My sister brought me here when I came into WR to visit family. This place was so awesome! It's in a huge old bank and it's filled to the brim (2 stories) of books and other neat items. Seriously the coolest bookstore I've been to in awhile! (You can peruse books in the old bank vault!) I bought some thank you cards (religious, 8 for cheap!), a new book, and a used book. I thought the used book prices were a bit high but every single one I saw was in excellent, like-new condition so I guess that's reasonable. And the new book I bought was on sale so I felt like I was getting a good deal there as well. I think you can park in the front and the back of the store. There is a stair case and an elevator. This is a 2 story book store that's located in an old bank building. They have a large selection of books on both levels. They also have a few other things like games, toys and various gadgets. The prices seem reasonable and they had competitive prices to Amazon. The workers were very nice and attentive and answered all of my questions. It's pretty cool that you can trade in books for store credit. We traded in a bunch of books and received $100 credit. The use of the credits is a strange system. You can only use store credits on used books and then you can only use the credits for 50% of the price of the book. So for example if your book costs $10, you have to pay $5 out of pocket and you can use $5 in store credits. The books are very well organized but I didn't like that they mixed new and used books instead of having separate sections for each. Overall good experience. The best place to get books in Warner Robins!!! I could spend hours roaming the shelves and finding a new read. If you trade-in your books you get store credit, and if you return a book you purchased at Gottwall's (the yellow sticker MUST stay on) you get 50% back as store credit! The location has a lot of safety precautions for COVID-19. All the staff wears masks, masks are required to enter, and there is a divider between you and the cashier. There are signs all over the bookstore to not touch your face after touching merchandise just in case! This is my favorite place to relax and find new books; I will always come back to support this small business! read more

Gottwals has a great selection of books, and a friendly knowledgeable staff, and the place is always immaculate with reasonable prices and lots of parking. Until today they were a 5/5 for me. However, the interaction they had with another customer while I was checking out has given me a lot of pause on whether I'll come back. The customer asked if they had any copies of the Torah, and the clerk stated that Mr. Gottwals chooses not to stock non-Christian religious works because they don't align with his views. After a quick Google search when I got home, I found out they the owner is very vocally pro-life and anti-gay marriage and views Gottwals Books as a Christian bookstore in all but name only. This is well within his rights as a private business owner (and probably well-supported in this town to be honest), but I prefer to take my business somewhere that doesn't marginalize customers or discriminate on the basis of religion. read more

The staff here are wonderful! They always take the time to talk with you and help you find books that will interest you! They also did a tour of their warehouse for our homeschool group and taught our kids all about how to start a business! Great, caring business! read more

Gottwals Books is a family-owned business that has two locations in the Warner Robins area. I usually go to the Russell Parkway location. They specialize in used books, but there are some new ones mixed in. Prices are great--usually around 60-80% off MSRP, and the selection is quite large and varied. The thing that surprises me most about the place is how well-organized they keep it. Books are divided by genre, with fiction occupying about 2/3 of the store. Fiction titles are alphabetized, and there's very little of the yard-sale "dig and hope" shopping so common among secondhand book stores. If you're after something in particular, call and check to see if they have it. If you want something for cheap, check Gottwals before you order online and save yourself the cost of shipping. The (very helpful) staff will be able to tell you in five minutes or fewer. If you're in the mood to browse, skip the conglomerate book stores and support a local business. read more

I should have known better than to walk into a place like this. The book lover and his money were parted. It's a great used book store. It doesn't seem like a very big store, but I was impressed with the selection they had of my favorite authors, a better selection than most regular book stores. The lady behind the counter was very nice. Many of the paperbacks were $3-$4 and hardcovers around $7. read more

Very well run store. They have new and used books. They have a system that you can buy the book and when you are through with the book you bring it back and they buy it back from you (at a lower price). They put a price tag on the book that tells you what it will be worth if you sell it back. Gottwals has a lot of books and will special order books if you need one. The Gottwals bookstores are no frills and very cost effective stores to purchase books from. read more

Rebecca, I visit your store in Macon and am in a wheelchair. There is no ramp for access to the store, however there was put a portable/folding ramp to make it possible for me to come in from the parking lot to the store.
