We ordered from the east to see photo descriptions on the menu. We ordered the Spicy Udon Noodle Stir Fry with Chicken, and the Ramen with Pork/Chive Dumplings! Both were so delicious, hot, and fresh. The Udon came with rice balls rolled in sesame and nori, and the chicken was perfect and tasty. The Ramen was piping hot, perfectly spicy, and had egg in the broth. The dumplings were very delicious with great scallion flavor. Small fridge of beverages, L&P, sodas, water, and more fruit drinks! They also had made to order sushi for takeaway, and a nice little counter with stools if you prefer to eat in. Would eat here over and over! Go eat here. The owner also told us many great spots to check out in Auckland and marked them on our map for us. What a delight! Thanks so much. 5 Stars doesn't do it justice.

Given that, we ordered off the menu: Yellowtail - gorgeous and full bodied. Wasabi and ginger are annoying per packet. Toro - fatty tuna, and I mean really fatty. It's expensive so really gotta know if you like this (similar to Wagyu) sacrificing meat for fat flavor. Note that for twice the price you only get one fish piece. Shrimp nigiri - on the thin side. The place- spacious, mixture of two and four sweaters as well as some private rooms if you reserve early. Parking is a b*%#h in Parnell as you all know. The food- good quality traditional Japanese food. Most of the stuff on the menu is pretty traditional. None of those twists or flair as you sometimes get from places in the city. The flavor is well balanced. Seafoods are all fresh. Would definitely recommend the oyster and beef tataki if you are into raw meat. If you really want to go all out, order the wagyu beef. The service- no real complaints. Polite as it is in many Japanese restaurants. They do charge for tea, considering what you are paying for the entire meal, it's kinda annoying to have to pay for greentea. The price- I would definitely put it as $$$. Nothing really is under $20. Overall, it's a good restaurant, good quality traditional food.

They really need to up their service. The serving sizes are quite small so unless you are a very light eater, you will probably have to buy two $13ish meals. They also do not come with rice. Rice is an additional $2.50 for a small bowl. So you are looking at spending about $25-30 per person. I do like the seating arrangement though... we had a big table and even though we could see other tables the way it was layed out makes it feel private. My girlfriend and I stumbled upon this place on our way to inspect an apartment in CBD (I wouldn't recommend it) when we walked pass Nuri Maru and saw the $4 box deals. Whaaaat!? 4 bucks!?! We had about 10-minutes before inspection but I didn't want to miss out on that chicken karaage box or the spam masubi or the assorted salmon sushi. Soooo we detoured right inside. Pretty fun atmosphere you'd come to find at a typical Korean-style sushi restaurant - there was even a giant flat screen TV with K-Pop (Korean Pop) music videos on haha. We paid for our boxes and took a seat when a lovely lady from behind the counter asked if we wanted Miso Soup. I declined at first thinking she was trying to upsell me even after we had already paid. But then I noticed the beautiful sign that read "Free Miso for every $5 purchase" or something like that.. I saw "FREE" "Miso" and "$5" so I that's all I cared about. I quickly retracted my declination and said with conviction "YES!" She asked if we wanted two (one for my gf I guess haha).. Again, I said "YES!" as I nodded my head like an Asian school boy. The salmon roll was especially delicious - it had that milky, soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture.. mMMMmMmmM We're definitely coming back again.. maybe tomorrow since we have another inspection in the area hahah
