Gowell's chocolates are heavenly. The signature mixture gives you a taste of everything.

A friend of mine has gone on and on about Gowell's (he grew up nearby) for years, and I was finally able to try them for myself when I received a nice, giant box of assorted chocolates for my sugar-loving heart. My box is a mix of milk and dark chocolates, and has creamy centers, caramels, nuts and maybe some others I haven't tried yet. The chocolate is smooth, the smell is heavenly and the chocolate covered marshmallow was exceptional. As was the one with the strawberry center! He said the malted milk balls are great, hopefully that will be the next thing I get to try! read more

I found this little gem by accident, I'm new to the area and decided to take a walk. Small little shop very visible. Very affordable prices, quality chocolate! So happy to have found it. read more

Gowell's Home Made Candy - Milk chocolate malted balls and Swedish fish. - Candy Stores Near Me - Brockton, Massachusetts

Wow has customer service has gone downhill. Gowell's Candy in Brockton was a family tradition for my entire life and I think my family will make the transition to Hilliard's Candy. Jaqueline who worked the counter couldn't have been more rude and uninterested in helping my family with our Christmas order. She was rude and aggravated while answering questions and had no patience while we picked chocolates/candies out of the display. After paying for my purchase I opened my spice drops and ate one where I was then yelled at by Jaqueline for eating in the store. She yelled at me and said "excuse me, don't eat in here, you aren't allowed to eat here"! I told her that was weird because they always had a tray of free samples and candy at the front of each register my entire life and she yelled "rules change"! I was so embarrassed by the way she treated me. I've haven't come in contact with a more unpleasant person this holiday season and it was super disappointing while enjoying a holiday tradition with my sister and mother. The store was completely empty on the Sunday before Christmas and I'm starting to understand why with an attitude like that Never again. read more

I was introduced to Gowell's by my Aunt and it's my favorite place!!! I've never had such delicious chocolate anywhere else. I moved out of Massachusetts but when I visit I always try to stop in and i spend too much money I can't control myself lol. Sometimes I even order online because I'm craving Gowells!! read more

Best chocolates I've ever had! Coconut clusters are my favorite. Can't thank my friend enough for bring me there.

I love Gowells. Always make a point of getting some candy from here for special events (Christmas, Valentine's Day, Easter, etc) bear in mind they get VERY busy around some of these times (take a number) but the candy is great and they have a lot of choice available. Friendly staff caps it off! Oh, watch out for the door, it slams shut and is LOUD :) read more

This place is such a gem. Hilliard's doesn't hold a candle to Gowells. Only qualm, nothing is peanut free. Story of my life. Heartbroken 4 year old left empty handed. Even the gummy bears are tainted. Sigh. Honestly the best turtles and toffee ever. Parking sucks during the holidays since it gets packed and there is only a small lot behind the building. It's not in the nicest location but it's on a main road and I personally have never been mugged or shot here. read more

Gowell's has been a holiday staple in my family for as long as I can remember. Other candies just don't compare. The cashew turtles are my absolute favorite. read more

I'm a chocolate snob --- if it ain't Gowell's I won't eat it. (Okay, I'll have Hershey's in a pinch!) Gowell's is a Christmas & Easter tradition in the family for Chocolate Easter Bunnies and Santas. Soooo good! They have so many other good treats as well. The chocolate covered nuts are amazing. Pretty much everything they sell is amazing, so you can't go wrong. It's a small shop but they have a pretty wide variety. Overall the best in the area. read more

I love Gowells! I grew up right next to the store, which opened when i was 8. I now live 30 miles away and still go there for candy for family and friends for holidays. Always fill my grandchildren's Easter baskets and Christmas stockings with their candy ! It's the best!!! read more

The most unbelievable chocolate. Likely the only way you have heard of Gowell's if you grew up locally, know someone that did or receive their chocolate as a gift. Easily one of the best chocolates anywhere. read more

I stopped in to buy some candy here as gifts over the Holidays, I didnt have any left over to enjoy myself. Everyone I gave it to thanked me so much and raved about it so I had to go back and get some for myself. Both times it was very nice experience shopping there. The chocolates were much better than anything else I've had in the recent past. I have to go back here more often. read more

I am a new fan. I discovered Gowell's after buying a Groupon a few months back. Although it may be a bit off the beaten track, I thought I would give it a shot. Well, was I ever pleased! I have been a fan of this shop for a few years but recently I had a dilemma that they rescued me from! My company orders 3,000 chocolate santas every year for our customers and people start asking for them in October. Our normal distributor contacts us in early fall for our order but this year, he fell off the planet and I hadn't been able to reach him. Needing 3,000 Santas by December 1st put me in a panic but I thought of Gowells and called to see if they could help. Lori, the manager, was so accommodating! She was helpful, friendly, professional and was able to fill my order in less than a week! She and her husband were such warm people, I'm so glad they are close by! I could have gone to BJ's and gotten a bunch of commercial stuff but our customers would have hated it. Service and friendliness is why I always prefer to shop small businesses. Thank you Lori! And be sure to try the salted milk chocolate toffee, OMG, heaven!! read more
