Please read before enrolling your child…read more I attended this school in middle school for one semester, and it was one of the most disturbing and harmful environments I've ever been in. I've waited years to write this because I needed distance to truly understand how wrong it all was. But now, as an adult in college, I feel a responsibility to speak up -- for myself, and for any family considering this school. During my time there, I witnessed staff justifying slavery using religion (Mr. Arnold). I heard Black students referred to in dehumanizing, offensive ways (We were called blacks all of the time). These weren't slip-ups or ignorance -- they were intentional, repeated, and normalized by the culture of the school. I was a mixed-race student trying to survive in an environment where racism was brushed off and spiritual language was used to mask harm. Let me be clear: this didn't happen "nine years ago" like the school's Google response claimed. I transferred there six years ago, right after a family vacation, and I remember everything clearly. The school is lying to downplay the truth and discredit former students like me. That alone should raise concern. The physical environment was just as unsafe. The building had visible mold, and the facilities were unsanitary. It wasn't a place that felt safe, supported, or clean -- emotionally or physically. To the parents reading this: I know how hard it is to choose a school that feels right. But please don't let the word "Christian" blind you. What I experienced here was not Christ-like. It was damaging, dismissive, and deeply hypocritical. This school hurt me in ways I'm still unpacking. I would never send a child there. No one deserves to feel what I felt.

Heartbreaking how religion was used here…read more I attended this school briefly and I still think about how damaging it was. Not just because of what was said -- but because of the way it was said in the name of God. This school openly excluded and shamed people based on their beliefs. I specifically remember being told that "Catholics don't go to heaven." That moment stuck with me -- not just because it's wrong, but because it made me realize how twisted things were here. The leadership didn't just allow discrimination -- they taught it. Students of color were talked about in ways that were absolutely racist, and any concerns were dismissed. The environment didn't feel safe, spiritually or emotionally. It felt like control masked as Christianity. Even as a teenager, I knew something wasn't right. Years later, I still carry those memories, and I can't stay silent knowing other kids could be walking into the same experience. This school does not represent the love or compassion that faith is supposed to stand for. Parents, please look deeper. You deserve to know the truth.

The Summit is suffering from poor leadership. We attended a total of five years. This year was…read moreunbearable, leaving my 9 year old begging us not to go to school. Our experience took a child that loves school and made her dread it. She was met daily with threats to the class to pull activities/recess, the teacher yelling and demeaning the kids, picking favorites, and being compared to other students Recess was constantly skipped and they were repeatedly not given time to eat lunch. All attempts to communicate concerns were met with assurances that it was not happening or would be fixed. Inquiring where they are academically was shut down and obvious deficits occured this year. I watched some of it with my own eyes and was still lied to. My child was heavily reprimanded for "Threatening to shoot another student". It was later found that it was never said and she was given an apology by 2 of the teachers but the damage was already done. The Head of school shrugged her shoulders and said "It happens". This behavior continued throughout the entire year and was never addressed. Our 13 year old enjoyed most of her classes/teachers and is a straight A student but grades are often given a curve. The rules are so loose from administration that the Math course spent all year on 3/7 units and spent the last few weeks racing through the other units to "cover" the material as the teacher didn't realize she had to teach ALL of it. Students regularly disclosed that they were not understanding the information. In our meeting to find a solution we were told that as long as she could use her notes to look back on it was fine. My daughter asked how that works with the ACT and the teacher said "I'm not sure what to tell you you will need to prepare at home". She was met this year with teachers talking about how poor administration is as well as listening to derogatory remarks from staff about students to her and other students. Students act out/bully with zero intervention. In fact, members of administration participate in this behavior towards children. The HOS lacks the leadership needed to run the school. Her decisions were supplimented heavily by the input of particular members of the BOT. My time as a volunteer disclosed a world of chaos, incompetence, covering their actions and hateful behaviors. The Finance office ran an unnecessary credit check on myself and another member. Constant backtracking and disrespect of volunteers time and resources ultimately led to the resignation of the team . Administration caused the cancellation of a major event that had hundreds of volunteer hours by not securing insurance even though they sent confirmation to us that we had it. They then tried to make volunteers take the blame and refused to aknowledge any responsibility to the families. The Admissions officer yelled at volunteers in an emotional outburst during a meeting to discuss our resignation and ways to move forward stating that we owe her after all she has done for our kids. Both the board rep and HOS allowed it. Following up with the statement that "We had hurt their feelings". I was approached by staff and confirmed with another that my name had been added to a donation list to pad numbers to bring in more grant money. I went to The Head of School and was told that she "didn't want to be in the middle of it". I was later sent an email that my name was not on the list and any further questions would need to be asked in advance. I was also told in the meeting that we would be given contracts for admission next year. Four days later we recieved an email that my question "caught her off guard" and that contracts for this year and next year were in review, ultimately threatening us and using my kids as leverage. Attempts to set a meeting were blocked and the Head of School has refused to discuss the reasoning. Reaching out to the board yielded the same result. I was also told by board member that an inquiry into the schools accreditation would yield immediate termination. Find a different school. This one does not produce what they sell.
