Goodwill Outlet

Kind of freaked me out the first time my friend and I went there. Shoppers were like vultures when…read morethe big bins rolled out. They have rules about when you can start going through the bins (eg no one can cross the line and start rummaging through until all three giant bin tables are locked in place) but once they are, LOOK OUT!! The shoppers are insane! They dig and toss things like a bunch of savages and God forbid someone pick up something they wanted. YI !! Goodwill needs to enforce respectful shopping. If a shopper is going to toss, break, tear open and disassembled products so that no one else can use/buy them, rendering the product garbage, that shopper should be told to leave. The good things are, staff have always been very pleasant and helpful. Product is priced as per weight, so yes you can get a lot of stuff extremely cheap! Books and videos that I can share with children and others are among my favourite to seek out. Sadly these are some of the things most damaged by disrespectful shoppers. They grab and toss and DVDs go flying out of the cases, books get torn, glass items get broken. It would be a far better shopping experience and more people would come if Goodwill would remove ignorant, destructive shoppers. They have rules for everything else, why not that? Great thrift store to shop at though! ....if you can duck. Wear gloves!!

London is lucky to have a goodwill outlet store. If you check frugal sites, people go crazy over…read morethem. Here products are sold by weight making them very cheap. You have to dig around in large bins though. They bring out new bins full of stuff at certain intervals. The bins are sort of sorted in that they only carry one type of product. One bin will only have piles of books, another boxes of plates, another only clothes. It's not as easy/ well sorted as shopping in a regular thrift store. They have large shopping carts in the back but you aren't allowed to move them until you check out. How shopping here works is that you take one of the rolling shopping baskets, fill it up, and if you have too much to fit that little basket, dump it in the larger cart at the back. Rinse and repeat. When you are finished, then you can move the larger cart to the checkout. The parking lot is always nearly full every time I go and you do need to drive here. The nearest bus stop is a 15-20 walk away and with the stuff you'll end up buying, you really don't wanna lug it on the bus. Parking lot is small though and awkward to get in and out sometimes. Usually I get great service from the people here, but today the people on staff were kinda grouchy. One lady wouldn't let me take a picture of the bins thinking I was talking pictures of people and the other cashier guy (who looks older than my dad) talks loudly how he doesn't like school because he doesn't want to listen to people or have anyone telling him what to do. A bit weird if you ask me because he's working under goodwill. I come here because books are cheap ( I give away books in our neighbourhood to encourage reading and literacy) so because of dirt cheap price, I'll be coming back but they really gotta do something about the parking lot. It's too bad they are not in a better location because people who could benefit the most from the pricing can't make it here. Most of the people look like they are looking for great finds to resell.
