This is Goodwill is OK but nothing amazing. When you're in a rural area, most of your donors are shopping at Kohl's, Walmart, Target, and Meijer, and the high end shopping options are far and few between, what kind of donations do you think Goodwill is going to receive? Cheap ones. I don't know, I just don't get too jazzed over buying Walmart brands at Goodwill when I can just go to Walmart if I want. Nice selection of books, movies, CDs, and housewares. read more

Clothing was not grouped by colors like other Goodwills, making it hard to shop. Sizes were all mixed in-I know shoppers can do that, but it was so frequent. Shoes were not placed by similar colors either and kid shoes were mixed with adults. Bags and backpacks were plentiful but hard to remove and replace for a look. read more

I never thought I'd say this, but this is hands down the worst Goodwill I've ever visited. I usually hit up Goodwill for those unique, quirky finds--the odd statues, the truly unusual. This time, I was just bored. The back of the store was crammed with what felt like discards, not donations anyone would actually want. Goodwills usually boast a diverse selection; this one just had "tosses." It's tough to underwhelm me when it comes to a second-hand store, but this place managed it. Clothes were strewn everywhere, and the whole store clearly lacked any employee pride. I won't be back. The clothes seem a little higher than most also, why? This isn't the place for great value. This location, likely catering to the college crowd, simply doesn't measure up to other Goodwills. Next! read more

Price gouging at its finest. No base price for anything they make it up as they go. Toys clothes (non-branded) ridiculous.

OK stuff OK prices, but a long line to check out. They need to staff better so you don't have to wait.

The best goodwill store I have been to evah!! May travel to UC just to shop there!! Score!!! read more

Horrible. They price dirty used items at BRAND NEW prices. I will NEVER NEVER go back to ANY Goodwill EVER again

In town to help family clean out. Brought a trunk of clothes to donate. The guy at the donation door wouldn't help and denied me a cart because it was raining (it wasn't). He got tired of me handing him clothes and put a bin inside the drop off for me to dump clothes first and last time I deal with the goofiness here. I'll toss it first. read more

The most UNORGANIZED place ever. I had a truck full of stuff to donate, so I called ahead to make sure they would want/take it. They said yes. So I drove over 20 miles to donate this stuff to them, and the lady at the drop off told me ' No, drop off is closed'. I told her that I had called 40 minutes prior, and was told to bring it down. They refused the donation. Never again will I donate anything to them. Poorest run store ever. They need new management that informs employees of what's going on before the store opens for the day. read more

Goodwill needs to get better! When I walked up to the counter to check out the employee let out a huge burp did not say excuse me nothing! Why Goodwill doesn't offer bags anymore confuses me. I'm sure it is to save money. Trying to carry out eight items was not fun. Only one was a clothing item. I saw some items I wanted. Many prices are just too high for resale. read more

It's funny how this keeps happening but every time I go there they have exactly what I need right in my eyesight as I walk in (and of course a whole bunch of stuff I want but don't need lol). I got my entire work uniform there, including non slip work shoes. Spoke with some staff and it turns out they really take care of their people too. Between that and their outreach programs, I'll pay a little extra for used stuff knowing it's actually going back to the people read more

The young man (obviously impaired) man at the door where I pulled up to donate (a lot of things) was beyond RUDE! He offered no assistance whatsoever and the bags were a tad heavy, not too heavy for me to manage but I'd been moving furniture up until that point and I have a bad back to begin with. He needs to be kicked to the curb. UNBELIEVABLE! read more

Pulled up to drop off huge donation and the older man at the door was so rude about handing him my big bag that was literally right in front of him where I had dragged it as he watched than asked me to pick it up and hand it to him!! Will never donate to this place again!!!' Tried calling to complain about his rude behavior and could not reach anyone!! Ridiculous read more

A good Goodwill store as far as inventory is concerned. Big parking lot, shopping carts, convenient store hours. This Goodwill location had a ton a brand new Fall and Holiday items originally from Shop-Ko and K-Mart (I believe). Great stuff, just really overpriced for a resale store. Items marked $5.99 should really have been priced $2.99 at most. Ultimately I give this location 3/5 stars because some of the areas of the store were super hard to shop and just downright messy. Customer service was severely lacking. No one greeted us, said "hello" to us when we got to the checkout counter or thanked us. Not even a "thank-you" when they asked us if we wanted to round our purchase(s) to the nearest dollar and we agreed. My mom and I weren't aware of the reason for rounding to the nearest dollar, so my mom asked the employee ringing her up. The employee briefly (in 2 seconds) explained what the rounding of our purchase supported because we asked her, but I really think the employee(s) should automatically explain what the rounding to the nearest dollar is supporting and not just assume that all customers know. After all, we didn't know. I prefer the Goodwill in Savoy, but wouldn't be opposed to returning to this location if I were in the area. read more

I'm done with Goodwill trying to sell stained target clothes for 7.99. It's honestly ridiculous. They make sure to put white and black tags on anything wearable so it never goes half off. read more

Store review: I was really excited to visit a goodwill store for the first time hoping to find some random 1980 nostalgia toy or other things that would remind me of the past. I was a little disappointed at the selection. The store mainly consist of a lot of second hand clothes that are really cheap1-4 dollars. There is a very small section of toys and knick nack in the back. It is nice that this money goes back somewhat to charity. I was just hoping for more interesting and rare stuff like you see on TV with storage wars. Pros: cheap second hand clothes, lots of selections Cons: Toy, electronic, and furniture section is very lacking Hidden deals: If you can find something rare at a cheap price than you are very lucky! read more

I got to this location about 5-7 minutes before it opened, so I was waiting in my car in the donation lane until after the donation door opened. I noticed someone standing behind the glass door and it was 2 minutes until they opened, so I decided to get up the door and said we're not open and you can't park there (in the donation lane.) So I parked elsewhere and came back 2 minutes later to drop off my things. He didn't even bother to help me with the 6 bags of donations I had. What a poor example of customer service! read more

Wow! Unbelievable customer service. I was really close to just leaving my cart filled with stuff there and walking out the door. They had just taken off an entire wall of purses and was restocking them with new merchandise. I walked towards the cart of the old purses and was scolded, those can't be touched cause their old and she's restocking them and it's gonna be awhile. She said they were getting rid of the old ones, cool, can I look through the old ones cause you might be able to still sell them to me cause they're not old to me. But couldn't get those words out before being yelled out as I took half a step toward them. I figured I didn't have a chance at purses so I looked at some dresses. I see the sales associate now walking around with some purses and putting them on the end of the racks. I felt like the only way I would now see the purses is if I just walk behind her and watch her put them down. I did hear her take a Purse out of someone's cart cause it was an Purse from the old purse cart. Like really? That customer was willing to give you money for something your most likely sending to your outlet store where it has a day or two before it's trashed. Turned out it was the customers personal purse. Trying to steal a purse? Bad experience set aside, I did find some decent items, there was a half off sale on certain colored tags, I asked if the discount was being taken off and she said it automatically rings but, I know some items had the plastic tag itself was green but the word written on the tag said red. Wasn't gonna argue, just wanted to get out fast. read more

I usually enjoy shopping at Goodwill, I do not like their new policy. If something isn't marked tHey can't sell it to you, they won't let anyone mark it for you. You have to wait 24 hours to have it priced. Shopping is like hunting for great deals and awesome finds. I found the cutest Alpaca candle holder, I saw it didn't have a price. I asked and was told the new policy. I explained my Daughter I in Laayoune would love it. I asked if they would take mY name aNd call me when it is for sale. They took my number, never called, and when I checked it was gone. Not a good policy at all!! read more

Pretty good selection of items but sometimes the prices can sometimes be ridiculous! Really? $30 for a used ice cream machine with a crack in it? read more

I visit this store almost everyday because I always leave with something great. I find clothes new with tags all the time and clothing that looks brand new for $3.50 or less! One of the nicest, cleanest goodwills I've ever been to. There is a lack of cashiers, especially on a Saturday when the place is packed and there are lines all the way across the store. Also, they are beginning to totally over price their purses. An obviously fake Prada with the label falling off for $199.99. WHAT?! Even if it was real, this is goodwill not a high end resale store. Plus a couple fake Dooney's for $99.99, come on now. But still, love this place and all the little treasures that are hidden in it. read more

I have to update my review now that I've shopped here for clothing. The selection of women's clothing is pretty great. Not only have I found plenty of things that I like and that fit well, many of the clothes seem practically brand new. There are lots of good quality clothing brands to be found on the racks here (plenty on the regular racks, not just on the "boutique" racks) and it seems like new donations come in frequently. The men's selection is a bit smaller, but still alright. I stand by my previous statements regarding the other departments in this particular Goodwill. Appliances and kitchen items are all pretty grimy looking and the selection is sparse. I'd only come here if you're looking for clothes. read more

I used to take all of my donations to this location. After the treatment I received today I will no longer be taking any donations to this location. The worker was very rude and did not give me good directions then got angry because I did not understand what he meant. Not the way you expect to be treated when dropping off donations!! read more

I loved this Goodwill. I have gone to many thrift stores and Godwill stores and this one is one of my favorites. On ly last shopping trip I found a Gap coat for $6 and Liz Claiborne sweater for $4 and a pair of khakis from Chicos for $4. All in great, almost new condition. Everything is organized by size. I just moved here so I am used to the Goodwill in Oswego that was organized by size and color. They also wouldn't take my Club Goodwill card. I never looked any where beyond the clothes...so I can't comment on anything but the clothes. read more

My wife and I used to frequent this goodwill and others in the area. Used to be able to find really good deals. We don"t go anymore due to how much they have raised their prices. read more

I can only comment on this Goodwill as a donation center. There is a drop off area with adequate signage. They have created a bit of a circle drive for customers to drop off. They were just finishing with someone when we arrived, so it was perfect timing. We had a number of bags and it they got all from us very quickly. I had to warn the young man to be careful with a basket of items as they were all breakable items. They just seemed to be putting everything with one big bin and I was worried that they would break before being able to be put out on the floor. I hope that the staff were careful to watch out for such items. read more

Worst goodwill I've ever been to. And I LOVE goodwill stores. Messiest, dirtiest and worst service. Rude cashier talked badly about the costumer before me after he left. When the reason he was respectfully upset was, in fact, the cashiers fault anyway. read more

Not so happy with Goodwill anymore. I happen to know of their atrocious treatment of their employees. They are now in the process of forcing all of their employees to reapply for jobs there while also making them open to the public. If those employees reapply and don't get hired, they lose their job. Many of the employees are full-time with benefits. This kind of corporate and greedy behavior is truly sickening. read more

Compared to other thrift stores in the area, Goodwill is hit or miss - for furniture and kitchenware. I cannot comment on the clothing selection. They do have a lot of books. The last time I went, the kitchen/furniture section was half empty, and what was left was junky stuff. read more

My poor review is mainly because of the frustration of waiting in line to check out. There are only two registers, and one of those is RARELY used. Be prepared to stand in line because they don't call any other cashiers to help out. They might have someone trying to help the cashier by bagging the items, but then they are too busy chit chatting amongst themselves to stay focused. Standing in line with one or two items while there are numerous people in front of you with cartful's, is beyond frustrating. One day I was number nine in line with people behind me too, and they still didn't call up another cashier. I put my things back on the rack and walked out. What a waste of my time! Get your people trained. read more

The prices aren't all that bad here. I've shopped here several times and while i do see high prices, it's usually for things that were higher priced to begin with. Goodwill has it's mission to support which primarily takes place at their Springfield location. One misconception i think alot of people have about this business is that they are a charity. Goodwill is not a charity. Or a trash service. I've noticed when driving by while they are closed that people dump their trash outside their donation door. Broken TVs, Matresses, dirty clothes, hangers etc...this is illegal. These are things that the company does not even ACCEPT. If you want better prices and better service from Goodwill, stop donating junk and only donate when they are open. Alot of the things you donate when they are not there gets stolen. They do need to repaint their parking lot lines, and put up some private parking signs. There are always people parked where cars are supposed to be able to drive through and more often than not travelers that use their lot to park their oversized vehicles so they can go eat at Five Guys or Culvers. Just getting in the way of us shoppers. read more

I am not a fan of their clothes selections. But it's a good place to just wander around and buy some little home stuff. like a curtain for a back door or sth read more

The store smells, the place is really dirty and it's nearly impossible to find good items. They price things way too high here. Designer clothing that is completely worn out or ripped shouldn't be marked $15. I stopped going here once the other nicer stores opened up, not only are they bigger and cleaner, but the staff there is much nicer. read more

Goodwill in Champaign Illinois belittles their Employees, The Management sits on their Butts in the office and has no idea what is going on in the store. When asked for help, instead of helping they will talk down to the employee because they cannot keep up. Management play games on facebook and facetime on messenger rather than help out. The manager is spineless and the district manager petty. The management DOES NOT support their team leads and yet jumps on them for every mistake. The Male manager when he closes will just take off leaving minor and women employees waiting for rides to fend for themselves instead of waiting to make sure everyone has left, as he puts it not in his job description. If they catch you price checking something on Ebay you will be told to leave the store......I would stay far far away from this good will. read more

I go here pretty often due to the fact that there just isn't much for resale / thrift around here. All in all, better selection than the Salvation Army on Market, better prices than the Goodwill in Savoy, but dirty, dirty, dirty. I was put in a dressing room today so that I could try on a brand new $9 Apt 9 dress. The dressing room absolutely reeked of urine. I can say that this was definitely the foulest thing that has ever happened here, and it's made me question ever returning. The prices seem to keep increasing in the housewares section even though the merchandise is continuously building up. $1 for a book is not a thrift-price. The boutique clothes section seems to be expanding way beyond reason as well with well-used clothing being put in just because it has a legible label. I don't know. Just disappointed. I'll stick with garage sales and Salvation Army. read more

Goodwill used to be my place of choice for a good deal- especially for gently used holiday decor, toys, & clothes. Sadly the store quality & pricing has really declined in the last 6 months.... Seasonal & household Items are WAY overpriced ($2 for a used pumpkin bucket? $4 for a small votive holder? Really?) and the store has also stopped accepting & selling toys! And even though the store is better organized you're lucky to get out of there with something worth the trip! The one thing I still shop here for is clothing & an occasional kids book- for both categories the selection is still good & pricing is more than reasonable. Get back to basics Goodwill or you'll be losing a large majority of your business! read more

I have been a longtime customer, but wont be going back. Prices have jumped and are ridiculous! I could buy things new/clearence at name brand stores for what GoodWill is charging for USED items! It's outrageous! I will plan accordingly and garage sale more in the summer and hit the local Salvation Army which has reasonable prices. read more

We are regular and loyal customers, and used to love this store. Now, not so much. We've visited the area for 3 months in winter each of the last 4 years. Used to be great 3 years ago. With a newborn son, we found great deals for him and for ourselves. Basically he was a Goodwill kid, and you would never know it, ass all was 100 percent cotton of high quality and basically new, thanks to careful and enthusiastic bargain hunting by my wife. We still use a huge wonderful Christmas tree I found for 3 dollars! I got a winter shell there which saved my life, for 6 dollars. And we got his first snowsuits there. But, beginning in Dec 2013 it started to go downhill. Kids' clothes a mess, not sorted by size; quality is worse. This year (Dec 2014) a huge drag is the Goodwill Radio channel running constantly with vapid music and a fake and unctuous and obnoxious male model radio announcer type voice trying to convince us to shop at Goodwill and to feel good about being there. Well, guess what, we are there out of choice so shut the f...up, already!!! In short, the managers with dollar signs in their eyes and stupid ideas need to be fired and replaced by someone with a good heart and simple good judgement. read more
