When I went to college in San Diego, the burrito became a whole separate block in my food pyramid. I first tried it with a friend of mine from San Diego who was visiting and she, too, concurred -- the burritos at Tacos Lopez are as good as many San Diego joints (where they freakin invented the "california burrito"). I haven't tried any of the other dishes there, only the burritos because why deviate from excellence. They're fast, cheap, and delicious. Only two things to suggest/critique: I wish they had free chips and salsa inside. And I wish they would call their "Colorado Burrito" a "California Burrito" because that is what it is known as everywhere else.

Another noteworthy item is their sope, which is always golden and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I always like to get the carnitas on my sope. It's topped with lettuce, tomato, cheese and sour cream. Their homemade salsas finish off every taco and sope perfectly! Lastly, the homemade horchata is a must try. It's so well done here with the perfect amount of vanilla flavor. The customer service is fantastic as well. I always appreciate feeling valued as a customer and served by a polite waitstaff.
