Considering the stunning weather I was surprised to find easy parking and plenty of shady spots to spread out your rug or camp chairs. The big trees are beautiful. Being so close to homes and the general claustrophobic sense I get visiting Sydney, I wasn't expecting the park to be as large as it was. We all enjoyed a very relaxed afternoon and would happily meet here again.

Unless you get there earlier in the morning you will have to wait for a desk to become available. While the library isn't the biggest in terms of space and amount of books, it's still pretty decent for a local library. A major plus is the free wireless internet. I would often bring my laptop to Gordan library while studying for my university exams. There are computers available if you forgot your laptop or don't have a computer and are free of charge- you just need to sign in when you get there. Book drop points are located outside the library which are open when the remainder of the library is closed. There is plenty of parking at the back of Gordan shops, otherwise the train station is close by.

This is the nearest shopping centre to my work and I am pleased it is here. I have had the pleasure of having students work in one of the fast chain food outlets that he did very well at. All the buses go past from the Ryde area to the beaches. It is a clean and friendly place. It is busier during the morning and mid afternoon. Most shops close at 4.30pm so it doesn't stay open late.

My local friend suggested we head off to Chatswood where there would be many malls and that we should be able to locate something there, even on a Sunday when many smaller stores were closed. In the Westfield Chatswood mall, we located a Vodafone on Level 4 by the food court. There was a bonus deal going on, so we scored 25 gb for $25 AUD for 35 days, which was plenty for our (shorter) time in the country. Ironically, however, we later found another Vodafone at the Greenwich Plaza which was a short walk away from our hotel.

Sure, the ones in Melbourne are pretty big as well, but the Sydney ones can have you wandering around them for ages, as is the case here. Not surprisingly, this place has all of the bells and whistles that you would expect from a shopping centre this size.
