Went to the Goodwill in Silverdale and Port Orchard. They were so overpriced that I walked out with nothing. The Silverdale store was actually asked $50 for a very used pair of boots. We visited this location to find coats for a wedding. We are not fancy people and didn't want to spend a lot of money on something we'd probably only use once. We scored! Found two wool coats, one for $5 and the other for $7. These are the prices I expect to pay for USED items that the store receives for free. Went to buy a bike for my son. Found a great one...it didn't have a tag. The supervisor came up and told us to put it back on the floor. She couldn't sell it and didn't have time to price it, it would be at least a week. It was annoying, but the way she carried herself with us and everyone else was really disappointing. She's either really good at her job of driving people away or really bad at getting return customers. I guess it's a Goodwill not Target, so they don't have to care. read more

I found two little boxes that had a price tag on it from Kmart that said it cost 58 cents, thinking that since this is Goodwill it would be about the same price or cheaper... Nope, after checking out I looked at the receipt and they charged me $1.49. With only one cashier open and about 7 people in line I talked to another employee that I had seen standing around pretending to work. According to her all the other cashiers were out sick and helping me would of been to hard as she was busy standing around rolling her eyes. I then waited in line for about 10 minutes for the cashier to be rude to me and give me a gift card instead of the cash I had just given her. I will never go back to ANY of your stores as this is just the last of many bad experiences. read more

Expensive. Probably because most of the stuff seems to be new. The problem is that you can find a lot of it priced better elsewhere. They do have a lot of clothes and many are decent quality. The young guy with hair that needs to be combed and his pants half way down his legs is soo unprofessional. (goodwill drop off in the back, not the store) He slammed a bunch of stuff on top of lamp shades that the previous lady dropped off. i stopped him and asked why he smashed the lamp shades and he said exact words "f**k the lamp shades, no use with no lamp". i will not being coming back. so unprofessional and why don't you go buy a $0.99 belt inside. read more

Very large and well organized Goodwill location. It's basically the best used bookstore in town! They have an impressive library section. Prices on housewares can be erratic - ranging from bargain to some things inexplicably priced at even more than retail. But they have lots of sale days and inventory turnover so there is always plenty of deals to be found. I regularly donate and then pop in to pick up some books and kids dvds. Very unorganized!!! Messy!!! The front and back of the building is full litter. The staff isn't very friendly and the prices are ridiculous. I think they may have forgotten the items they resale are donations!!! The Goodwill is only interested in lining the pockets of their CEO. read more

Love the store choices but hate that if item not priced they cant sell it for a week, the Port Orchard store just took it in the back and slapped a price on it, you want to sell it or you dont, very frustrating as we live 30 minutes away and cant keep driving to see if the item was ever priced. read more

Last time I go to the Gig Harbor Goodwill. Today as I'm trying to donate my things, the attendant was busy so I was waiting in my car like you're supposed to and all of a sudden he started yelling and waving his hands out of anger so I got out and when I was handing him the things I was trying to donate he was yanking them out of my hands and then he said " I was yelling at you, what were you doing, sleeping?!" And I was like no... I don't know why you were yelling at me, sorry. And then I left. Now I'm wishing that I said more but I don't treat people like that, it was very rude. I was DONATING. read more

Gave this location 2 stars because the employees were so friendly and helpful. Bathroom lighting isn't great. Some interesting items but definitely overpriced in most categories. Some items were discounted only a couple of dollars off of the brand new price and the items showed a good amount of wear. If that's the case may as well buy brand new. Did wait quite a while for someone to unlock the dressing room even though the button was pressed for the attendant multiple times. Hopefully management will reassess their pricing. read more

I will keep this review in line with what I usually base my reviews on at good will and nothing more. Selection and customer service. The selection is not as broad in the clothing department as many other Puget Sound locations. I found a pair of White Claiborne pants that I found very well priced on a pink tag sale day. They offer a good amount of accessories like electronics and linens that I haven't seen at other locations. A very solid plethora of random gizmos and gadgets that are worth a look through if you like to tinker. The main gripe about this location is that they don't have many upscale pieces in the mix. Very basic t-shirts and dress shirts for men. Womens selection is huge and varies by whether you want flash or pizzazz. Changing room attendants were excellent and not in the least out of reach at any given moment. Cheers to this location for offering a clean and easy sweep but if they could improve one thing it would be their check out policies. As my mother and I approached the register after a friendly conversation with the the customer in front of us, the attendant very loudly called to a peer for a break before helping us. Maybe timing isn't the strong point here or maybe it was an indication that they were all out of conversation that didn't have to do with rounding our purchase up for donations. It's a hit or miss. Some items are very overpriced mostly clothing items and home decor. But I scored and got a sectional couch for an amazing price here. Its an OK goodwill if you are in town but I wouldnt travel far just to go here. read more

This review pertains to the drop-off personnel and process, not the store. We have donated a significant number of items to Goodwill in this state as well as Arizona utilizing a variety of stores. Gig Harbor's is the most arrogant and difficult facility we have encountered. Just today we attempted to drop off a Crate and Barrel desk in very good condition yet because it was a little damp due to morning moisture dripping on it from the truck during transportation, the personnel wouldn't accept it. I offered to dry it off, but the answer was the same. After speaking with a very nice manager who reversed the decision and loved the desk, we decided we would donate elsewhere from now on. read more

This location is terrible about accepting furniture donations. We have had nice furniture to donate and have been turned away because they are full. Today I actually called to see if they are accepting donations of furniture and the person on the phone had no clue that sometimes they turn away furniture donations. He then asked someone who said they were accepting furniture today. Then my husband took the recliner to the gig harbor location and was told that they are full and are not accepting furniture donations! I called the manager to discuss with her the need to educate her staff so they can give proper information over the phone and not waste people's time. She did not seem to care much. We will be donating our items elsewhere! read more

Very disappointed with the customer service here. I had a wardrobe malfunction on the way home from Tacoma to Bremerton where I live and knew it closed at 9 pm. It was 8:35 when I entered the store and was very pleased with the selection. Too bad at 8:55 my boyfriend who was waiting for me to finish up with my selection was rudely told to get out because they were closed! The final closing announcement wasn't even made yet and I planned on spending money there that could have went to Walmart or some other establishments! The tall man from the back was rude and unprofessional! The cashier has been very rude to me in the past but I took her age in consideration and ignored it out of respect. I put my items down and I will never return again. This is the only Goodwill I have ever felt unwelcome in and that is very unfortunate because I'm an avid goodwill shopper for my line of employment. They have a wonderful selection of items, but the worst management, operations team and no one has any idea of what to do when something is not priced at all, an example is I tried to buy a puzzle that was not priced and the sign said that all puzzles were not priced were ,99¢ But the cashier said that the signs did not apply to Melissa and Doug items. It drives me nuts to shop at this Store. Talking to the management is useless they don't want to help their customers they just want to get you out of the building. They operationally are broken if a sign in any part of the store states how much unmarked items are we should sell it to the consumer at the price listed on the sign unless it was otherwise Marked. I have worked retail management at one of the largest retail stores in the world for many years and if we treated our customers like that that we probably wouldn't be around anymore. So for wrap up the store needs to retrain the manager staff, it's associate staff, and it needs to fix how it operates. People at the store need to smile when talking to customers, and honor whatever pricing they put out for items. read more
