I've had more than one negative experience with an employee named Collette at this Goodwill, and at this point, I feel the need to speak up. Previously, I had an issue with Collette when I brought up an item that had two price stickers one clearly placed over the original, lower-priced one. It was obvious the higher price was added later. Instead of simply honoring the lower price, Collette told me I should be "grateful" she was taking the cheaper one. That kind of attitude is completely unprofessional, especially when the sticker situation was clearly not my fault. After being treated rudely on multiple occasions by the same employee, I hope this Goodwill will remove this hateful employee. No one deserves to be made to feel lesser just for walking into a store and the color of their skin. read more

I was at the Good Will store yesterday on Queen Creek Rd and Alma School. I thought prices were very high in that store and things were very picked over. but, why I am writing this review is the cashier. The young man in front of me had four shirts/sweatshirts, etc. All of them had tags on them. She would not let him buy these pieces without going in the back and repricing them. She said they were priced incorrectly. In my eyes, it something has a tag on it, they should sell it for that price. Now if the tag has been manipulated, that is something else. But these tags were on with the tag machine. This upset me and I felt bad for the young man who wanted to purchase the shirts. read more

My daughter wanted to go thrifting and we ended up at this Goodwill location. It is a large store and well organized and maintained compared to some that I've seen. It was clean and there was elbow room to browse. The cashier was managing a long line by herself and appeared stressed - no real smile or pleasant personality but I can only imagine what she'd been through during her shift as I witnessed one rude customer and thought sheez... is this what she deals with all day? read more

I frequent this goodwill often and it's one of my favorites however today I took my grandmother today because she wanted to go. I never have any issues with anyone nor do I ever leave reviews but oh my god. After looking around I went to check out I've seen this worker before he's a hispanic young man and he seemed fine with everyone else. My grandma doesn't speak English so I tried my best to help her out while checking out. I told him she didn't want a certain item anymore but he proceeded to not acknowledge what I've said and kinda snatched the item out of my hand without a glance and put it on a pile. Some of our items didn't have tags on them (I've never had this happen before) he proceeded to sigh and get irritated and told me to "next time bring it to the front" I didn't know this I apologized. Whatever, and then when we got tags on the item my grandmother changed her mind on certain items. I once again apologized for the inconvenience. He was slamming items down in front of me, and I checked out. He told me "could I grab my stuff?" I had a good amount of items so I was kind of assuming he'd ask if I'd like a bag (they normally ask me if I want a bag) he then sighed shoved a partial amount of clothes in a bag and said "next time it'll be 10 cents" WELL.. if you asked me for a bag in the first place I would've been completely fine with paying ten whole cents for a bag. I proceeded to just grab the rest of my items and throw it in the cart. My grandmother had no idea what was going on. She wanted a pair of shoes which weren't marked but I didn't want to feel like a burden any longer and left without them. Unfortunately very unprofessional worker. If you hate your job just leave. Sad thing is I was being nice too. Don't make customers feel like a burden when that is literally your job. The manager named JAMES SHACK ( the guy who is always wearing black t shirt, and always eating at work) is the most racist person I have ever seen. Always giving hard time on returning and accusing people on stealing. Made up his own policy and not wanting to process the return by saying he is not comfortable doing it because she doesn't know if all the pieces are there without any evidence. This place is terrible. I counted at least 10 individuals shopping in here without masks on and the staff said nothing. Its cluttered and the shelves are a mess: items are thrown on without any care or socking system. Also, I was able to locate only 1 hand sanitizing fixture and it had no product in it. read more

Received an item from their online division of an iPad2 with broken glass but enough memory to serve as a work device on the go and have the ability to download a book whenever I get the chance to relax. I was thrilled with my purchase but found additional issues after fixing the screen with a company having Remote Management over the device. I reached out to the Goodwill and their Customer Service was absolutely outstanding!! Not only did they make it right by replacing the unit with another device of similar specs, they were communicative, responsive, polite, professional and I appreciate all of the hard work it took to reach a win-win solution. This is a very nice Goodwill. Clean and well organized. Helpful staff. It is not overly scented with the smelly air freshener that they use at all the Goodwills now. I stopped in to buy some western themed clothing. We are having a western themed employee picnic. I found a cute denim skirt and a small western shirt in men's section. I also found a cute cowboy hat that had a feather. This location is on my way home from work, so I will stop by a lot! read more

Prices were beyond outrageous. Many things are 3x-5x retail. The manager and some other employees told me that big corporate people came into town and told everyone their prices needed to go up. Overall good selection of higher end clothing, though still pretty pricey unless it's 50% off. Less to choose from than other locations, but very little Target, Walmart quality stuff. Mostly high end brands in good shape. I have found quite a few things still with dry cleaner tags on them, but I do think $13+ for a pair of used pants is high especially when you can't try anything on. Employees don't seem friendly, particularly teen "manager" who processes your return then proceeds to leave the store on the phone cussing up a storm with a friend and was out the door before we were. Still, I've found some great almost new items and for me the price was good if I got it on sale tag color. Otherwise I could have bought new on clearance for that price. New pants on clearance at Loft run around $15 so $13 is no bargain for used. Lowering prices would be appropriate. I think $9 for used is about as high as I go especially if I can't try on. read more

I would love to discuss with you my concerns for tax payer dollars supporting Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona in any way. The public needs to know that Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona's non-profit profits are funding a for profit company the CEO-Tim O'Neal and other executives began earlier this year called Thrive. It is a company that will be focusing on commercial real estate and will also begin to open a chain of coffee shops in the near future. While they are pursuing this for profit business venture that is funded with sales of donated items from the public to their non-profit, they are also obtaining government funding to open adult education centers called Excel Centers. To my knowledge they acquired $12 million in Arizona tax payer dollars to initiate the first adult education center in the state. Governor Ducey attended a ground breaking ceremony for this location earlier this year. The center was supposed to be open and teaching their first students this fall. That project had to be delayed numerous times; because, the $12 million dollars some how was not enough for the project and they began lobbying State Legislature for even more money. To my knowledge they received an additional support of up to $20 million dollars based upon enrollment numbers. While this is happening, they recently had a round of restructuring layoffs within the GWCNA organization and the Planning and Development department that was in charge of the Excel Center project had the most layoffs. I have also been told by a very reliable inside source who wishes to remain anonymous, that the executives have officially moved over to the for profit Thrive corporation to prevent any conflicts of interest, but they are still drawing salaries from the non-profit Goodwill organization. It is assumed that they started this for profit Thrive corporation; because, there are no caps on their salaries there and they can still draw a salary and be funded by the non-profit Goodwill organization that they indirectly continue to run. These business practices may not be illegal, but they are certainly unethical and the public needs to know that not only are they funding these executives outrageous salaries with their donations, but also with their tax dollars. While they are making incredible salaries they are laying off the people in charge of opening the state funded Excel Center and the services they promised for adult education in the state are not being delivered. Your help and support in clarifying and bringing to light this issue for the Arizona public would be greatly appreciated. read more

Several years ago Goodwill was one of the better thrift stores. But now they are disorganized with stuff is just piled on shelves. Broken and dirty items are common. And the kicker is prices are irrationally high. Don't know who does their pricing, but it is crazy. I have seen stuff priced higher than an original price tag on the item they have not removed. The better stuff is apparently reserved for one of their premium stores on for sale on line. Very rare to find a real deal or good find. Rarely go there anymore. read more

Very overpriced! Most of the "good" items you can find for a better deal brand new. Found a cute lantern selling for $7.99, flipped it over and saw a Ross tag for $5.99. Several items have been found with tags like these. Last time I was there I asked if they would take a lower price on some of my overpriced finds and they refused. Reminder that Goodwill gets everything FOR FREE. Please don't buy their overpriced crap, it's incentivizing their greed. read more

I have been to this goodwill many times tonight was completely unbelievable. It was close to closing time, the employees were letting us know its 9 pm and they were closed. i was waiting in line a lady who had just purchased something large i assume came inside to let them know no one was helping her in the rear of building door so she could get her item . Employee yelled at her quite nastily and said they were closed. she explained she had just bought it and trying to get it he again yelled at her they were closed. Another employee was towards the back throwing something into a pile , and i mean throw break dont give a crap throw. It was loud. Clearly if it wasn't broke before it's broken now. The poor cashier was was obviously frazzled and quite uncomfortable with the band of thugs they had working in this place tonite . Unprofessional rude and ABSOLUTELY had no business working in customer service. Except for cashier who seemed almost scared (for lack of a better word to explain).He tried to repeatedly apologize for their behavior which had nothing to do with him . But the other two guys and a girl . Honestly need to fired. I have never seen anything quite so bad in a retail store ever. read more

I had a horrible experience. There was a bag I wanted but when I got to the register the girl told me that the "price was wrong" not only that but she was very rude about it too like how was I supposed to know, and even though it was the wrong price she still should have given it to me or at least offered a discount for the mistake.
