I was completely overwhelmed by the "junky" look of this store. I wanted to RUN out. When I pulled up there was some lady talking to the wall. Like seriously. I am not kidding. Then walking in one of the employees was arguing with a lady who walked out about stealing his pen. If he didn't have on the Goodwill shirt(which was dirty) I wouldn't have known. I'm not saying they don't have good deals, but I really can't tell I couldn't get passed everything being in bins and having to dig through it. I really should have brought some surgical gloves. Uh, yeah. I think this will be my very last trip to this location. The other people could be very nice but I was overwhelmed with the atmosphere. At the end I had to change my rating because the lady and guy at the counter were overly nice. Sometimes customer service can make or break a place and in this case they made my day. Her name started with an E. Very sweet. Have a wonderful weekend. read more

This is a nasty place, Goodwill upper management needs to clean house here! As soon as you walk into the place you are Inundated with the smell of someone smoking marijuana. The place is incredibly dirty and the items that are being considered for purchase are absolutely garbage. read more

Great place for a good bargain especially on the weekends when everything is half price. I have furnished my living room and kitchen from this Goodwill for under $100. I get complements all the time. Retro sectional sofa with plastic covers that I paid $30 was on EBay for $1,800. Not for the faint hearted, bins and tables only for clothes, shoes, housewares, electronics, linens and pillows. You will jave to dig for your treasures but the savings can't be beat. Flat pricing which is better than by the pound. Ex: Weekend pricing - Coats $1.50 - clothing 50 cents a piece - comforters $1.50 - small appliances $1.50. I just love this place. read more

Dont be confused by the above name- This is also the Goodwill Store for Gary, IN. It this is very, VERY, bad!!! Do not go here! I am a good will shopperin in Indianapolis, IN and all of them had a few items that were buy-able. I never went to one that didnt have at least one things I didnt want to buy....However, Gary's Goodwill Store gives the whole company a bad name! None of the shoes or clothing were in wear-able condition for anyone! I went in and then left! Please be advised that walking into the Goodwill Store will be the wrong decision to make for yourself. read more

This is not a true Goodwill Outlet or Pound Shop. Also, you will not find one in the Chicago area. You can however find them in somewhat nearby locations such as Indianapolis and St. Louis by using the goodwill web site. Select outlet and then hit the search button. Again, not sure why the Chicago and nearby NW Indiana do not have even have one pound shop. To name this store as "outlet" is a LIE........ Goodwill should truthfully list this location as an everyday store because it is hardly anything more. read more

This is a clearance outlet meaning they get all the garbage that doesn't sell at other stores. Then they pile it all up in piles and let you dig around in it. Nothing worth having. Should have sent it all to the landfill. read more

First off, this Goodwill is a Goodwill clearance store, BUT they get some great things from the people in Gary and the surrounding area! First off, this area, to include Gary, used to be the Steel Capital of the world, not the just US. THE WORLD, hence there was A LOT of money here at one time and some of those wonderful things people bought back in the 50's, 60's and 70's are still here. I have found a suede and fur coat from Paris, a 1950's formal gown from Miami, FL, Louis Vuitton luggage and more here. Its not here every day, but its here and the best thing is that on the weekends it is HALF PRICE of $1.00 for most clothing, $2.00 jeans and book and albums are just 10 CENTS!! 10 cents !!! It is not merchandised like a a regular Goodwill, and you have to dig a bit, but to me it is the BEST! I left there last week witha pair of Born boots worth $130.00 and I paid $3.00!! read more

I love this Goodwill, especially on the weekends when everything is half price. Sure there may be some days I come and go without purchase, but it's a staple in my shopping. I go to this Goodwill when I'm looking for something BEFORE I go anywhere else. As for the selection, I found my son a $72 Lacoste shirt with original tags for .50. You can't beat that! I highly recommend this Goodwill! read more
