They spend more time disciplining these students to act like middle schooler than they do teach…read morethem. It's a flat out joke.. you can't bring them lunch unless it's in a special bag.. yet there are kids behind and I mean behind the secretaries desk saying mom!, mom eating McFlurrys from McDonald's so apparently they give special treatment if their parents work there. Half the staff is awesome other half extremely rude. If you can't handle it without being rude go find another job. So glad my daughter is out of there after this year.

My son is going into 11th grade and will be first graduating class they have done more for him then any other school in our area. He will be taking duel credit with Pamlico Community College and ACS high school. They go above and beyond for these children providing a small learning enviroment. They have many events and try to get community involment. The only down fall is the school doesn't offer many sports, however they are growing.

The best science teacher I ever had was Mrs. Anderson. She let us be scientists! I learned more from her than anyone! Dr. Barnes and Mrs. Buckner are a dynamic principal and assistant duo! I attended orientation on my own and left feeling genuinely hopeful about the school year. I loved…read morethe teacher and felt like she'd be a great fit for my daughter. One of my daughter's closest friends was also placed in the same class, and the two of them get along so well and just work together naturally. When I came home and told my daughter, she was over the moon. She started jumping up and down, so excited not just about her friend but also to meet her new teacher. Then today, I get a call from the principal saying she is being pulled from that class. The reason? They "accidentally" placed too many kids in the room. On top of that, they brought up a conflict from last year with another student and decided it was best to move my child, not the other one. Why is my daughter the one being punished here? Why not give both kids a fresh start? Isn't that what a new school year is supposed to be? Instead, I now have to sit her down and tell her that everything she was excited about is gone because the school made a mistake and chose to single her out. This is incredibly disappointing, and it shows a serious lack of consideration for how these decisions impact children emotionally. My daughter deserves better. All our kids do.
