Many of the employees have become like friends to us there, but a policy has come to our attention which is pretty jacked up. Rounding up, we started doing it as we thought that it benefited the cashier and we found it does, but only with a pat on the back from management and that if they do not get at least 30% of their customers to round up they are reprimanded and could loose their job. Considering donations to this company are free to them we find this to be a really greedy policy and very questionable. read more

Perhaps it's new management, but this store has improved quite a bit. It's better organized, is cleaner, and its merchandise seems to no longer be substandard. The Goodwill on liberty street in Bloomington Indiana is not only clean and super nice inside but the real stars are in the back! I had to load a giant wooden kitchen in the back of my van and had car seats and not only did Mike and Jay the stars of the story patiently wait but they offered to help so many times and they stayed with me until it was loaded. It was literally as they were closing and they didn't rush me once and were beyond nice it was actually really refreshing. if you don't go for the store alone go for those two because they deserve major recognition for how amazingly kind and helpful they were! read more

I went into Goodwill today for the first time in quite a while. I won't donate there, and even when I'm shopping for used items they are a last resort. The good news is some of the areas that were absolutely overflowing with crap and junk and whatever else they could shove on seem to be ... oh.... more sparsely populated. The bad news is that you had better check anything you buy VERY closely. In electronics was a clock with a badly corroded battery inside, and in the furniture area was a small dresser that was dirty inside and even had some bug crawling around the bottom drawer. Another fixture must have been used as a pantry, and they couldn't be bothered to clean it - AT ALL. If their goal is job training, they're not doing a great job of that, at least on the intake end where donated items should be checked and at least wiped down. Yuck. read more

Ok--id be happy to give a charity 5 stars. But this is goodwill. America's answer to the evil non-profit. They charge more than normal store prices on some items, no joke. I do live that it encourage reuse over recycle. The store is also just awful location, awful decor, and horrible selection. I'm really not a fan. I shop at Goodwill with some regularity and for the most part it is good. I buy a lot of books and clothes there and am satisfied that they were a good buy. Have heard things from disgruntled employees about other employees but have been treated well when in the store. Read one view of the store and about one employee in particular and must say you should not judge people based on hear say not knowing the facts yourself. Thinking must have been written by someone who was either fired or quit the particular store mentioned. No one has seemed to be interested in kids there that I have noticed either exception of those kids that ransack the store and cause issues with other shoppers, many that are elderly. Generally speaking, depending what you are looking for, it is a good place to shop. read more

Where do I start... I have been here 3 or 4 times, and every time we have gotten the worst service. Everyone here is totally rude. That is me being kind. Each time we have gone to check out, there is no one at the cash register, and we are forced to stand awkwardly for about 5 minutes. Last night, there were not one, but TWO workers at one register gossiping about god-knows-what. The lady tells us ¨Öh sorry, this register is closed and has to call someone up front.¨ At that point we about put our stuff down and left. And of course we got the rudest person they had. The lady was as apathetic as they come. She mumbled the whole time, acted like she could care less, and gave me several rude looks. We specifically asked for a larger bag because we had two large stuffed animals for our dog. She rolled her eyes and gave us two small bags instead. REALLY LADY? Oh if only I had gotten her name.. As I have said before...this has been every single time. I can understand if the location just has a bad day, but seriously?? This location has the absolute worst management and the worse employees. Every one treats you rudely here, and basically give off the vibe that they wish you would just leave. Anyways, I really hope the manager of this location is going to see this.. If you do, please take this review seriously. My boyfriend and I frequent Goodwill for refurbishing projects, and also for stuffed animals for dog. At most Goodwills we are treated very well, and every one is so kind and helpful..except this one. That is a shame considering this is supposed to be a charitable organization. This goodwill is absolutely the very worst of the worse as far as prices go! They actually charge higher prices then Wal-Mart.. I am disabled so when I need something that I can only afford second hand I want to give them another chance and it is literally higher prices then the last time I was there!! It is sad...they are supposed to help the needy not cheat them out of money! read more

They don't even deserve a star. The manager was very rude and argued w me. The cashier told me one price and then the manager told me she was wrong and started to argue with me. I will not be back and I will be sure to tell people about my hateful experience there. read more

I drove over 100 miles to visit this store. I found great vintage items and filled up 2 carts. I ask the cashier if I could park the carts by the front register, so I could fill up another. She told me that she couldn't watch the carts. I put my coat over them and told her that I was going to keep shopping, and would take my chances. When her Lead Manager came in, he told her to PUT IT ALL AWAY, that we do not hold item for paying customers. When I filled up 2 more carts,and went to front area to pay. All of my items were gone. The cashier that I had spoke to was putting it all away with my coat still in the cart. I was never paged, or called to the front before they decided to put it all away. The store is not that big I'm sure they could see me still shopping. I felt like they didn't want to take the time to ring out an pack up a large sale. I called Corporate and they will not even return several phone message that I have left. The Management and employees need some serious training in CUSTOMER SERVICES. I own a retail antique store in Cincinnati. We thrive on great customer service. Shame on you for not doing the same. read more

this store is ok...but I have a few issues with it. #1 they fill the racks so full that you can't see anything. #2 their employees just stand in the isles and if you say excuse me they act like it's an inconvenience to get out of the way. That happens with all of their employees not just a few of them. #3 I HATE the way they put the barb tags on. PUT IT ON THE TAG OF THE CLOTHING. They always put it on the actual seam in the clothing and no matter how gently you try to take it off, it still leaves a small hole. I hate it. #4 they NEVER have enough cashiers.
