CHARLESTON, SC!!!! DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICES!!! I would give this place zero stars if it was possible. From his passing to getting him back it was a week and five days. Cooper was and still is everything to me. He and I had an extremely special bond. People around us joked that he was my emotional support dog and I his emotional support human. 10 years growing up together and he will always stay my baby. They disrespected and disturbed his remains repeatedly and I am left with fixing the mistakes of a severely incompetent business. I called them multiple times throughout the process to choose a different urn etc (about 3-4 times before I got my dogs ashes back). Each time I double checked to make sure that they had all of my requested services. When I went to pick him up he I saw that he was put in the wrong urn when I had paid extra for a very nice one. I had to take him back in to CVRC West Ashley and leave without him again. The guy said that it could take weeks to get the urn that I ordered which was infuriating because it seems like a detail that should have been mentioned when I chose it. They ended up getting it expedited. The urn gets there and it ends up that his ashes will not fit in the size they ordered, so I opt to pick another. I appreciate that tried to fix this as quickly as possible but I guess they still rushed. I get him back and the urn is sealed. I cannot even scatter the ashes and now have to figure out how to fix this and preferably with another company. My advice is if you use them call every day to make sure they follow the requests even though it is recorded or go there and hover over their shoulders because they are incapable of reading specifications and doing their job correctly.

They have taken wonderful care of two of my fur babies. I couldn't recommend them more. Wonderful staff.

Amazing experience for our last minute need for boarding our baby girl. I had two phone calls with…read moreAbby, the manager, and felt so uneasy bringing our girl. Abby was short and came off as rude, buuuuttt at the location she and all the staff were so kind. Perhaps they just get busy on the phone. Glad I didn't choose our other option. The outside of the building leaves a lot to be desired but yes, you are in the right place! Highly recommend. When we need boarding in Charleston we'll come back here

I had a reservation for my 1-year-old dog to stay at Charleston Dog House, booked since October 2…read more It was her first time at any boarding facility, and I made this clear when booking. I also called multiple times to discuss payments and inform them of her anxiety. My veterinarian confirmed she is not an aggressive dog but can be protective in my presence. To also mention- my veterinarian (knowing how my dog is) actually recommended that I take my dog to Charleston Dog House, so I truly thought my dog would be in great hands with her anxious tendencies. When we arrived, the atmosphere was chaotic, with loud and unsettling animal noises. To my shock, I observed a staff member screaming at the dogs. My dog, understandably anxious, began barking and hiding behind me. A staff member attempted to reach for her despite her clear discomfort. My dog barked but did not lunge--an interaction I witnessed directly. The staff's response was unprofessional, with one member yelling and another observing her as though she were a major issue. After completing the paperwork, I was told rudely that they would call me in 5-10 minutes to decide if my dog could stay, depending on her behavior. This possibility had never been mentioned before, which was especially concerning as I was about to leave for a trip to Florida. Feeling uneasy, I returned to my car, where I began to cry--both because of how scared my dog was and how cold and unhelpful the staff had been. Just two minutes later, a staff member knocked on my car window to demand I retrieve my dog because she wouldn't move from the lobby. They gave her no time to adjust and didn't even offer to let me walk her back to help ease the transition. I explained to the staff that this situation was incredibly stressful and inconvenient, as I was set to leave for Florida within the hour. I shared that our vet has handled my dog without me present and described her as calm once I'm out of sight. None of this seemed to matter. What upset me further was when my father called to inquire about a solution. The staff falsely claimed my dog was jumping on and biting them--something they never mentioned to me at any point. This misrepresentation of events and lack of transparency were unacceptable. Fortunately, I was able to find another facility in Walt Disney World that, within five minutes, made me feel far more at ease than Charleston Dog House ever did. The difference in professionalism and compassion was night and day. Charleston Dog House turned my dog away after only two minutes, citing "separation anxiety" without attempting any accommodations. Their lack of patience, compassion, and professionalism caused undue stress for both me and my dog. I would not recommend this facility to anyone, especially those with anxious or first-time boarding dogs.
