I was so thrilled with some of the scores I used to get there. Now I find myself picking something up, looking at the price and putting it back down. Also, if you have sensory issues, they always play the music very loud in there. But the owners/employees are very nice. They are accommodating and helpful and answer your questions, but I would like to see them return to a better pricing structure. As with many thrift stores, you'll find some items that are a great value and others that are overpriced.

There were sections for S,M,L,XL & plus size, but the majority of the labels were faded or not on the clothes; this is normal. But the sizes weren't written on the price tags anywhere. I understand if the store is busy and there are sizes mixed in a good amount. I understand if Ms are mixed in with Ls because that's the way they fit, because that benefits the customer. I'm a true medium and there was nothing I could wear that I would even consider trying on. It's May, and the majority of the inventory is for winter. Who wears a nice pair of leather pants when it's 70+ degrees out except a rock star? I don't know anyone who would wear a gorgeous heavy sheepskin coat now. Maybe if they were in a posh frozen vodka and caviar bar in NYC? Yes, they have bathing suits. But I don't shop for resale bathing suits or underwear. If you're petite don't even think about walking through the door. A good majority of the nicest clothes are long gowns. I was so miffed that I'm in my car writing this review now. Fortunately it's Sunday, so I didn't have to feed the meter. Btw, parking tickets in Northampton are expensive. In conclusion, I'd rather drop a month's salary at a full price boutique with a nice sales person who helps me find something that fits and flatters me. Let me give you a nice laundry list of my purchase of a tidy litany of needs, all for under a hundred dollars: Relevant literature/books for me, my new favorite clutch purse bag, snow gloves, two phone holders for vehicles, fine clothing for me and my family, household staples like notepads or three ring binder punches, and for sure my list could go on. Let's stop saying that the money you pay for these is too much or too little and instead look to what your purchase does: it funds the Fisher Hospice Home. This isn't your typical 'store,' and would be more fair to call it a non-profit venture. Volunteers maintain the store floor, swap out goods seasonally, review donations, and they all work as volunteers, for gratuity alone. The love they spend on what visitors might like is obvious, from their childrens' toy section, to their miniature library, to the household goods section. The space is maintained, full of light, and is accessible. What might challenge you is that what you find here is going to be more personal to you, instead of some wide class you happen to be a part of. That is what happens when you merchandise in timeless necessities--you would just as likely find a selfie stick here as you might find typewriter paper. What you leave with is actually liberating: there's no tracker of your behavior as a consumer, there's no brand loyalty that you're analyzed for, you're just a local shopper. Perhaps that's why the Fisher Home Hospice Shop feels like any internationally savvy visitor would visit, because what strikes you might be as surprising as any other bargain reseller, like Marshalls or TJ Maxx. Here, it's local, it's for a cause, and it's open to the public. A former friend recommended I visit the Fisher Home Hospice Shop, and I now regret I thought their advice meant I would only visit once! :)

But as loaded as it was, it was very well organized and very neat, so shopping and browsing was a real pleasure. They consign an extensive range of Junior & Women's clothing, household Items, home décor, artwork, fine and costume jewelry, silver & gold handbags, shoes, scarves & accessories, small wood furniture, books, CD's, DVD's, gifts, and collectibles. They recently introduced men's clothing to their selection, though currently, their men's inventory is limited to around a dozen outerwear coats and a few colorful bicycle racing jerseys. I also saw a nice selection of soaps, cosmetics, personal care and pet care items. One cool thing I spotted among their collection of sealed party games, was one titled "Fact or Crap." A French countryside, marble-topped table with beautiful wood design. It looks magical next to the exquisite couch in pink and yellow that I purchased from this amazing store last year.
