As we got closer to the area, I started to feel what I can only describe as a shift in the front wheels when I hit a bump and occasionally when I made a turn. I had also heard a clicking sound maybe 6 or 7 times in over the last week or so when making a left turn. Since we have to head back soon, I wanted to make sure that our car would be safe to drive home. I'm no mechanic, so I started fearing the worst and thinking I'd need a very expensive repair. I called Whetzel because the reviews were so good. I made the call about 15 minutes before closing and Warren told me to bring the car in the next morning when they open at 8am so that he could order any needed parts and get us safely on the road the following day. He got the car up on the lift and found that it was a fairly simple repair (loose bolt). He did a wheel alignment and rotated the tires and I was on my way in about an hour. Could not be more grateful to Warren and the fine folks at Whetzel who fit my car into a busy schedule and made sure it would be safe to make the long drive home. When you're a car owner, it's important to have a trusted mechanic. Having something happen while on the road is scary because you take a risk taking your car to a mechanic you don't know. I would not hesitate recommending Whetzel to anyone and would absolutely use them again.

Well it has been awhile since I was in there(Aug 16), but not too far off not to talk about my…read moreexperience with this particular store. Now I know autozone can get me the parts I need (generally) and somewhat reasonably priced. Well I ordered a part from them one day (ignition switch assembly), because they could get it quicker than the other store in Titusville (where I was working) and was told it would be in the next day when they opened or 10 at the very latest. I stood in the store, the kid showed me the request and sent it out. No problem. It will be here. Went in the next day about 10:30 (just to be safe) and asked about the part. Well the first guy did not understand the concept of ordering a part and went back to look. Couldn't find it, I'm like okay, I was told it would be here by the kid the night before and he showed me the request and the number they had in the warehouse. He stonewalled me, "well I don't know what to tell you?", I was going to ask for a manager when another "clerk" shows up and tries to help, he tells me it isn't in the store, and nothing showing up. Now mind you I had called ahead and was told it was going to be there. Well the first problem was they didn't spell my name right and instead of asking for the phone # they just said they didn't have it. I gave them my phone number, they said it was never ordered, I told the guy "yes it was, I saw the conformation on the screen the day before and we even called the warehouse" so try again. He calls them and is told the same thing, that part should be sitting there in that shop. Well, now almost 40 minutes had gone by and I was pretty mad and asked if you would reimburse me for this mess up,considering I drove 20 miles out of my way to get this part and I was promptly ignored. So I left and called corporate. Filed a complaint, and the district manager called me. I described what had happend and who took part in it from beginning to end. He said excuse me! (in disbelief) Well it turns out the second guy who came to the counter was the store manager, the very person that could have rectified the situation via getting the part or discounting said part, or at the very least not treating me like I am a liar and even worse an idiot. Now I was offered a discount, but I refused on the grounds I just wanted to inform you and my desire for for compensation had dissipated and I just wanted the situation to be known. There needs to be a shakeup in management at that particular store. I will never be back. I conduct all my dealings with the Franklin, Meadville and Titusville stores. Which aren't too bad.

In the beginning, I promised a good review... Unfortunately, I cannot - in all honesty - do that…read more.. all I've received is an abundant amount of "over-promising & under-delivering". Here's the truth: I respect someone's ambition when trying to start or grow their own business on the side; however, not finishing with one customer and moving on to the next, after having taken 3 times the promised time, and still having it "incomplete", prevents me from ever hiring someone like you ever again. This is not a good way to get people to trust your word or ability to resolve matters in a timely fashion...I was left stranded without transportation for nearly a week, while being forced to do most of the work that I was paying you for myself, due to your lack of sense-of-urgency and slow reaction times. I can understand that you're tired after a long day's work, however, you should set realistic expectations for yourself and customers, so that they can plan their time for being without transportation accordingly; not to be left completely stranded. Communication is scarce, so if you're someone that relies on their car like I do, and values their time, I would consider going to an actual mechanic that will not leave you stranded with an incomplete job after already having issued payment. He has not returned any of my calls and texts back a week later with more empty promises thinking that I'm going to keep waiting on someone that is unreliable & undependable as he is -- consider yourself warned!
