In February, our world turned upside down with a text that our daycare was closing in three days…read more We had no plan, no back-ups, no hope, and I started frantically calling around for options that were reputable with immediate openings. Cris had shared with us her incredible experience at LSP with her daughters, and I crossed my fingers. LSP on Chestnut literally saved us from a terrible situation and had a spot for Evelyn starting in three days. But LSP was so much more than daycare. It was a place where Evelyn was loved and cared for by people who really loved her. In the six months she's been at LSP, she's thrived. She's grown her vocabulary, developed so many skills, became obsessed with babies and purses and uses sign language at home. Every scratch, reported. Every snack, documented. Every activity, photographed. The communication eases my anxiety every single day as a working mama. But she has received the best childcare experience at LSP. Ms. Julie, Ms. Anna, Ms. Ashley, Ms. Claudette, Ms. Stephanie, they've all be wonderful and cared so deeply about our daughter's health and happiness. I'm so thankful for LSP!

Understaffed. Hardly ever a consistent teacher. So much more they could be learning to prepare for…read moreschool. Seems like just babysitting. Teachers don't seem educated they hire people that just want a job. Food was horrible child would come home starving. Extremely disappointed in how they operate in such a nice facility. Would not recommend at all!

Any worries or concerns we had went away after the first few days of her being at Little Sunshine's. We loved that we could check in on her at any time using the live cameras, and the staff let me know that we were more than welcome to come by any time and check on her. We see how much she has grown and learned developmentally, and she absolutely loves going to school. My husband and I also look forward to getting our luvnote every day that has pictures of our daughter learning and playing, and information about what the curriculum is for the day. The staff at LSP has really become our daughter's second family, and we feel the love they have for her the second she walks through the doors. We wouldn't want her to be anywhere else during the day while we're at work! We trust all of the teachers and staff completely, as they always have our daughter's best interest at heart. Our kids have been attending LSP - Cardinal for three years. We have been in several classrooms and…read morewith several teachers. Across all classrooms the friendliness of the staff, and quality of the childcare has been consistent. The environment is safe (lots of precautions are in place) and transparent to parents. It is not the cheapest option around, but it is within the parameters of what I would consider reasonably priced, and I believe it's a good value for the services received. My kids have made many friendships there which is a huge parent bonus.

I have had nothing but problems with this daycare receiving my communication and expectations when…read moreit comes to my son. He has been sick numerous times since starting here back last October. After a complaint was filed with the health department due to not reporting illnesses as well as reporting illnesses to parents they are under investigation for telling parents a sliver of the truth from the health department or make up blatant lies because it's what Neena, the owner, would prefer. Not the actual guidelines. My son had been bitten five times in three months with nothing being done to fix this issue. Apparently it's been "five different children" but I was also told my child is not causing any issues at daycare. After talking with Neena and trying to find a solution another report was made to the state and an investigation was started. Once Neena found out that the report came from me she called me and disenrolled my son from daycare because her feelings were hurt she got caught not taking the proper protocols and procedures in order to protect the child she has at her daycare. She makes it painfully obvious her biggest concern is money, not the children. My son had gotten hand foot and mouth twice, pink eye, multiple GI issues, the flu, and other sickness like colds and such. I cannot stress enough how this daycare will not be respectful of your children or the cleanliness of their building considering how often children get sick and sent home.

Safe N Sound Playground - Follow the crayons to our school!

Safe N Sound has some really good attributes as well as some opportunities…read more Opportunities: They shuffle kids around from room to room to max out ratios, which leaves those kids with zero consistency. Our three-year-old has been going there for a couple of months, but she cries regularly because her teacher was mean to her. I walked in to bring extra clothes for my daughter for picture day. She was sitting by herself, visibly upset. I asked her what was wrong, and she said another child hit her. I walked her over to that child and told my daughter to tell her how that made her feel. There were three teachers in the room, one of whom was sitting RIGHT next to the little girl in question, reading a story. I said to my daughter, "tell her how her hitting you made you feel" but the little girl wasn't paying attention because she was listening to the story, and the teacher NEVER STOPPED READING! She never acknowledged my daughter, but instead just kept reading the story! I couldn't believe it! I have also heard her main teacher raise her voice, which only escalates situations with 2 and 3 year olds. They are also extremely rigid with their rules. If you try to drop your child off after 10am, they won't let you - even if you're 1 minute late! They have a sign they put on the computer at 10am, and I've seen the front desk person literally waiting by the computer for 10:01 to roll around. They're very inflexible and will charge you extra for every little thing. $2/minute if you're late or your child is there more than 10 hours; $5/day if you forget bedding or your child doesn't have a change of clothes. And they are EXTREMELY inflexible with these riles. The food is also not the best. One time, I dropped in at lunch time, and the food they were serving could only be described as slop. My daughter wouldn't touch it, and I can't say that I blame her! Positives: Their playground is THE best of all the daycares we've looked at, and I like that they have a bathroom outside if kids need to go while out there. They are really inexpensive for all that they provide, but if you're not careful, you can get hit hard with the extra fees for all the little things. Overall, this may be a good choice for some families, but it's not for ours.
