Unfortunately, the visit quickly became one of the hardest we've experienced as Rescue pet parents. During the exam, we were given devastating news: our beloved rescuer pet (she rescued us) has a heart murmur. Hearing this was heartbreaking and overwhelming. We were then presented with estimates exceeding $3,000 for the recommended testing and follow-up care. While we understand the importance of proper diagnostics and treatment, the emotional weight of the news, combined with the financial reality, was incredibly difficult to process in that moment. Our pet has been part of our family for over six years. She is not "just a pet" to us--she is deeply loved, cherished, and woven into our daily lives. The thought of life without her is unimaginable, and we are committed to doing everything we can to keep her healthy and comfortable for as long as possible. Despite the emotional nature of the visit, the veterinary team Dr. Marissa Romagnuolo and Car the Vet tech were professional and thorough in explaining the findings and recommendations. This experience has been painful, but we appreciate the honesty and care shown during such a difficult moment. We are now navigating the next steps with heavy hearts but unwavering love for our girl. When I got the invoice, they had put a $409.00 blood and urine test on there. I would have never approved a $409.00 test for blood and urine! Bottom line is I had to pay it, and they never have given me the results of the test. I would not take my animals here for nothing! They acted like they did not even care when I told them I would not be back. An FYI if you do have an issue like mine good luck talking to anyone at VCA about it.

I have been able to get same day and next day appointments every time I've called. They seem very knowledge and keep me informed about what is going on with my dog. It wasn't until I said something to her that she asked me if I needed any help, although I was standing at the desk. That irked me! However, as I said, that was only once. Our old vet would trim nails. They don't since they are a "fear free clinic". Now I have to spend $50 to have someone come do it at the house. (She is wonderful!) Our 14 year old dog was sick and I spent $500 on tests. They wanted to do ultrasounds and several other upcharges. Come to find out, we ruled it out ourselves, he couldn't stomach doggie aspirin that we were giving him for his hips. They are very kind and welcoming. They do offer paper prescriptions that are cheaper to be filled at the pharmacy. BUT I do find the general cost and upcharges over the top.
