a beautiful compromise that left us both stunned. This woman arrived at our venue at 4:45 AM and worked on my mother, grandmother, four of my bridesmaids and myself! She was the absolute sweetest and everyone loved her. One of many examples - she noticed I was hot and made sure to move the big fans to me and gave me her own personal hand fan. Her great attention to detail and the way she strives for as close to perfection as possible made me confident that I could relax, that I was in good hands. I had the good fortune of having my hair done here by two different stylists and both women gave me amazing results! I had seen Kelli Gonzales regularly about 10 years ago at a previous salon. Last winter, I found out she had set up shop at The Mix and I started following her body of work on social media. She told me she was fully booked and wasn't taking new clients, but she put me on her cancellation list. I was thrilled when, due to a last minute cancellation last week, I was finally able to get on her schedule for a quick cut and style. I'll take it! Kelli reinvigorated my boring ol' hair with the lift and volume I needed and gave me just the look I was trying to achieve. I told her that I would be returning to The Mix in about a week for an appointment with Diane Makasian to take care of the longer process of coloring and Kelli took the time to discuss what tones would look best for my hair. Leading up to my appointment, Diane was very receptive to communicating via text message to discuss what look I was trying to achieve. Unlike Kelli, I didn't know Diane previously but I booked with her due to the fabulous word of mouth reviews I had heard. We traded pictures and dialogue and I felt very comfortable going in to see her for the first time and trusting her expertise. At the appointment, she took her time and explained her coloring technique to me and how it would look considering the old (store bought - a big no-no!) hair color remnants that were still on my hair. Also, I would be completely remiss if I didn't mention this woman gives an out-of-body experience scalp massage. I was practically levitating in the chair! Diane did an amazing coloring job on me, toning my hair with golden honey hues to give me a more youthful, without being washed out, look. It was exactly what I wanted and I couldn't be happier! All in all I feel very fortunate to have had my hair done at this salon by two very talented, experienced ladies. Stop looking for other salons, this is it!
