The girl comes to the door and says rudely to me that I need to bring everything inside and proceeds to shut the door. These things were heavy and once inside the store she said I had to lift them into a bin. This was very difficult, and hard for someone in their 70's. I was donating nice items from a downsize. She acted angry that I was donating. There were a lot of donations left outside, so I'm not sure why she picked me with all the heavy items to have to bring them inside. So, I guess, the moral of the story is donate where you can get some type of minor assistance or use a bin to bring it in all at one time. I made eight trips of heavy items, they didn't even seem to want.

They stock good, solid, pieces in a variety of styles, which are all tasteful. The staff is friendly and personable. Gideon's also keeps all of their various internet platforms up to date with what they have in stock, which is something I really appreciate. But the store is lovely, so go visit! As far as layout- upholstered items such as couches and big chairs are in the front space where they are better protected from the elements. The door to the back is where their tables, dressers, buffets, and other hard furniture are. The note I made is that they have sets but they are typically broken up into the type of furniture. For example you like a dresser and wish there was a matching nightstand for it then you will likely find it in the nightstands. Overall a very solid place to seek furniture.

Thrifty Shopper is one of the few thrift shops where they actually organize their books too. Being able to spot cookbooks vs fiction vs children's books at a glance is really great. It encourages me to genuinely sit and browse them to see if they have books I am seeking.
