The Port Angeles store sends most good items that people would want to SEQUIM! More people in Sequim are wealthy than in PA, so they don't need to shop for used stuff as far more people in PA do. PA is also 3 times the size of Sequim. I've also seen staff walk stuff from what I just donated to their car parked at the curb. I've donated a lot here over years, many times. Not inclined to do so now. read more

I've been to this Goodwill a few times over the years, and it's just not my favorite. First off, it literally smells like cat pee inside. In fact, I couldn't even stay more than about 30 seconds in the women's clothing area before I had to hightail it to the other, "fresher" side of the store. The merch here is pretty ratty. My guess is, because of their far north location, they probably aren't in the PNW Goodwill pipeline, where donations get distributed across a broad area. It feels more like this is just local stuff being donated, and much of it is picked over, broken, or in other ways non-functional. One example is a board game which, upon opening the box contained not one piece from the original game it had once held - it was just a box of junk. I guess they don't screen their stuff very well. The parking lot is a bit shady, as well. And I don't mean with trees. Sadly, we had to step over used syringes on the way back to our car. read more

This was a shockingly nice goodwill! My mom likes thrifting and I wanted to go do a hike in Olympic national park that she couldn't tolerate, so I dropped her off here. I only came in briefly, but it was one of the most organized goodwills I've seen. I like to stop at thrift stores to see if I find something special. Found two silver candlesticks here. Score! Small store and a bit messy but helpful staff. A little confusing on the displays as they had a guitar and a lute my friend and I were interested in, only to be told they were for display only. Made a donation which was weird here because they had me sort it out. May be due to the pandemic for safety. read more

Popped into Goodwill after fighting my battle with Agoraphobia, Fear of places and situations that might cause panic, helplessness, or embarrassment. I also walk with a walker as I have poor muscle strength which is important to this review. As I was walking around, trying to decide what I wanted to get I went from the shoes to the dresses to the coats (found a coat and picked it up) but this pair of shoes I saw stayed in my mind so I went again back over to the shoes. These are the movements manager Dallas thought were suspicious enough to talk to another employee in the shoe section to "watch the walker sitting down" and then another employee who randomly came along. Apparently, I'm not a person just a walker. Suddenly it felt as if he had piled his whole team on me and talking about me and my walker so loud that I could hear. The only thing that was suspicious was me sitting down and my walker. I'm going to repeat that it was suspicious that I had a walker and I was sitting down. I left everything I was looking at in the shoe section and left in embarrassment, pain and rage. Because of this, it caused me to have a panic attack, and when calling and asking for the information to report him, he told me to just go to corporate. Dallas if you are reading this I will have your job and I hope you learn that just because somebody has a walker and sits down it does not mean they're stealing. You have poor judgment and discrimination caused me to physical pain and suffering since this episode has caused me to regress mentally and caused my chronic illness to flare and put me in bed. The prices on everything has become so outrageous that it's no longer fun to stop in and just browse, The kicker.....everything they get is donated to them for free. After they hike the prices on used items to over half of what it sold for new...when you do buy something they ask you to round up for charity....who is none other then the store itself. I get that things in goodwill stores are used but a lot of the things I saw here were used up! Many things were stained and or torn. I saw shoes with holes and the soles were extremely worn out. What are they doing? Looks like someone went slap-happy with a $4.99 sticker on things that make no sense from a glass jam jar to a piece of broken junk. Can pick up a plate or wine glass for .99 but some pieces of junk that will never sell is $4.99? Books.. you would think they would want to move.. lots of things would sell if they were priced right! I usually love most all of the Goodwills in Western Washington. However this one was a real let down. Yes the items are used, but these were just plain worn out. Dirty, and smelly clothes that should of not even made it onto the sales floor. The staff had zero customer service skills and seemed more interested in socializing with there friends. They close there fitting rooms an hour before closing and do not even give you a warning. Majority of the items were overpriced. Also the women's restroom was filthy! Sadly this is a Goodwill I do not recommend stopping at,even if its to kill time before the ferry. read more

This GoodWill is one of my favorites. The items are very carefully organized and it's easy to find what you're looking for. They have pretty good turnover and the prices are reasonable. Large selection of toys, books, and other media, and glassware. read more

We stopped here on our way to Western Washington to kill some time and found quite a few things we liked. Pros: This store had a huge selection of items. For example, I love playing games and found a huge selection of board games here. While some things were overpriced, quite a few things were great steals. I bought a women's leather jacket for $15, which was in excellent shape. I also bought a really cool version of Jenga and a set of 4 shot glasses for a total of $5. Finally, in terms of the staff, I found them reasonably helpful. Cons: I think I can see what others are saying in terms of prices. Some of the items did seem overpriced for a Goodwill. We bought some picture frames and a game that seemed a little expensive for a Goodwill (relative to what I'm used to). The place also wasn't the cleanest or most organized Goodwill I've ever been to, but it wasn't bad either. In sum, I thought the trip was worth it based on a few key items, but think the prices in general could come down just a little. I also think the place could be a tad bit more polished. read more

Nicely organized - not dirty and grubby like other Goodwills I've been to. Particularly during Christmastime and Halloween, there are some nice treasures to be found. It's always fun finding vintage Christmas tree ornaments. Great selection of books as well. read more

I've been going to these stores for years and have found many useful things, and apparently others do too as most people are usually hovering in the same aisles as me. everybody in our party found something at this Goodwill. after buying way too much wine and other junk, my aunts needed to find a way to get this shizz home - Goodwill is our savior. they each found suitcases to pack their goodies in (word up to checking two pieces of luggage), Mom L. found herself a vintage hat in excellent condition, and i picked up a copy of Horton Hears a Who for less than a buck!!!! they also had some nice looking jackets but lugging that bulky stuff home wasn't sounding too appealing so i had to pass. the staff was friendly, and professional - it was a thrift store yet they had better customer service than most Macy's! the store was well organized, and tidy. they were even selling fresh bunches of lavender. their book section is obviously cared for a loving employee - they separate books into genres and there was a substantial sci-fi bookcase which one of my aunts gravitated to. everybody's happy (for the moment) and we are re-using stuff instead of buying new - so very Jenn L approved. read more

This is a very big store with good lighting, clear aisles (rare in any thrift store), and a passably clean restroom. The staff we encounter were not rude or friendly, just rather indifferent. The prices here, however, seemed quite high even compared with Goodwill stores in much larger cities in OR and WA. The apparel prices were especially shocking for a thrift store -- $11.99 for a T-shirt, really? In my opinion, I should never have to choose more than one dollar sign for the price range of any thrift store and this one equals a solid $$. The books are a little spendy, too, but I did find a vintage record that was worth paying the tax in addition to the .99 item price. read more

One of the larger Goodwills on the area. They've got a nice selection, and it's well organized and clean. As with any thrift store some stuff is over-priced but they also have some great bargains. They get new stuff every day, and start stocking the shelves when they open in the morning. So it takes a bit for them to work the bins, so in order to get the best deals visit around 10-11 in the morning. Before then they haven't had enough time to get the new stuff out, and later in the afternoon most of the stuff is picked through. read more

I'm a Goodwill shopper from way back and have visited this store 3x in the past 10 days to see if maybe I just came on a "bad" day. Outrageous prices! Yesterday offered a 50% off red tag sale but hardly any of the clothing was marked with red tags - all the good stuff was priced about the same as buying it new at Walmart, esp the bed linens. read more

I would have given GW in PA a higher rating before the pricing schedule changed. I only shop on the weekend now. The prices have definitely increased and you have to know on which day certain things are 30% or 50% etc. I keep the calendar where I can see it. The color coding is done by time received, I believe. The same brand pants could cost more the first week it comes in. I don't get something every time I shop, but I often come up with something I really like. The new 99 cent racks are a treat! I have found great pants and tops and miscellaneous there. You have to be in the mood to peruse though. Compared to how junky Walmart has become, I still give Goodwill more stars than Walmart plus they are doing something good for people in the community. read more

Goodwill offers a weekly sale according to tag colors. This week yellow was $1.29 Sunday & Monday. Red was 50% off. This $1.29 draws many individuals and business owners to the store who would not ordinarily visit on a Monday... all yellow tags are $1.29 regardless of the original price! On July 9 several of us visited. We could find NO YELLOW TAGS in the men's sections, and also in other sections of the store. We mentioned it to a clerk, and she said "Oh, they started pulling yellow tag merchandise off the floor 2 days ago... it's already in the back room". WHAT ?!!!! We mentioned this to a number of other shoppers throughout the store... they were all quite angry to hear this and also asked a clerk. They received the same response as we had.... yellow tags were pulled early. There were a few sections they had not gotten to, but they were absent in the sheets/linens section-- children's clothing-- plus size clothing -- evening wear/long dresses - toys and quite a few of the other ladies clothing "sections". This is just WRONG !! Our group travelled for an hour to get to this sale. It is the same as a grocery store saying ice cream... $1.00... and then putting 10 out and leaving the rest in the back room! If they advertise this yellow tag sale -$1.29- to get people into their store... they SHOULD NOT PULL THE YELLOW TAGS until the store closes Monday evening. Or, they could pull the clothes and other items and put them on racks. At closing they could then just wheel the racks into the back. We did NOT misunderstand... too many shoppers were told the same thing by DIFFERENT clerks over a 2-hour period when we were there. So far, we have only noticed this deception at the Port Angeles Goodwill, but now I wonder if it is common practice for all their stores to do this ?? read more

Okay folks, This store for the most part sucks. Yes, I will admit that we shop there so that we can save a little money on our tight budget. This store has just about every policy ass-backwards. First; if you want to return something they will only accept it within a week after its purchase; and they will NOT give you your money back they only give you Goodwill store credit. Second, I many times have caught them over-charging at the register for books and kitchen items. It will be listed or priced one way on the signs in the book or kitchen section , but when you are at the register they charge more. I have not caught them over charging for clothing; but that normally has the tag on it so it would be difficult for them to claim a different price. Third they over-charge on many of their items especially in the clothes, blankets & linens, and furniture area. Why would I pay 12 - 14 dollars for a used blanket at the Goodwill when I could get a comparable new blanket at Walmart or Big lots. Goodwill gets ALL of their USED items as DONATIONS. They do NOT pay for the items yet they turn around and over price the USED items. Sometimes giving the item a price-tag that is as if it were NEW. They are really guilty of this in the linens section. AND In the furniture section a stinky sofa or chair will be incredibly over priced. I really wonder if the people pricing the items are so out of touch with reality or if they just don't care. I have found a few items that were priced right and in good condition. Otherwise... For the most part much of it is over-priced for what it is, and that if you considered they got the USED STUFF for FREE! What the heck are they thinking? Then consider this FACT... the corporation also gets further TAX DISCOUNTS from the US GOVERNMENT. Good will has quite a racket going. That is for sure.... One more thought. The Port Angeles Goodwill employees are not all that friendly. Just saying... They could be more professional and friendly. read more
