After our garage sale Saturday, we called this Goodwill to see what time they close for donations. We got there 2 hours before closing, and the older man who was there taking donations said he could not accept our stuff because he was "full." The place didn't look full to me. True, we had a truckload, but he could have accepted a few things. (He accepted two bag full from a guy who came right after us.) I think he was just lazy. He said because he was full, he planned to close the doors to the place after we left even though closing was two hours away.
My dad also said he has tried dropping off some books there, but he would not accept them.
He then gave us a list of donation centers to go to, that might accept our stuff. Failed to mention the closest one to him, which was not listed on the flyer he gave us.
Good thing we knew about the donation site off Hagadorn and Lake Lansing, near L&L and Whitehills Center. We went to that site instead. It was larger, Theresa was very friendly and helpful, had a great attitude about working there. If we ever have items to donate, we will drive a little farther to donate at this site instead. read more
