I think it can be so difficult to rate a thrift store. This is not the place to go shopping for unique clothes. Let me tell you the reasons I think this thrift store rates five stars for me personally. One. The incredible amount of product turnover. Things (usually furniture) are coming in the back door all the time throughout the day. I've seen people literally sit by the door in chairs and watch things come in so they can pounce on them. Don't these people have jobs? The second reason is the prices. So many thrift stores are overpriced and not much below new retail. This thrift store has lots of product and has to move it so they keep their prices low. Nothing is priced so you ask the front desk for costs. This is a super fast and easy process. If you get a large item like filing cabinets, couches etc. they can deliver it to you for a small fee depending on where you live. And lastly the friendliness of staff here is the best I've seen around. Every employee that I've passed either say good morning smile or ask if you need help. I really enjoy this store. Tip the more things in your basket the more of a discount try not to buy just one thing if possible.

918 BARGAIN OUTLET -- PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE…read moreI want to set the record straight because tonight was incredibly frustrating. I spend approximately $800-$1,000 a month at 918 Bargain Outlet, and a large portion of what I purchase is clothing that I donate to people in need. I have been a loyal, regular customer and have spent a significant amount of money supporting this business. Unfortunately, I have repeatedly had negative experiences with an employee named Stephanie. This isn't based on one bad night. My very first encounter with her, about a year ago, left me feeling as though she was insinuating that I was trying to steal something. I found that extremely offensive, and ever since then, I have consistently felt that she is rude, unfriendly, and gives me dirty looks when I come into the store. Tonight I spent nearly two hours picking out merchandise and stayed until closing. I realized I did not have my debit card with me and asked if my items could be held. I understand that store policy may prohibit holding merchandise, and I am not blaming Stephanie for following a policy. What I am upset about is the way customers are treated. Customer service matters. You can enforce every policy a business has while still treating someone with courtesy, dignity, and respect. Someone representing a business--especially in any kind of leadership or management position--should have the people skills necessary to communicate professionally with customers. After spending thousands of dollars with this business over time, I shouldn't repeatedly walk into the store and feel unwelcome, judged, or disrespected by an employee. 918 Bargain Outlet, please address this situation. I enjoy shopping there, I support the business regularly, and I use many of my purchases to help other people. I don't expect special treatment because of how much money I spend. I simply expect the same thing every customer deserves: basic courtesy and respect. Stephanie's treatment of me has been an ongoing issue for far too long, and tonight was the final straw. Management needs to take customer service concerns seriously because eventually, even your most loyal customers will decide they've had enough

After spending a rainy afternoon perusing the shop, being inquisitive about the items there and getting to know the people who are making this shop happen, I somehow felt connected to the the owners. I don't know the owners in any other capacity beyond being a patron of their business. However, I am looking forward to my next visit to make a donation to their shop. So no, they are definitely not giving me any freebies. Lol The couple who run the store bring a good vibe to the space and everyone who entered while I was there contributed to it. I sensed a space of community. I am more inclined to support businesses where everyone working or shopping there seems content to be there. The selection is reasonably priced. The items are in good condition. I appreciate the range of variety and the quantities in each category. They have a little of everything. Not too much, and not too little. Of what they do have, it's of utility. The exterior is decorated with creations the resourceful shopkeepers put together by repurposing items that were not sellable nor usable for their intended purposes. I didn't ask if those works of art or items of new utility were for sale. If you happen to find yourself roaming along hwy 97/alt hwy 75 I recommend stopping by the former bread store next to the funeral home.
