I'm assuming that you must maintain that amount to continue getting interest. I might be able to go along with that if their loans were 2 or 3 %. They were unable to provide documentation as to when this began. They suggested I open a CD, but then if I needed the money, I would have to break the CD and forfeit any interest I've earned.

TD Bank claims to be a "Convenient" bank. They are anything…read morebut. I attained a car loan from a local Honda Dealership. It was through TD bank. Being I was paying a higher interest rate ( Honda doesn't finance used cars) I wanted to up the payments to pay it off sooner. Every other bank I've done business with will apply any extra monies to the principal. Not TD. They take it off your next month's payment. I decided enough is enough and went to a local TD bank to pay it off. Much to my surprise this " CONVENIENT" bank couldn't tell me what the payoff was. I was told that she couldn't access the system as its a different branch. Never in my 59 years had I been told that by a bank. The clerk told me that it was the dealer that would handle that!! I informed the clerk that I would never EVER do business with TD bank again.
