I was there for 7 months and I can count on one hand the amount of lessons given. The children were allowed to run, scream, yell all day. No learning was happening, instead they were coloring/crafting all day. There was zero communication between the guide and the assistants, I was also told I needed to be dismissive to the children, one day a child was crying on the floor because the guide had completely ignored them. A math work I had noticed many of the children needed a lesson or a refresher, I told the guide and the guides response "I just assumed they knew because I wasnt their guide last year"! Thats the kind of guides they have at MCS. The school is also very dirty, they do not have janitorial staff, instead they make the assistants clean bathrooms and mop floors. There is mold in those buildings due to the lack of cleanliness. By the time I left, 3-4 other people had already left due to how poorly ran the school is, my advice, check the other Montessori school in the area or the ones closer to Wilmington. This one is a Montie-sorta.

This school has many problems. Our children attended this school for years, and the elementary part…read morewasn't "too" bad. I did have to address things with the teachers every year; from bullying to the teacher's inattentiveness. The class size is just as bad as the public schools. One teacher to 28 students and no teacher's aid. Middle school was and is now a worse dumpster fire than it has ever been. There was a teacher there who bullied all the boys, while the girls could do no wrong. It was bizarre to witness. She was there for years! I heard of other parents complaining, but nothing was ever done. (I complained as well) They go through "teachers" like tissue paper. There's a new teacher every other week. The bullying is never addressed or dealt with; especially when it's a kid who's parent works and goes to church there. Everything is just swept under the rug. High school is a joke! I heard of a kid who never even opened his books! If your kid gets bullied, just know that the teachers and principal will blame your kid and shame them in front of the class for being "too sensitive". Bullying is bullying when your kids are scared to go to school in the morning for fear of being touched inappropriately or whispered something so that other's won't hear that is so wildly inappropriate it makes you question whether you are in a christian school! There is also a competition that used to be voluntary as it involves paying money to participate as well as overnight for 3 days in another city. It's now required and you have to pay for each event, the hotel room, and food for your child. If your child chooses not to participate (for whatever reason), they will be punished by writing papers at school for those days of the competition. We thought our kids would be getting a good education at this school, but they really haven't learned anything useful for life. We regret sending them to a "Christian" School as the people there are nothing like Christians.

I went on their website and like what I read, and I was excited to take the tour of the facility. My tour was in the morning, once I got there I was extremely disappointed. I visited the toddler room and was shocked how poorly the room was kept. The first thing I noticed was the smell. The room smelled like toilet water mixed with a little bit of urine. The floors were not clean and there was yellow residue on the floor next to the toddlers tables. I understand toddlers can be messy but there's no excuse why a room should smell like a toilet and look like the floors haven't been cleaned in days.
