Last night, 8-10-24, I went in and was told by the bartender Corina that I had to leave. One of the patrons there said that I was the black sponge bob and that's why I was asked to leave. That was in front of the bartender Corina.... It's on cell phone video. I asked what that meant and the patron there just said, "That's what we call you". I explained that I had been in there and never caused any problems so I don't understand. Corina told the patron to be quiet as I was ushered out. I returned about thirty minutes later and asked Corina to come outside and talk to me. I explained that I've never done anything wrong in the bar so why the rude and racist comments. She said, "So you really sensitive" and went inside. If you are a person of melanated color, I would suggest finding somewhere else to go

Tom Terrific here with another honest review…read more My friend and I came in for the 50 cent wings and the host who turned out to be our server seated us and gave us menus. The place was not packed but somewhat busy and we sat for 15 minutes without anyone coming to us. I noticed a threesome come in and they sat behind us. The server took their order before ours. We then ordered 30 wings with a beer for me and a sweet tea for my friend. You have to order a drink to qualify for the 50 cent wings. Another 20 minutes and they still didn't come. We were there for 40 minutes before our food came. The wings were not fresh out of the fryer though they were very warm. This created a situation where the wings lost their crispness and the skin was a bit rubbery. In addition, my Coors beer was a little flat with no foam top. What I witnessed was they had one server for the whole place for patrons who were at tables while the bartender (who was nice) took care of everyone at the bar. I feel they are limiting their overhead by having just one server so I fault the owner. I'm going to go back and I bet I have better service and a meal because I feel that this was simply an off day for them. Still, for that one visit I have to give 3 stars which is generous considering our experience.

Making reservations on open table as quick and efficient. When we arrived, our tables put together and ready for us and we were sat immediately. A decent menu with good variety and fair pricing. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food. My husband had the stacked turkey club sandwich and he thought it was delicious. I had the tuna poke nachos and the tuna was very good but the wonton nacho chips were stale tasting. I don't know if they were just left out for too long or if they were over fried, but that would be my only complaint. We chose to dine outside and watch the beautiful sunset with the cool breeze, brushing our faces while we sipped on our cocktails and enjoyed lively discussion. If we were in the area again, I would likely come here at sunset

Whiskey Joe's came highly recommended by several locals, so I was really excited to give it a try…read more The atmosphere is definitely the highlight--it's right on the water with beautiful views, a fun beachy vibe, and a great place to relax. Unfortunately, our dining experience didn't quite live up to the recommendations. We ordered appetizers and entrees at the same time, but our food took about 45 minutes to arrive, and our appetizers didn't come out until the exact same time as our entrees. Since we had ordered simple appetizers like chips and queso and ceviche, it was a little disappointing that they weren't served first. When I asked about it, I was told the kitchen was backed up. Our server was pleasant, but she wasn't very attentive throughout the meal. There were a few times we had to get up and find her just to get drink refills or an update on our food. I completely understand that restaurants can have off days, and even the people I was dining with--who visit often and usually rave about this place--mentioned that this experience was out of the ordinary. As for the food, the ceviche wasn't my favorite, and my shrimp tacos were a bit over-fried. Overall, I left feeling disappointed, especially considering how highly the restaurant had been recommended. That said, the location and atmosphere are absolutely beautiful, and based on how much the locals seem to love it, I'm hoping this was just an off day rather than the norm.
