Cubli is an extremely fearful, reactive, resource-guarding Pekingese with a bite history. We had already worked with a behavioral veterinarian, tried medication, and worked with two highly qualified reward-based, fear-free trainers. Despite our best efforts, we simply weren't making progress. Aaron's approach is completely different, but that does NOT mean it's cruel. I would never allow that. Everything he did was calm, confident, and purposeful. He never yelled or tried to frighten Cubli. During our four-hour session, Cubli attacked him several times and even broke the skin on his arm. Aaron handled every situation calmly and safely, and by the end of the session Cubli was voluntarily walking up to him for attention. That alone spoke volumes to me. Even more amazing were the changes we saw in just one session. I was able to pet Cubli's head, something that had become incredibly difficult. Cubli also remained completely calm while someone used our guest bathroom, which previously would have triggered frantic barking and attempts to chase and bite. What impressed me most wasn't just the changes in Cubli, but how much Aaron taught James and me. We realized that many things we thought were perfectly normal were actually contributing to Cubli's emotional state. Aaron helped us understand how to communicate with our dog in a way that helps him feel safe instead of feeling responsible for controlling every situation. We know one session doesn't magically solve years of behavioral issues, and the real work now belongs to us. But for the first time since adopting Cubli, we genuinely feel hopeful. Aaron understood our dog in a way no one else had. Somewhat to my embarrassment, I actually started to cry as Aaron was leaving. That is very unlike me. It wasn't because I thought Cubli was "fixed." It was because, for the first time in a very long time, I truly felt he had a chance. If you have a fearful, reactive, aggressive, or resource-guarding dog and feel like you've run out of options, I can't recommend Aaron highly enough. He was worth every penny.

It's also a great opportunity to check out the facility. I had talked to Travis on the phone and met him when we came for our evaluation interview. Travis is a true dog whisperer! You can see that he truly loves dogs and knows how to handle them. Our rescue dog, Ollie is a border collie and loves to run. He's also an escape artist and after seeing the secure fencing felt that he would be totally safe at LSDR. At home Ollie wears the Whistle device on his collar. It tracks his location and activity distance. I asked if he could wear it during his stay there and they were so accommodating! They even charged up the device for us! We saw a couple of photos they posted of Ollie on Facebook. I could totally relax while we were out of town because I knew Ollie was having so much fun. Our Whistle App showed that he ran 4 miles his first day! I highly recommend Lone Star Dog Ranch!!

I called her on Monday and the vehicle was still having problems. I called her again that week and she informed me that I could bring the dog to her house the next day, she informed me that no she couldn't have the dog at the house. They were threatening her with the eviction over her grooming at her apartment. I finally found a groomer, it is not Linda!

Our family brought our dog in a few weeks ago with concerns about what was at the time a small mass…read morethat had just come up on her stomach. We were told not to be concerned and given some medication to help with the mass before a scheduled surgery 2 week later. Over the next week the mass grew rapidly and my wife called 2 times to express concerns and was told they would call back. They did not. I brought her in the next day and this point the mass had broken the skin and was bleeding profusely. They waited most of the day before calling me and once they did they informed me they had no time for surgery and the earliest to get her in was the next Tuesday. I asked is waiting that long going to be life threatening and they assured me it was not and she was stable. When I picked her up I expressed concerns about her rapid breathing and said she doesn't look good to me. The assistant told me they had examined her and she wasn't in any immediate danger. The next morning she died in horrible pain and we were helpless to do anything about it! Had I known she was in danger I would have found alternative treatment and at least if her condition was something that couldn't be fixed I would have had an opportunity to put her down humanely. Instead she died scared and in terrible pain. I will never ever go back to the place again! I cannot help but wonder if this was one of their pets would they have taken so long to try and address the problem when it was in its either stages. I'm furious with the way we were treated and even more upset about the pain she suffered as she passed away!
