Additionally, the prices for VERY basic clothing items have gone up recently so this is not an ideal thrifting spot for me anymore. The plainest/most faded t-shirts are all $3.49 & when you can buy that same shirt BRAND NEW for $4.99 it just doesn't make sense to buy it here. A lot of the salvaged items from stores (I think it's usually Target) are priced way too high for a thrift store as well. Unfortunately, Goodwill is falling into the same pricing trend that most thrift stores do....they realize thrifting is popular so they hike up their prices because they know teens & young adults will pay anyway. I'm hoping they don't continue with that pattern for too long & fall into the second category of thrift stores that keep their prices higher for too long, fall out of favor with the locals, & then end up closing due to lack of customers. Here's to hoping they go back to their old pricing system.

One of my friends buys most of his clothes here. It's not just your grandpa's clothes either; they've got lots of brand-name items in great condition. I've found plenty of cool stuff too, like the painting I put in my guest room and a lovely leaded and stained-glass mirror ($3.99!!! I know it cost WAY more than that new). It's a big store too and is very well-organized by category and size so it's easy and pleasant to shop. Recently BF and I tried our hand at making homemade pizza which worked really good until we tried to put the pizza in the oven. A few days later we just happened to go to Texas Thrift and guess what we found - a brand new pizza peel!!! (The wooden thing that you use to put the pizza in the oven). What luck, right? And not just any pizza peel either, some fancy German-made peel. A quick internet search revealed the new price - $45.00. At $3.99 I'd say I did pretty well. I'll definitely be back and recommend that you check it out too. Oh, and if you don't find anything, it helps to check back frequently because they are always getting in new items. Happy shopping!!!

Coming in the morning is preferable because there are less people. My aunt introduced us to this awesome store. She shared they have great deals on special days. For example, on Earth Day they gift you a free reusable bag. On Easter they have a little treat and even on your birthday you get an e-mail bday wish with additional savings. I found a high quality tiger jacket for cheap for one of my brothers. I also found some nice shirts for a great price. If you sign up to be a member you get exclusive and extra perks.
