Assisting staff is very evasive, and does not have answers, either. For the services I receive or lack there of, not worth the retainer fee. If you want representation who will be prepared for court, look elsewhere. If you want representation who bills clearly and monthly, look elsewhere. If you want representation that actually does the work they promise to do, look elsewhere. We had to find other representation because they just stopped answering questions. The opposing attorney told our NEW representation that the OBrien-Lawson just went "off the grid" for over 3 weeks--they also stopped responding to opposing attorney. I sent the office some emails proving their billing errors ( emails to me stating that they sent a specific letter to opposing counsel, which they didn't), they responded by saying that I emailed "dribble" to their office. In fact, it was not dribble, it was evidence that showed a letter that they charged me for was not even mailed. Divorce is very stressful. This firm will ADD stress to your case, and I strongly suggest looking elsewhere. We are now on our 3rd attorney, due to no fault of ours. (First one accepted a new position, then Lawson OBrien, and now we are with new representation). Our first and 3rd attorneys were/are fabulous, so good representation DOES exist in the Kankakee area, you just won't find it here.
