Food at the restaurant was delicious. We tried different dishes each time we went and enjoyed all of them. Service was great and the noise level from the bands playing by the water isn't too loud at the restaurant. Looking forward to more happy hours next summer!

She was friendly, professional, straightforward & answered all questions I had whether it was via text, email or phone call. Sonya was on top of all the details & made sure everything ran smoothly. The Maitre'd, WOW. She ran a smooth ship. She was right there if you needed her. Her attention to detail & customer service was fantastic. You could tell she wanted everyone to have a good time. You wouldn't have guessed there was an issue as she was right there to make sure things ran seamlessly. The rest of the staff of the boathouse from bartenders, to servers, chef, etc was fantastic! They made our day special & I cannot thank them enough! Everyone raved at how good the food was & that they enjoyed cocktail hour on the deck overlooking the lake. I believe Jennifer was our server who took care of my husband & I, making sure we had food in our bridal suite, tidying things up, that our drinks were always filled & just really wanting to make sure we were comfortable & taken care of throughout the evening. The boathouse met our needs & was perfect for us. I highly recommend!

The good thing is the parking valet's were very prepared and courteous. Once inside, a lovely hostess showed us to our room. The room was a nice size. Everything was decorated beautifully. The staff was very friendly and attentive, so much so I went to take a picture of the cake during our lunch and it was already gone, cut up and beautifully plated. A Vanilla Cake and Fruit Pastry with Custard. Our bartender was sweet, kind, and very happy. My girlfriend's and I told him to go easy on the OJ and heavy on the champagne for a mimosa, and he laughed. He poured our drinks exactly the way we like them.It was much appreciated. To start us off they served a huge Charcuterie Board with crackers to start. Then we went on to a Caesar salad, which was very good. Fresh hot bread was placed on my table. There was a lovely dish on the table with butter that was shaped like a big rose. We were originally given several choices for our entree. I chose to have their Salmon. The salmon was delicious very flavorful butter sauce and it was a good size. It came with yellow rice and steamed fresh String beans. For dessert there was a beautiful cake, and a pastry fruit tart. Coffee and tea were served with it. The room itself was a comfy chair surrounded by all the lovely shower gifts. I would highly recommend having a bridal shower, birthday party, or affair here. They really did a lovely job.

    Grounds For Sculpture

    Grounds For Sculpture

Can you tell which are statues?…read more Years ago I went to Grounds For Sculpture, a 42 acre outdoor and indoor art exhibit with gorgeous gardens and every type of art you can learn and imagine. My boys were too young to appreciate it back then. This time we did it differently. Prior to going, we did a lesson on different types of art. We created slides to help teach us different types of art. I have included the slides so you can share these to your kids as an art lesson. While we were at the Grounds For Sculpture, I have to tell you... the way the Realism Art, Pop Art, and Abstract Impression Art Blended with its natural surroundings, my eyes began to play tricks on me! For a split second, regular people sitting on a bench looked like statues too! It's very well done! This place creates a dream like state. Go to the Meadow section first! It's a lot of walking so don't go on a hot day. #groundsforsculpture #nj #art

This may sound overly exuberant, but I love this place!…read more Founded in 1992 by J. Seward Johnson (a Johnson & Johnson heir) his goal was to build a contemporary sculpture garden for the public to enjoy. The property was initially the site of the Jersey fairgrounds and later the Trenton Speedway. (It's so peaceful and lovely here, it's hard to imagine the raucous noise of racecars.) We signed up for a walking tour -- free with the price of admission -- which runs for about an hour. In addition, friendly docents walking around the grounds stopped to chat offering great information -- even some juicy gossip! Be sure to pull up the app on your phone which we found helpful. The garden is closed Tuesday. One of the sites said admission is timed, but mid-week we were able to simply show up. Note that veterans and seniors pay reduced admission. Parking is free and there's a restaurant/coffee shop in the welcome center that's an inviting place to refuel. The photos I snapped are the garden's realistic representations, but there's a whole host of contemporary sculpture, all very different with their own stories.
