When our animals have been sick or needed neutering/spaying, the doctors and desk staff scheduled us within a reasonable period of time sometimes right away. Several times I have telephoned for help and have gotten advice over the phone; ex: what to do with a kitten which was gasping for air, bubbling at the mouth, and Dr. Wilson diagnosed that it had gotten something stuck in its throat and offered an easy-to-administer home remedy which saved the kitten. No charge. They're no-nonsense, practical, know their business, easy to work with. Our 4-H kids got yearly notification reminders to have their pets wormed, annual shots, check-ups. We still get those for the animals in-house! I recommend them highly.

Over the last couple years, my boyfriend and I have gone tent camping in Dodgeville and invited Joe-the-Dog ("JTD") to accompany us, but during our trip we always wanted a few hours to go exploring where dogs aren't welcome. We longed to swim and bike, or venture outside of the campground to go see local attractions without worrying about JTD. Well, thanks to Alisha's, we can do all these things. Alisha's offers doggy day care and overnight boarding for cats and dogs as well as a pet store and grooming area. The facility is clean, well kept, and has kennels that offer both an indoor and outdoor area for each dog. JTD gets plenty of yard playtime with other dogs, and when we pick him up, he tells us all about his awesome day. When we walk in, we are always greeted by a friendly feline or two and doubly friendly humans. We can tell the staff loves each animal they care for, and their friendliness extends not only the well-known locals, but also to outsiders like us. The pricing is the most reasonable doggie day care offering we have seen so far. We usually drop JTD off around 10 or 11 and return around 4-5, and it is only $10! The workers at the Humane Society are very professional and keep a very clean house for all the dogs and cats. ok after having to put my dear cat down with oral cancer after having him for only 6 years..I…read moredecided to get another kitty..also at the green county humane society..the staff were great ...kind and patient..I too had difficulty with the application process, I was finally approved and went in only to fall in love with a totally different kitty...I have had her just about 6 weeks..took her for a 'new kitty' checkup with my Vet..the $40 visit turned to $80 when it was discovered she has dental disease, which was not noted in her exit paper work.She needed an antibiotic injection and I understand she may need teeth pulled at a cost of over $300 ! I am a senior and on a fixed income. I am so upset, having hoped to have time with her before medical costs happen.. I understand I can surrender her within 2 months..but there is a surrender fee of course. I would not have adopted her with this dental disease after what I just went through with my other cat! Both of our dogs have now had their appointments and I am SO PLEASED with our experiences at this clinic. Booking our appointments and becoming established with the clinic was so easy and the front desk staff was incredibly friendly. While at our appointments the staff was friendly and greeted us upon entry. We were immediately roomed to our exam room, which I thought was awesome because the dog that walked in ahead of us was elderly and clearly was not liking my dog being near. I think the immediate rooming is great for those pets that do not do well around others and everyone gets their privacy. We had Dr Milford and Dr Rathje as our vets and both were excellent. They took the time to make our dogs comfortable in the exam room and listened to our concerns. They also have an app which allows me to easily see when my dogs are new for their next vaccinations or see any appointments I have scheduled. We received text reminders prior to our appointment and a follow-up text afterwards to see how our pets were doing after receiving their vaccines. They also called with the results of the bloodwork the same day of our appointment. As stated in another review, they do take a "no show" down payment prior to your appointment. They are very transparent about this while scheduling your appointment and explain the fee well. The money they obtain goes towards the cost of your appointment, but if you do not show up for your appointment they keep the money. If you cancel you appointment in advance they do not charge you the no show fee. As someone who works in the healthcare field, I agree entirely with what they are doing. Many patients "no show" and that open spot costs money for the clinic/providers, plus it was valuable time where they could have been helping someone else. In other words, ignore the 1 star review from the other person. DVS is a 5 star facility and I would highly recommend them!

DO NOT EUTHANIZE YOUR PETS HERE!!!! On January 27, I brought my beloved dog in for a scheduled…read moreeuthanasia. This was one of the hardest moments of my life, and I expected his final moments to be peaceful. Instead, while we were in the euthanasia room, I could clearly hear staff members in the hallway laughing and talking loudly throughout the procedure. The noise was so disruptive that I had to ask the veterinarian and assistant if someone could please ask the staff to be quieter. MY DOG NEEDED A SECOND SHOT! Whether the staff realized a euthanasia was taking place or not, the result was that my dog's final moments were not the calm, respectful goodbye every family deserves. That memory has stayed with me. Months later, after taking time to process what happened, I sent the clinic a thoughtful email explaining my experience and asking only that they help ensure other families receive a more peaceful environment. I never received any acknowledgment or response. I can only speak from my own experience, but because of what happened--and because the clinic never responded--I cannot recommend this clinic for euthanasia services. Every family deserves a quiet, compassionate environment when saying goodbye to a beloved pet.
