My daughter and I perused this store for about 45 minutes. I have a gift card from Christmas to use up. I found a bag of kitchen utensils and got in line. You can't use a gift card at self serve, so waited. There was only one cashier and the person checking out was short on funds. This person left to go check their car while we all waited in line. Eventually someone from the line told the cashier to "call someone." He announced overhead that he needed a manager for an employee purchase. The manager opens up a new register, but instead of helping all of us in line, he rings up the employee. I walked out. What a waste of time. read more

This location is pretty decent. There is A LOT of clothes and books. When you first walk in there is a women's "upscale" quality section of jackets, blouses, and bags. Then on the far right you go down a few steps to the whole clothing area. I didn't look too much through those clothes as I came mostly for kitchenware and potentially furniture. Lots of unused or new cookware in original packaging, a modest electrochromic section, some home decor, and a few pieces of furniture still in original boxes so it was difficult to see what type of furniture it was. Although our visit was fruitless and we didn't purchase anything, I'd go back and check this location out every so often. That's the beauty of thrifting; maybe better luck next time. read more

This used to be a great location. They had furniture and lots of treasures. You used to be able to try on the clothes you wanted to buy. Now, there is no furniture (not even allowed to donate furniture at this location) and I was told there were no more dressing rooms. How am I suppose to buy jeans if I can't try them on? And you can't return anything for a refund. Malarkey. This store has gone down hill. Super disappointing. read more

The boutique area they have created in the front of the store is very nice. Clothing area down below is very crowded but the staff seem to be doing an excellent job of trying to keep everything organized. The area up above with all of the kitchen items, decorative items, books that was a little too overcrowded for me. Overall the Aisles are too small and narrow. You can't pass anyone going the opposite direction. This makes it really hard to actually look at anything. read more

I drove up to the Waze address and found that they accept donations at the back, like most Goodwill donation sites. I drove around the right side only to be faced with a wrong way sign. If they wanted me to turn left across the entire store front and enter the back around the left side of the building, there should be signage, as I have experienced at other Goodwill donation centers. In the back there was another vehicle dropping off their donations, I start to walk to the array of blue carts when I was rudely accosted that I may not cross the line marked with traffic cones, my many experiences before have been that I was encouraged to off load my merchandise. Again there was no signage indicating to wait, only one car can be offloaded at any time. Since I was intending to donate valuable merchandise, I drove on through and am now setting up my eBay store to sell camping equipment, coffee makers, brief cases, clothes that have barely any wear as I now have a health disorder and cannot stop gaining weight. It's a wonder that anyone donates here with rude, disrespectful attitudes (yes, tudes dude). read more

We hit up Goodwill on all our adventures, we love seeing the different locations and store setup. This has to be one of the nicest we've been in.very organized, clean, feels more like a retailer selling new goods instead of old. Staff are super friendly, helpful and plentiful. Very little actual goodwill at the Goodwill garbage store. I walked several miles through snow to do a little shopping while the streets were iced over. I brought a backpack with me to carry groceries home. Almost immediately upon entering the store I got the homeless treatment. Even after setting my bag down as ordered, they rudely stared at me the entire time. When I asked to use the bathroom, they said, "Well, we would normally let you, but our janitor went home early so the bathroom is closed for the night." "Closed for the night?" Like their bathroom gets so much use, it needs to rest. How nice to be treated like they thought I was going to immediately take a dump on their floor. Honestly, I'd have had more respect for them if they had the courage to simply voice their honest concerns instead of treating me like a walking toxic superfund site. Which is ironic, because the place is a dump, it's disgusting, filthy, moldy, filled with used junk and trash that hasn't even been cleaned, and re-sold at ridiculous prices. Just because Goodwill is technically a non-profit doesn't mean it's not profiting. Given the way they operate and how I was treated, it's a bit difficult to believe in their pretensions to helping the world and uplifting downtrodden people. "Liberal Privilege" by Donald Trump Jr. was proudly displayed in its own special bookcase in the store. What more do you need to know? It's frustrating to get loaded up with stuff for goodwill, only to find that they are not accepting donations at a particular time.

If I could give this zero stars I would, not only is this place like a dumpster, so unorganized crammed full of crap piled all in heaps on and off the shelves, they don't let customers try on clothes and they have a restroom that they will not let anyone use even my three-year-old who's still potty training. One employee told us to wait while she went to go get the key and then came back only to tell us that we couldn't use the bathroom because it wasn't to public restroom. Had already been waiting five minutes. I even went up to the front to speak to the manager and they would not let my baby use the bathroom. This price gouging is absolutely ridiculous, they get all this stuff by donation for free yet charge way too much for everything sometimes even more or the same price as the original manufacturer tag that's on the item. I will NEVER return to this good will. If you want a drastically better experience go to the goodwill in port orchard. read more

Have to say I love thrifting and know most of the stores in the Kitsap peninsula. The Good Will in Gig Harbor is my least favorite. It is so messy and the shelves are very disorganized. Items are healed on top of each other. Hard to see what is what. The pricing is inflated. I have given this store a couple of tries but each time I have left without buying anything - makes me annoyed when I take the time to go there. read more

The prices at Goodwill are ridiculous. These items have been donated and they are priced too high. Even dollar tree items are marked up. I saw items from the dollar tree that were marked $1.99 Also lots of other items that you might as well buy new for a couple of dollars more at another store! We've been to this Goodwill store several times and like to visit when we're passing through Gig Harbor. There aren't a ton of thrift stores in Gig Harbor, and this one is pretty decent. The store looks bigger than it is because it's on two levels (there is a ramp between levels). The main floor near the entrance has housewares, decor and books, while the lower level has men's and women's clothing and shoes. I don't know what this store was previously -- maybe two stores combined into one? -- but the layout is unique. The store is older and a bit run-down, but they keep it well maintained and organized. They seem to have a larger amount of new goods (with the all-yellow tags) compared to other Goodwill stores. They also get a lot of Target clearance inventory, but the prices seem higher than clearanced Target stuff at Seattle's Goodwills. They have a good selection of books, but as of our last visit, the books don't have colored tags, so the weekly discounts don't apply. This is the only Goodwill I've seen with that policy! Overall, a fairly good store and worth visiting if you're in Gig Harbor. read more

VERY UNHAPPY & EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED in how I was treated at this location today. I was shopping at this location today with a dear friend of mine. We both found cute items that we were excited for. My bladder started to act up and I immediately needed to use the restroom. I waited my turn outside the restroom. An employee came out of the restroom and informed me that the restrooms were not for public use. I told her that I'M PREGNANT and that I urgently needed to use the restroom. All she said was "sorry," so my friend and I left our items there and left immediately. This goes against Ally's Law, which WA state does uphold. I am very disappointed and I will go out of my way to not go back to this location again. read more

My family has been a long-time supporter of helping our community by not only shopping at Goodwill stores, but we have also donated over the last forty years. My sister recently made a donation at the Gig Harbor goodwill, but the experience was not the "usual". Not only did she have to unload a truck load of boxes and bags, but she was then made to separate each box or box into bins where other donators had placed their donations. The corona virus has the ability of lingering on these items. By asking your supporters to do the sorting for your employees is not only disheartening but possibly contagious. Whatever happened to Goodwill's impeccable service? Why bother to hire donation attendants if your clients are expected to do the work? I'm going to share this experience via local social media to warn others of this experience. We will find other places to donate our goods (or we will repurpose). We will also find other places to shop. Good-bye, Goodwill. Not very good will towards long-time supporters. read more

I didn't even know there was a Goodwill in Gig Harbor. I think it's relatively new. I was surprised when I walked in that there are two levels to this Goodwill. The clothing and apparel is mainly in the lower level which literally is just like three or four stairs down so it's not like you have to take an escalator or anything. The upper level is everything else (housewares, books, movies, toys, electronics, etc). The Goodwill does have a ramp to get to the lower level for those that have wheelchairs or any sort of handicap. I did notice that they didn't have any televisions in the electronics department so if you're coming for that, you might want to look elsewhere. Each department seemed really condensed and small with not a lot of overall items. There was variety, just not a lot of quantity. I also found the prices to be a bit higher than most thrift stores. I found in this store, like many of the thrift stores are starting to do, that they mark up the items they classify as "designer". Really though, some of the designers they think are designer brands are not really that great at all. I also didn't like that they have the t-shirts up high, so it may be difficult for someone who is height challenged to pull the shirt down from the rack without breaking the hanger or pulling several other shirts down in succession. At least it was clean and well organized and not too picked over. You don't have to get special access to get into the fitting room with notifying the cashier and there is ample parking. Sadly, I didn't find much in this Goodwill that I wanted to buy, but this review is subject to change since thrift stores rotation their stock on a regular basis, so maybe I'll score big on another day. read more

It's a bigger Goodwill! If you're looking for treasures it's nice to go. Not sure what others expect from a thrift store. As for the previous comment about two older men being in the store. Not everyone that is poor, homeless or down on their luck goes to thrift stores. I go for the thrill and to find vintage clothing. If it was the other way around and it was a high end boutique and someone was dressed as if they were less privileged it would a problem. I have shopped in this store a number of times over the past 4 years or so and found it a great resource for my budget. But after they reopened (post lockdown) things are very different. The restrooms are permanently closed to customers, there are no dressing rooms now & no mirrors. The sections for clothing (women's at least) are not well organized & sizes are not marked on tags. Finding your size is just a frustrating search. There also seem to be only two primary price tags, $4.99 & $5.99. Many items are simply overpriced. It does not help to raise funds for an organization to raise prices to a level that borders on absurd. It's just a poor business plan. Part of the purpose of Goodwill industries is to make needed items available to lower income families at a budget friendly cost, but when they start pricing a damaged t-shirt at $7.99 or a torn dress at $14.99 (both were items I found on the rack today) then they defeat their purpose. An old, stained blouse with a designer label is still just an old, stained blouse. A fancy label does not make it more wearable, or valuable. It's very disappointing to see Goodwill going in this direction. read more

You can find brand new, better prices by searching the clearance racks at Kohl's, across the street. If you like to shop charity shops, the best are the small, independent shops... They only take gently used items, and they sell that at a fraction of Goodwill prices... There are several in Gig Harbor. read more

I have tried to donate clothing, house-hold goods, multiple times but their hours never seem to stay the same. When they are open the "worker" will not help people unloading their donations. I waited 20 minutes for an older lady to unload her car - she had to take each item out of her bags and put them in the correct bins. She could not walk well, nor carry much weight - the "worker" was doing absolutely nothing. So I said, "can you not help her ?" He ignored me. I then decided I could unload my car while she continued - but no ! The "worker" said, "one person at a time, stay in your car." Mind you this was June 2022 - not Covid Plandemic 2020. Finally the 6 cars behind me gave up, so I was able to back out. Note the lady was still unloading her car, bless her. Life is not worth living if idiot workers are left in control of ones time. I drive over an hour each way to shop at the Gig Harbor Goodwill. I usually find something there and go away happy. However, today, one of the employees with a large cart dashed in front of me to get to the dish aisle, which is narrow anyway, then parked herself in the middle of it so I could not pass her or look beyond her. The woman trying to shop on the other end of the aisle ran into the same problem and neither of us were able to shop that aisle. The employee wasn't even stocking the shelves. She was checking dates and throwing them back onto the shelf. The other shopper and I patiently waited but the employee wasn't budging so we gave up. I realize housekeeping matters need to be attended to, but if you have people on either side of you waiting to shop, couldn't you go do something else and come back later? Disappointing! read more

As far as goodwill's go, this one is probably my least favorite to visit. My biggest complaint would be the fact that nothing is organized by size very well. I'm not sure if it's customers or employees mismatching the racks. But I spent the first 15 minutes confused at how many sections I went through that had random sizes, none of which should of been there. About half the sections were the wrong sizes. Even though they were labeled. I grew frustrated quickly and gave up. Plus I think the dresses were sorted by color and not size? Otherwise they too were completely mismatched. Not efficient at all. The employees were incredibly friendly otherwise, and we were smiled at and greeted when we walked in. Honestly I don't think I'll be back to this location anytime soon. The goodwill in Port Orchard and Silverdale are way more organized and the layouts are easier to walk through. read more

Good junk store, but every time I go there, I see well-dressed men in their 40s and 50s casually walking around the store, looking around but not really shopping. They weren't old men, and they weren't bums. A couple of times I saw two of them driving off together. I wonder what they are doing in the junk store. read more

This place disappoints me every time. The prices are ridiculous. I can't name all the times I've pointed out they are asking more for it than the original store was. I know this because someone was too lazy to remove the original rice tag. The people in general are wonderful. Whatever happened to the place where people who might have a little struggle in life can come and get thing they need that they normally couldn't afford. Shame on you goodwill. We have a great community in gig Gabor who donate lovingly and you return the favor by preying on the weak by price gouging! Donations: One of the first things to try to do with people you are integrating into the work force ought to be teaching them even a cursory level of manners and customer service skills. Regardless of what you are trying to donate, or whether or not it's an item that they are accepting, you should not be treated like a jerk because you tried to make a donation. I like to help where and when I can, and it doesn't make me a saint, donating to Goodwill. But for God's sake, don't treat the people who make donations like dirt. read more
