This Goodwill is very organized and clean. It was obvious what color was on sale. We shopped for over 2 hrs and purchased over $156!! Whoo whee what a haul. A little bit of something for everybody including the dog! We found clothes for everyone, great selection, thank you!! I live close to this Goodwill in Amarillo - so I see daily how much stuff is left there by the people donating. Like 20 years of watching it. The few times i've been in to look for something, there is literally nothing on the shelves. It's mostly junk. Its so disorganized. Its trashy and dirty. At first it wasn't too crazy about this Goodwill because I misunderstood their pricing and thought that everything was sky-high. I even asked a clerk but she sent me up to the front and I didn't want to have to wait through the line of people buying things just ask the prices. I finally tracked down another Clerk who told me what to look for and the items I was holding were much more reasonable than I thought . I think I only spent about $10 and was perfectly happy with what I ended up with. I didn't find one single skein of yarn. Not one single skein. But I left happy anyway with the items I got. The store is laid out well enough. I did see one item, a baby shopping cart cover, that looked like it wasn't clean at all and I am used to the Goodwill's back home where everything is washed and looks pretty immaculate. It looks like a pretty popular store, with a lot of Shoppers. I forgot to ask if they had any sale days or senior discounts. I don't go here anymore. They got way too high and everything is always broken (Glassware). Look at the glassware closely because its chipped or broke somewhere. Sometimes i missed it only to get home with a broken worthless piece of junk. Nope no more. I went shopping again today because my husband wanted to give it a second chance at the Goodwill in Amarillo on I40 and Bell St. It was almost closing time and my husbandand I were in line with a full cart. Over $100 worth of stuff. I asked to go to the restroom and the guy told me it was closing time and could not unlock the restroom. The cashier guy told me that the restroom was out of order which I know was a lie! This is the SECOND TIME this has happened. I have a medical bladder problem to where I have to go frequently. I told my husband lets go! ... We left the cart with over $100 in merchandise at the end of the line and left. I want you to know WE WILL NEVER BE BACK! Your prices are too high for one thing. You want 6.97 for something that retails out at $20! The way I do the math is this. YOUR DOLLAR AMOUNT times 5. Retail has to be higher than that! If its not then its not worth it for us and we go to the next thrift store. I also wont be going to the Goodwill on Bell and 45th ever again. About a month ago the clerk charged us for a mans shirt TWICE. Would NOT give us our money back .. only a credit on a little piece of paper smaller than a receipt that I ended up losing because it was so small. So Im out that money and again the employees were rude about it. I AM YOUR PAYCHECK! But not anymore. I will go elsewhere even garage sales. Garage Sales, Estate Sales, 5 other Thrift Stores. Nothing was organized at all! Things thrown in different places throughout the store. The shoes had no sign on what size they were. No jackets! It was 20-30° last night. No blankets. Very little in the men's section. The gloves and 1 hat we got were priced 7$ each! Wow, we are not coming back here, nor are we going to recommend this store to anyone. read more

In Amarillo our Goodwill is one location only and it's a dumpy warehouse off the interstate near an intersection on a busy street. It can be difficult to get in and out. Things are strew all over and not organized well. The backside of the store's lot where you drop off donations is dirt.. very bumpy with potholes and seriously needs regraded. It's a total no go after a rainstorm. Women's clothing takes up 50% of the store while the men's section is resigned to one small pitiful corner. If you're male and remotely picky about your clothes I don't recommend you waste your time shopping here because the selection is so poor. Also there's 2 cash registers and normally only one open. Regularly I've had to wait in a line of 6+ people deep. I've been to Goodwills in Nebraska, Colorado and Oklahoma and they have more locations in better areas. Also their stores tend to be much nicer, smaller, and neater - like retail stores. I've been to ones that color tag their clothing (blue, red, yellow, etc) and offer discounts on that tag of color for the week. Our store here does nothing like that. I believe the Amarillo store is behind the times compared to other outlets. Goodwill is NOT a nonprofit. Many people don't know that. So someone makes a lot of money from this as a business. I appreciate that they provide jobs to the community but they need to put money back into making nicer stores with other locations in town. The bottom line is Amarillo's Goodwill should be so much better! read more

Goodwill Amarillo is a dangerous place to try to shop. When they bring out the merchandise from the back in big carts, they are attack by Vultures (low life people) scavenging the contents breaking destroying much, fighting etc. Don't try to walk down that isle when the carts come out, you could be hurt or worse killed, small children are certainly in danger !!! I learned this from experience, in wrong isle, wrong time...my broken foot still healing. I use to donate to Goodwill and quite a bit but not any more, why should I donate things real people can use, when the Vultures will break it, or tear up first in their haste of greed or whatever ? One day Goodwill is going to be hit by a VERY large law suit for this on infraction of business. There has got to be a better way and time for merchandise to be shelved, perhaps a night shift when it's not open to public and no vultures are in the store ???
